Not worth $10 yet By: svrichards - Jul 14, 2008 Version: 1.0 This app could be great, but without the ability to pick individual feeds or tags it is almost unusable. For people like myself with hundreds of feeds we need this funtionality. Maybe after an update it will be better.
Great first version By: EternalCow - Jul 14, 2008 Version: 1.0 Google Reader is my primary means of reading and organizing my news, so this app is perfect for me. However, I have one folder of subscriptions that I read religiously, while the others I only read when I get a chance. Since ByLine doesn't support tags, I have to slog through all the less-important information to get to the stories I want. Hopefully this will be fixed in a future version.
Byline is a good off-line news reader By: sdalek - Jul 14, 2008 Version: 1.0 At least as good as Avantgo for Windows CE devices. A bit slow on synchronizing the pages attached to the RSS feeds however that's most likely a function of network connectivity NOT a flaw in the application particularly as it does not optimize the website for small screen viewing; You get the whole page, ads and all. It would be nice to be able to sort feeds by source and to control how many articles are synchronized but that may be something for the future.
Great App. One problem... By: iphonenotify - Jul 14, 2008 Version: 1.0 I am writing a good review because I have hope that phantom fish will add a "mark all as read" function. If they don't have updates I will be very sad. :(
It will do By: Sethwardo - Jul 13, 2008 Version: 1.0 Not a bad rss feed reader only complaint is no direct add for feeds. They must be added from google
A good start By: Mihai P. - Jul 13, 2008 Version: 1.0 The UI is nice and clean, and basic functionality works as advertised. However, the app is missing many features, even when compared to the Reader iPhone web app. For example, it would be good to be able to pick between folders and subscriptions. The offline caching is helpful, but it seems to take quite a while to download all that it needs, even over WiFi.
Does what is says on the tin but leaves you wanting more By: ksnyde - Jul 13, 2008 Version: 1.0 I like that it integrates with your Google Reader list but that it didn't allow you to filter down to just one RSS or one of the TAG's you setup on reader makes the whole experience pretty unimpressive. I suspect most people will get as much from going to their web browser and accessing Google's Reader instead.
