Fabulous radar! Needs one little thing.. By: Tamanzi - Mar 18, 2009 Version: 1.3 This is a fabulous application for those, who like my husband, have work where rain can be a disastrous event, and you need to know how close it may be. Although there have been a few other promising apps that deliver pretty well in that area -- none matches the MyWeather Mobile. The trends for temperature, rain chances and wind speed are top-notch as well. The ONLY improvement that I would like to see -- where this app is lacking in relation to other weather apps -- is the addition of a detailed forecast when one clicks on a day in the forecast window. Hope it's on the improvement agenda. Other than that -- outstanding job!
Useless By: BeesoTheWeatherGuy - Mar 18, 2009 Version: 1.3 Horrible app
Forecast completely wrong... Off by 10 degrees
The only useful thing is the radar and u can get similar radars free.
There should be an app to give u your money back when not satisfied, that app would be worth five bucks.
If this app went to court and the judge was a meteorolosit, it would get the death penalty.
wonderfull By: cb49747 - Mar 16, 2009 Version: 1.3 This app is wonderfull. Worked perfect first time. I believe this what the default weather app should be like. A must have for all iphones.
Dissapointing By: FerrariBlack - Mar 16, 2009 Version: 1.3 Database of cities are very small. I paid $9.99, and you can get the same results from USA Today/Weather for free.
Getting there... By: MacDevil7334 - Mar 15, 2009 Version: 1.3 UPDATE (v1.3): While the recent update has made this app even better, there is still one thing that keeps me from giving it five stars. As others have noted, the forecasts are wildly inaccurate. The daily highs are usually in the right ballpark, but the lows often differ by more than 10 degrees from more reputable sources such as the Weather Channel. I'm not sure where this app is getting its data from, but I'm getting rather tired of having to check the Weather Channel app for forecasts because this one is so inaccurate. The radar still makes this app worth the money (especially now that the app is only $5). But seriously, if I am paying for this app, I expect the forecast information to be accurate. With the new 1.1 update, I finally feel this app is worth 15 dollars. While many other weather apps now have radar loops, MyWeather's is still by far the best. You can zoom in down to the street level without any loss of resolution on either the map or the radar image. That alone is almost enough to make this app worth the money. With the new detailed current conditions screen, the majority of my complaints about this app have been addressed. An e-mail from the developers has confirmed that other missing features such as severe weather alerts will be coming in a later update. When that update comes, this app will definitely be worth 5 stars.
This app is incredible! By: DJEaton - Mar 13, 2009 Version: 1.3 The best weather app ever. So glad it went on sale.
Great Weather App By: Tendee - Mar 12, 2009 Version: 1.3 This is a great weather application for the iphone. The full screen "landscape" animated radar is great.I've had no trouble with the app at all, works as advertised and worth the price. The developer responded to a suggestion that I sent via e-mail within a day. Great customer service.*** Update: March 09 ****** Developer implimented my suggestion in latest version. Now that is customer service! ***The overall Itunes rating should be higher for this application.
best weather app! By: codereddewd - Mar 11, 2009 Version: 1.3 Looping radar is pinpoint accurate! I actually had local weather news on at the same time as the app was running and the looping radar was an IDENTICAL match! This is the one (of 3) apps I use every day...usually 3-4 times. I would love to see more details in the weekly forcast in the next update if I were to click on the days.
Best weather app I've found. By: Young Daniel - Mar 10, 2009 Version: 1.3 From the very beginning this app has been one of my favorites. Easily locating the current conditions and forecast for wherever I am by using GPS is a feature that makes an iphone that much more worth the money. I love the quick view of the temp in some of my favorite locations, and the hourly trends really help me plan my days. The only things missing are total rain/snow fall expected and weather alerts. All in all though I say this app delivers the necessary information you look for when checking the weather in a beautiful display.
Only good for the radar By: javider - Mar 8, 2009 Version: 1.3 The temperatures are consistently off. Precip forecasts are hit or miss. The radar is nice, but not that useful unless rain or snow is first predicted correctly in the forecast, which it often isn't. I stopped trusting this as the go-to weather app. I paid $15 because the interface is cool, but if the information is wrong the cool interface doesn't matter. I give it 2 stars only for the radar.
Awesome detail, could run faster By: dcdttu - Mar 7, 2009 Version: 1.3 The app is great, especially since the update. Great animated radar and satellite. Only thing is that I wish the data would load faster, but it is a lot of data.
Not Worth Ten Bucks By: weatherneeder - Mar 6, 2009 Version: 1.3 Not worth $10 by any stretch. App is aesthetically pleasing, but no amount of pretty makes up for faulty content. Significant errors in temp frequently. Current conditions info contradicting info in Trend view. Radar is pretty. Feel like I wasted $8.
Can't trust the temps By: Stupid Kid VII - Mar 5, 2009 Version: 1.4 The radar is fantastic, however the temperatures are ALWAYS off. Do not trust the forecast.
Great By: AbsoluteXero - Mar 3, 2009 Version: 1.3 This weather app has bad forcasting because every 20 minutes the forcast updates what it thinks going to happen.
Excellent App By: RocketApe - Mar 3, 2009 Version: 1.3 Great radar, great trend charts, and great updates! Love the embeded time, but would love to be able to slow down the speed of the animations so I could really see approx what time foul weather will hit. I paid $14.95 months ago and still think it was money VERY well spent. In my line of work, I need to know the weather in the field minute by minute. This "mobile radar" is exactly what I need.
Bloated By: pete2001 - Mar 3, 2009 Version: 1.3 This app used to work on an edge connection. Now it is so bloated that it is unresponsive.
Best weather app I've found yet By: Conejo23 - Mar 2, 2009 Version: 1.3 I emailed the developers with a few questions last week, most specifically I wanted to know the schedule to implement radar looping. They promised it would be out this week. Well voila, here it is, as promised. Gotta love a developer who delivers on his promises. This is a great app, beautifully done. If I could give it 4.5 stars I would. It has what I consider one design flaw and one additional feature that would push it into 5+ star category: the problem is that the radar setting is not persistent. After zooming in to the level you want it, I'd like to see that zoom level retained. But as soon as you go back to portrait view, it’s lost. And the additional feature is the push of weather warnings by locale. Add those two in and this is a 5 star app. As it is, it’s a VERY solid 4 star app and well worth the money.
It has potential By: AppReviewerGuy - Mar 1, 2009 Version: 1.3 I am kind of a weather nut and I purchased this app because of the beautiful radar and overall design. After a month, I rarely find myself using it for a few reasons. First, I want the option to disable the My Weather forecast as I don't leave my home location much and I would rather it not turn on Location Services each time I want to check the forecast- waste of precious battery power. I also would like to see a written forecast (30% chance of rain) for the day along with severe weather alerts. The trending never seems to be correct for precipitation. I keep my fingers crossed that this app will improve as it seems to be off to a good start- just not better than some current web apps.
Lovely but inaccurate...tragically, tragically inaccurate By: Roquentin999 - Feb 28, 2009 Version: 1.3 Regarding version 1.1, I liked it enough, despite a few minor quibbles, that I deleted all the other weather apps from my iPhone (The Weather Channel, AccuWeather, Fizz, WeatherBug), which I'd been bouncing back and forth between until I found the right weather app. On their website, they claim that they have 45% of the broadcast market share for weather data, and they are a 35-year old white-label solution for online weather data. Inspires confidence, doesn't it? Well, I live in Austin and right now the app shows a temp 15 degrees lower than reality. That's way beyond any acceptable margin of error, and this weirdness has happened over and over, unpredictably. Every other app I try consistently shows the correct temp within a few degrees. There doesn't even appear to even be anywhere in the vicinity of Austin that shows the bizarre temperature indicated by MyWeather. At this point there are enough others reporting the same problem that it seems pretty clear something's rotten at the core of this app or the data it captures. What a shame.
Decent app for iPhone... not so sure about iPod touch. By: rael42 - Feb 28, 2009 Version: 1.3 This app might be o.k., but I do have an iPod touch myself and there are two (related) things that make me think I won't be using this as much as some of the other weather programs I've bought. First, there is the "MyWeather" location entry at the top of the page that I can't seem to get rid of. The website shows it as delete-able on one of their screen shots, but when I go to remove it I don't have that option. On a touch this is a pretty much useless entry that clutters up the screen. Second, every time it launches (initially) it asks if it can use your current location. This really doesn't work on the iPod touch (I know it does with some WiFi hotspots but not where I live) and if you accidentally say Yes it turns on Location Services which, I believe, contributes to battery drain as well as not helping a touch much. Again on the iPhone these both would be great features but I do wish (hope for updates) the feature could be turned off on the iPod touch somewhere in settings. I will continue to play around with it and I don't want to detract from the application, I just think iPod touch owners may want to know these things beforehand.
Update. In addition to my above comments, this program seems to be very inaccurate. I've removed it from my iPod.
Overpriced By: Ragland T. Tiger - Feb 27, 2009 Version: 1.3 Just get the Weather Channel app. This app is not worth $9.99. I find it to be very inaccurate as well.
