how do you get to the built in dictionary?
By: Dr.EyePod - Sep 28, 2009
A top grossing app and my favorite since it was first introduced, and you "update" with an ad after every game????? Plus, now for the first time I experience crashes [complete] when I try to use "options". PLEASE UNDO THE UPDATE!!!!!!!

Needs:1) push notifications when it's your turn(even for facebook games)2) play other iPhones directly over cell network3) faster loadup times. An intro then a loading screen followed by waiting on 2 more waiting screen to get into a facebook game is too tedious. Overall a very good application that is only missing the final coat of refining to make it great.
I was wrong about the upgrade

My mistake - the features I love are still there! It took someone to show me how to navigate the new menus; the choice of game and time options were relocated to a different screen. 4stars! - Cat
dictionary link, please!

Love this game, play it all the time; sometimes vs. my wife and/or son, often by myself vs. the computer. I only gave it 4 instead of 5 stars becuase I think a wonderful addtion would be to add a dictionary link for words the computer has come up with. This would make it as educational as it is fun.

I love playing this game. I play when I wake up, to wake up my brain, and before I sleep, to put me out, plus so many hours in between. I now play solo, rather than against a person or computer. BUT, how do I know if I'm any good? A leaderboard for each category would be awesome! I just got 623, and am so pumped!!!

Very good game, but features could be improved. Add Bluetooth multiplayer support and a dictionary to look up words in and this would be worth five stars.

I recommend the game for sure. Buy it ---but be aware of some things that should be changed:No head to head play over bluetooth or the net. That would have been great. No way to set "use best word" to unlimited - which can be fun to see if you know the words it uses. I think it's limited to three per game.I didn't find a dictionary to check what words mean. I like that feature. The Mac version has "define last word played."The biggest thing they got wrong was the color of the "special" squares. The colors should be: Light Blue = Double Letter Score, Bark Blue=Triple Letter score, Pink = Double Word Score, Dark Red=Triple Word Score, and Star should be beigeThe colors are: Blue = Double Letter Score, Green=Triple Letter score, Red = Double Word Score, Orange=Triple Word Score, and Star is blueThe board does not change orientation when you move the iphone from portrait to landscape.Would be nice to be able to skip the opening animations with a tap.But buy it if you like Scrabble, it's worth the $9.99.
Facebook game play finally fixed!
By: mgmiller68 - Sep 29, 2009
I bought this game not long after I purchased my iPhone 3G last year, and I've enjoyed it very much, but it gets tiring playing against the iPhone, and I find the only true challenge is to play against the iPhone in the 'Hard' level of difficulty, but it's way too hard (EA should rename it to the 'Expert' level). The 'Easy' and 'Normal' levels are too easy and there's no true 'Medium' level of difficulty that slots between 'Normal' and 'Hard' -- out of playing against the iPhone at least a hundred times in the 'Hard' mode, I've only won maybe 4 or 5 times (the iPhone comes up with words I've never heard of in my entire life). Then EA came out with Facebbok play for Scrabble, but I was never interested in joining Facebook. However, I changed my mind a few months ago, after which I discovered that my Facebook connection would never connect successfully with the Scrabble server -- another reviewer wrote that it depends on exactly when you joined Facebook, due to a bug identified (by EA???). Well, EA finally fixed the bug last week with its latest update, and so it finally works!Although I now much more enjoy playing Scrabble against other people on Facebook, I've discovered that it has its flaws (by both EA and the Facebook players). With the Facebook players, why do all these people get in a game if they're not going to devote themselves to playing at that particular time of day? (sometimes, it takes over 24 hours for 1 player in the game to take his/her turn, often a couple of hours or so). Here's EA's flaw in Facebook Scrabble play: You can't nudge a player to make his/her move often times until over 24 hours have passed by. Why can't EA set it to only, say, 1 hour before 1 player can nudge the other player? 24+ hours is way too long to wait to be able to nudge someone. Other than that, I love playing over Facebook, especially if you can get a game going of over 3 players.Forget about informing EA of any bugs you might find or if you have any questions or concerns, as their user support is almost zero (read other people's reviews and you'll understand what I'm saying). Last December I informed them of a poosible bug I found in their iPhone Monopoly game, but to this day they have never responded.Speaking of EA's Monopoly for the iPhone, has anyone else noticed besides me that ever since last week's update, if you choose after finishing a game of Scrabble to see what other iPhone apps EA offers, the long awaited 'Classic' version of Monopoly is an available choice? Well, I'm sad to say it's not, because if you choose within the Scrabble game to put the 'Classic' version of Monopoly in your shopping cart, it takes you to a web page saying this app hasn't been released on the iPhone yet -- if you search for it in the Apps Store, you won't find it (interestingly, the 'Here and Now' edition of iPhone Monopoly isn't a choice of available apps after choosing in Scrabble to see what other EA apps are available for the iPhone, even though it is in the Apps Store). I'm hoping this means that the 'Classic' version of Monopoly will soon be released to the iTunes Apps Store, which I am anxiously awaiting.I hope you found my review informative and helpful in deciding whether or not to buy Scrabble for the iPhone.Best wishes to you all!

There are two things that need to bs changed. 1) It needs the rulebook. 2) I don't agree with the new layout from the latest update. It made it difficult to switch game settings. Otherwise this game is great. I've had I for weeks and I still enjoy playing it. Worth the $5!!
some features haven't been removed

now you need to go to options, click on quick play setup, and change to pass n' play etc. etc.

Great App, I really like it. Scrabble has always been a faverite. I would like to have a built in dictionary added, so I can look up words in game. Other than that, it's a great game.

Wifi worked great on my old iPhone and still does, says I have no network connection on my 3GS.

I really like this application and I play it all the time. But I am yet to play with someone online. It always says cannot find an opponent.
It works for me.

Everything is working fine for me and no pop-ups.
Great app! Needs to use the actual Scrabble Dictionary
By: Lightnotions - Oct 5, 2009
I really like this app, play it constantly. The only thing I wish was that they would use the actual scrabble dictionary instead of the ones they have. It would really make this app great!

Great game! I'm a Scrabble fanatic! Definitely worth the $$!!
This is the best game ever

It's worth every penny
Good app... But
By: ScottyfromBI - Sep 26, 2009
I think this is a very good app and i like the upgrades but I agree that it was a mistake for the developer to try to steer you to their other apps in what is essentially an advertisment splash page with an in your face button taking you out of the app to their website. At the very least I would like to see an option to turn this feature off if not wanted since this is not a free app. Otherwise well worth the price of admission.
