Reviews:
Handy and easy to use By: Belden Fox - Oct 21, 2008 Version: 1.0.1 Downloaded this before my recent vacation in Germany and used it all the time. It scrolls through the word list "live" as you type so it often reaches the desired word before you've typed it all in (and if you make a typo you'll know immediately.) Related words that begin with the same letters are right there which is a boon to comprehension. A very handy dictionary. Also downloaded Codesign's English-German dictionary but rarely used it. (Hint to English users: to enter an accented character, like "ö", press and hold on the unaccented character until a list pops up. Same thing for entering an "ß"; press on the "s" key for a few seconds.)
Great app, but what about umlauts? By: positron09 - May 25, 2009 Version: 1.2 This is my favourite format for a language app so far. I like the "roll" mechanism very much. However, unless I am missing something, there isn't a quick way to enter umlauts when searching from German->English. For example, the words that begin with a vowel-umlaut are at the end of the roll, after Z. So to get to U-umlaut you have to just scroll through everything else first. It's not ideal. If the app could recognize 'vowel-e' as an umlaut that would be great. When I tried experimenting with typing vowel-punctuation marks, I even had the app crash when I entered a bullet point. Also, as others have mentioned, the number of entries could be larger, but it tends to be useful at least half of the times I tried to use it in Germany/Austria.

Simply amazing app! By: Thunderstore - Sep 14, 2009 Version: 1.2 Very good application works offline at a reasonal price. Helpful in emergency situations also. I like the way it scroll up and down, it's fun to use.
Superb...but gender designations in wrong column By: Magdelene - Jun 14, 2009 Version: 1.2 Excellent and east to use...addition of genders was great, yet gender designations should appear on the German side of the English to German translation where they are most needed, thus requiring two lookups.
Chuck Norris By: Admiralcaldwell - May 20, 2009 Version: 1.2 It's rare that you find a good, functional language app, but this is defenetly one of them. It has all the features of the codesign Translator but you don't need Internet! (and of course it only does german)
Translation By: Demetre R - May 11, 2009 Version: 1.2 Wow this is the ticket. I also got the Linguo program. These two apps are so great!!! It also has audio to help you with the pronunciation. You wont have any problems and the best part is that its offline and cheap!!
A good buy By: M-Saunders - 28-Jul-2009 Version: 1.2 Very fast; doesn't have detailed definitions but great for quick checking.
Woow By: jackblume - 20-Jun-2009 Version: 1.2 Amazing. An incredible app for german or english learners and speakers. I thought it was excellent before I realised it worked offline. It's very well designed, tidy, easy to use and instant. Buy buy buy, such a bargain!!!
