This app is massive in the states. The only problem is that they took too long to release it here so competitors have a large share of the market. This is clearly the best app of it's type but it needs more people to write reviews. What are you waiting for?

I use this ap all the time and I love how it uses your current location to find stuff your looking for. Here's the only thing I want from this ap right now: Allow people to log in and post reviews from their iPhone. That's it. Otherwise, it is amazing.

Not very thorough for Canadian users. No tim hortons. No shoppers drug mart. Etc, etc. Once they add more locations the program will be usable. Might be better for American users.

Man, these guys never learn from their experiences. With this update, once you make a call from the app, it won't bring you back to the app and you'll stay in the phone function instead. Please do your updates by enhancing the feature and not interrupting existing features. And please run tests on updates before releasing.

It finds the same places that, the native Google Maps app finds so no change there but in the UK the killer bit is missing. There are no reviews! I searched for Pizza in Birmingham and got B'ham Alabama instead. Tried again B'ham UK and got NOTHING! That's just terrible. I can see it being a huge hit in the future when there are actually some reviews on it though.

Saved the day for my kids!

I was recently in the San Francisco Bay Area and needed to find some playgrounds to burn off my kids' energy and Yelp rescued me with great user posted reviews of nearby playgrounds!

This app is simply incredible! Even if ur not a yelp customer it still accesses all points of interest nearby! I live in the uk and it's great for finding little shops which I didn't even know existed. PLEASE put £'s in a new update as all the previous reviews as well as mine are asking for it but other than that it's a MUST download!

Monocle doesn't know east from west

This is a handy little app for finding good restaurants, pubs and all sorts of businesses. Perhaps the app isn't quite ready for primetime in the UK yet, as it still uses dollar signs($) instead of pounds(£), for example. Plus Yelp.co.uk is fairly new to the UK, so the reviews are slightly limited, although they do seem to be building quickly. If you are traveling to the US, I think this app would greatly enhance your visit. Yelp has been around in the US for years and there's a wealth of information here. This app points you to the good places.

Really useful when out and about, very easy to link straight through from the listing to directions in google maps, phone no etc. To make it five stars for future updates would be good to have ability to add a review straight from the app (at moment you can only read other people's reviews and need to open up yelp in Safari to add your own). Also please localise for UK (£s rather than $s, 'chemists' rather than 'drugstores' etc)

No idea what the "monocle" feature is. A few things I don't like about thus app:A. Can't add friends from the appB. Can't write and post reviews. Can only draft the reviews. C. Not as fully functioned as the website.

This app is very useful when I'm on the go with friends looking for a place to get our mack on. However, I'm a slave to my iPhone. I probably use it to connect to the net more than my Mac. So being able to maintain my Yelp profile and post reviews on the iPhone would be nice.
