Good game, but app crashes
By: JPSabo - Jul 26, 2008
Version: 1.0.20
The game play is fine. However, the app sometimes crashes at startup and causes the iPhone to reboot. Also, occasional crashes during game play occur and you get returned to the home screen. Should a new version be planned, network or wi-fi play could be a nice feature.

Great game but needs bug fix
By: Socal76 - Jul 27, 2008
Version: 1.0.20
This is the best game I've played from appStore but it does crash a lot and requires a reboot to work again...for the price you pay I would expect EA to update this software...lots if fun when it works though and mulitplayer is (supposedly) coming soon

Upgraded version looks good so far
By: Kimbolene - Jul 29, 2008
Version: 1.0.26
I've just downloaded the upgrade for Scrabble and the whole game seems to be much quicker now, and no random crashes so far. I loved the game anyway and put up with the bugs, but it looks like things might have stabilised.

Great App
By: Triumphant_Anch - Aug 1, 2008
Version: 1.0.20
Awesome game play, sleek UI, and fun multiplayer. Might be better if you could play against others online. As for the Scrabulous thing -- there's a little something called trademark law. No one cares that scrabulous copied the game. They just shouldn't have jacked the scrabble name. Grow up, kiddies. Daddy wouldn't be able to buy you iphones and xboxes without laws protecting his business.

Great version for the iPhone
By: kevin0611 - Aug 2, 2008
Version: 1.0.26
I was a little skeptical about playing Scrabble on such a small screen but they did a great job designing it. The latest update has made it very stable and it loads a lot quicker than before. The only things I would love to see added would be for it to keep a running score of your word as you place the tiles (you only know your score after you play the word...unless you want to bust out a pen and paper and do it manually...I didn't think so) and if you could place an arrow on the board where you want your word to begin then you could just tap your letters and they would automatically zoom into place. This is how several PC/Mac versions do it and it's a big time saver.Other than that...I love it. I also love the few game variations that allow you to play a quick game with a friend.

Good game, nice to have on ipod
By: Boomerny - Sep 20, 2008
Version: 1.0.53
I've been loading up my ipod touch with games and wanted this one but the $10 price kept me away. I'm not a huge Scrabble player, but its fun and with the sale going on I couldn't pass up. It was worth it at $8 for a once-in-a-while player like me.

Just one problem
By: AskRyan - Sep 24, 2008
Version: 1.0.53
Great app in a perfect medium for Scrabble - dragging tiles, pinch & zoom, etc. Only one minor (major for me) problem, and that's the intro sound. It plays despite all hardware settings, and is very intrusive when it does so. I play this on the train to work in the morning, so I have to be quick to muffle the speaker with my hand. Anyway we could get this to mute when the phone is mute, dear developers?

Love it but lose the intro splash screen
By: ScrabbleJunkie - Oct 20, 2008
Version: 1.0.53
I LOVE this game! I even play it in my car while waiting at a signal light--I can often get in a word or two that way. But please lose the excruciatingly long splash / intro screen animation. It kills me that I have to sit through that every time I start it up. I am so addicted, otherwise. It's totally improved my game! Also, like the suggestion to fill a word on the board by just touching the tiles in the rack once I've placed the first tile on the board. The version I downloaded for my Mac does this. Would make the iPhone version much better.

Under-rated
By: rascalley - Nov 24, 2008

This is as good an adaptation of Scrabble as I could hope for. If you have bad eyes you might want to stick to the real thing.

pretty fun

my girlfriend and I have fun playing each other. could use an update to not crash often in multiplayer mode and prob could be cheaper. not bad though.

A good game
By: ReiderJ - Dec 18, 2008
Version: 1.0.53
I find myself playing this game way more than any responsible person ought to. It's fun. I wish that they had balanced the difficulty levels better: the computer makes obviously stupid plays on normal, and is impossible to lose to, but on hard it's ridiculously tough to play against.

Haypi world - MMO iPhone Game

One of my favorite games for iPhone
By: Cheesekeeper - Dec 28, 2008
Version: 1.0.53
This game launches and runs perfectly on my 1st Generation iPhone - it's never crashed. It does take a very long time to load, which unfortunately seems to be normal for Electronic Arts on iPhone. The game itself has a good interface, while keeping the Scrabble feel. It's a great deal of fun to play as well.I would like it if I could turn off the best word feature, or elect to limit it in some way - sometimes it's just too tempting. Further, I would REALLY like to see a dictionary. There are words the computer player comes up with I've NEVER heard of, and can't find in "normal" dictionaries. I'm not a Scrabble enthusiast really, so I'm not familiar with Scrabble dictionaries, but I'd enjoy it if I could use this as a vocabulary-building experience. And so that I can know the computer player isn't cheating. I mean, "Shaqtastic" can't be a real word, can it?

New game addiction
By: fiberlyone - Dec 28, 2008
Version: 1.0.53
I love Scrabble and this is good take along version. The graphics are good and it plays well. The dictionary is fairly complete, but it does exclude some obscure but real words.

Very well executed some cons

Very well made game. Has a tendency to crash and loads slowly.

Very Fun to Play, Minor issues
By: Erica LE - Jan 9, 2009
Version: 1.0.53
Needs a way to turn off "Best Word" (where the computer auto generates a word for you to play with). it's especially annoying when you are playing with multiple people. It takes the fun out of the game. Usually when playing "Pass and Play" where you take a turn then pass the ipod for the next player) we agree not to use "Best Word". Still just annoying that it is there as an option. Would be nice to be able to enter the player's name and have it say "John's turn" just to be super clear who's go it is. Also would like to be able to add words to the dictionary, or turn off the dictionary altogether for times when you and your opponent agree on a word that the computer won't accept. Also needs a timer when playing with someone else. Not a timer that cuts you out completely, but just a warning so my opponent will put something down so I just have to wait a reasonable amount of town. For me it only took 9 seconds to load on my 2G Touch. I haven't had any loading or crashing problems. It's very annoying that when you resume a game it does that whole EA then Scrabble graphics/sound thing. I understand the first time you play, but every-time you check an email and come back to the game is too much.I think I followed Ron9k's instructions to get music to play while playing but I still can't get it to work. (It seems to work on my other games but not this one). Music fades when you start playing. What do you mean exactly by "5) Press the remote/mic to resume listening to your Playlist". I double clicked the circle button, the play button pops up, I click play but as soon as I return to the game the music fades again. Also, do not turn on "DUPLICATE" I do not think it works properly in pass and play mode. This option give you and your opponent the same tiles to make words with, its strange and you would never play that way in the original version.Anyway it could use these and a couple small improvements on 2 player versions. Overall though it is a good game to play.. I hope the creators review all of the great suggestions in other reviews. The game is mostly there, but needs a few tweaks.

Pretty Awesome
By: sibergrrl - Jan 9, 2009
Version: 1.0.53
the game is beautifully designed and executed. I will join with others in begging for that intro music to be able to be muted and that there be a standard dictionary reference. I've been shocked by the words accepted and rejected, seemingly randomly. otherwise and for the most part a great game.

Good, but
By: mildop1 - Jan 14, 2009

If all sounds are off in the settings, it shouldn't play noise on start up

Awesome!!!

Good game - just needs better dictionary
By: Barney's owner - Jan 26, 2009
Version: 1.0.53
Good game for the money - it only needs a better dictionary. Works well for killing time when waiting for appointments, etc. Does not recognize some relatively common words and doesn't have an option for adding a word that you know is a word. I play this on an iPod Touch and have not had any problems with crashing but also have not tried to play over a network.Just expand the dictionary, please!

Love it but...
By: Drhoniebee - Feb 1, 2009
Version: 1.0.53
As with other reviewers it would be nice to have a viewable dictionary. Also the option to challenge when playing with others. I had Scrabble on my palm and you had the option to play a "friendly" or "tournament" style game which basically gave you the option to look up words as you played or lose a turn if the word you played did not exist. Also, agreeing with other reviewers I would appreciate the option to listen to my own music rather than the game's porno-lounge track. I love scrabble but I play this game significantly less because of this (as a subway rider sometimes you need to not hear the sounds around you.). Thanks
