The fact that I can't listen to my own music when playing the game really makes it hard for me to enjoy winding down with a game of scrabble before bed. Why would you build an app with no option to turn off sound?

love the game, but i'm only rating one star until the sound issue is corrected as others have brought up. opening sequence is way too loud and really should give control to the phone's sound controls. when the phone is set to silent, it should be silent. listening to my own music as i play would be an obvious feature as well... game play itself is fine, why screw it up by so simple flaws?

I wish I could undo the update. The game was much better before. Now it's ruined. Too many clicks to get to the actual game. Options screen comes up every time you start a new game. No more abandon game button so you have to go through the whole start game process again, and are forced to see options screen again. Also it seems like the letters you get are much worse. I keep getting all vowels and Vs over and over. Undo the update please. Also if you are going to put multiple dictionary options, why not include the official Scrabble dictionary? Oh and did I mention: please undo the update.

Good game, but lose the annoying start-up sound!

This is a good game overall, but it has one serious issue - the very loud, annoying start-up sound that cannot be turned off. Fix this, and i'll submit a higher rating.

this is so lame that I can't turn off the startup sound! I know you guys want to announce to the world how great you are, but I don't.

If you read the reviews you will find many satisfied users. However, I cannot get SCRABBLE to run without crashing. When I check the reviews, I see *many* other buyers are finding the same thing. Pay the $9.99 and then the program crashes after getting past the splash screen. Like others, I have not been able to play a single time. Contacted Apple, they cleared me for a fresh download -- no change. Obviously there is some combination of elements in an iphone that will cause this program to crash. I recommend you not buy SCRABBLE until its publishers run this problem to ground.

Sorry to say it but this program is a piece of crap. i can't even play it. it opens, shows the pretty scrabble screen then it trys to load up the menu and it crashes. everytime. Basically I just paid $10.81 for a non-working application. REFUND PLEASE!!!Don't bother buying this app. its a waste of money

I want my money back. EA and Apple have a lot of nerve selling something that doesn't work properly. Obviously looking at all of these reviews, it is a problem. Fix it EA and stop taking our money for something that has not been tested and doesn't work!!!!!

The game worked a couple of times and now it crashes everytime I try to start it up. I wasted my money and there is no way to get a refund or to report problem. No support at all! Wait until there is a better version that fixes all the problems. My iPhone did not crash, Thank God, but I am getting rid of it because I don't want that to happen.

I'm a huge fan of Scrabble (I play it on Facebook, on a board and on my old cell phone). I had it on my old Sony Ericsson w810i and it was great on there. I was really excited to have it on the iPhone but never had a chance to play. It CRASHES every single time! How can EA (one of the biggest game developers in the world) mess up on such a simple (yet fun) game like Scrabble?!?! Very disappointing... I've purchased a half dozen games on the App Store and dozens of free apps and never had a crash problem. Really pathetic EA! I definitely won't be buying any games from you again....

I don't normally write reviews but I had to for this one. It is a great program, but you can't play it. It just froze my phone for 5 mins. THEY HAVE TO FIX IT. No other program does this. Apple should reallly take this off the shelf until Electronic Arts fixes the app. So my advice is "Don't buy until they Fix it!!!"

Save your money until they fix it - after about the 6th game, it quit working. It will spend 10 sec doing the flying tiles, but the game will not stay up and crashes. I'm glad I still have the scrabble on my Palm, now if I can just get it back from my child.

CRASH CITY

It worked well for a few days, then doesn't even get past the opening screen and then turns off. There is no way to redownload it without paying and no recourse from Apple to get a refund. I'm very disappointed in the whole app experience after this one. Very buggy. Freezes the screen and requires a hard restart almost every time.
