Actually a great little app By: critic-of-bassistcritic - Aug 11, 2009 Version: 1.2.2 The problems people complain about here are related to the limitations of the iPhone.
I've played with, bought, and used the others but keep coming back to this little app. The other apps (minus one) suffer from the same limits.
Check the forums on how to set up your iPhone properly and you'll get a nice, easy to use data set on your travels.
Outdated By: Sail2byz - Aug 8, 2009 Version: 1.2.2 Better apps out there. What about lattitude?

Help By: Bonimex - Jul 30, 2009 Version: 1.2.2 I will like to know how I look on google map for tracking
It does what it says By: Glory.Man - Jul 29, 2009 Version: 1.2.2 This app is exactly what I've been looking for. Was pointed to it from komando.com. It's to be used to allow yourself or others to track trip progress or current location. Great for parents who want to track the youth group or scout trips. Good if you want family or corporate headquarters to track your travel or sales calls. As instructed, it requires free registration with instamapper.com. I love it! While people complain about the Apple limitation of having to have the application always open to work, mine still tracks me if I let the phone shut down (Auto-Lock) with the app still open.
Excellent App - Can have many more features By: Wrick - Jul 27, 2009 Version: 1.2.2 This app is exactly what I wanted - it tracks me in real-time (but I have to keep the app open on the phone which drains the battery) and I can let my friends see me on Google Maps on Facebook or on their site where I have been. The iPhone's GPS is bad indoors but it works great outdoors. Some points:1. When it has no GPS lock, it just shows locating even when accuracy is as high as 20 m. The developer did not provide the user the option to send (approximate) position without GPS lock.2. It buffers the last 100 positions in case you are offline but the GPS is working. This is neat - I wish it could buffer more.3. I wish in place of "locating ... " it showed the actual accuracy and gave me the option to transmit data without GPS lock.4. I also would like to see a trip feature where I can start and end trips and also see my friend's locations.Otherwise, I would give this app a 2 thumbs up.
Poopy By: Jdejdis - Jul 25, 2009 Version: 1.2.2 Dumb..... And no, it can't track other iPods or iPhones.

To Matt#11 By: Nathan Kalish - Jul 20, 2009 Version: 1.2.2 It can't send you updates on it's location only any person who finds it knows where they are
Works great By: F.Corsiglia - Jul 19, 2009 Version: 1.2.2 This app works just like it says it will
Its always accurate when I use it and I've had it for months now.
Never had a problem.

GPS Trakker V1.2.2 worth trying out By: WPR_Techguy - Jul 17, 2009 Version: 1.2.2 If you haven't downloaded GPS tracking software for your iPhone, this free app gives you a feel for what this technology can do. It's got very limited features but it works - and it's free! When you first download it, it's a little confusing since the iPhone app simply sends information on your latitude and longitude to their server every N seconds. You need to log into their server using a browser, set up your account, paste in a device key number they send you in an email into your account so it knows it's you and which device you're using (you can have more than one). Then, well, you have to experiment. Set up was pretty simple although, being in the US, I had to look up what "Imperial units" means (feet, miles etc). Once you start the iPhone app and decide how accurate you want the system to be, just let it run. Even though the iPhone screen will time out, it will keep working, reporting your position. Later you can log into their web site and view your "trail" on a Google Map. You can change the number of GPS "sample points" to view back in time and even print it out. I watched my progress on the "Back 9" of my local golf course! Too bad it can't locate my lost ball on the 14th fairway. Now that they've given us a taste, they need to add to their feature set and charge a few dollars for it. Allow us to save a range of GPS readings so we can refer to them later. Allow the map to be full screen instead of the smaller "window" they provide for larger viewing and printing. Trying to view the resulting map on the iPhone can be strange because if you zoom too close into the map window, you can't unzoom to the overview page - Google then thinks you want to zoom in and out of the map! Allow an option to see the distance between all sample points and between any range of sample points. If you're tracking your "walk", it'll tell you how far you walked, even if it's around a lake. My next test will have it running (double bagged) while I sail our lake. FYI Since this app is running continuously, my battery appeared to drop about 1% every 10 minutes or so. Be forewarned!
Pass on this one!!!! By: Whooops - Jul 17, 2009 Version: 1.2.2 This thing does absolutely nothing but tell you where you are. The only thing it tracks is how many idiots install it. Those people who gave it 5 stars probably wrote the dumb thing

A short story... By: tanakasan - Jul 12, 2009 Version: 1.2.2 New 3Gs iPhone. Installed this app. GPS suddenly WAY OFF!.Did a restore, reinstalled app. Same result. Genius Bar appointment for replacement (1 week old) phone b/c I thought it was hardware related. Second 3Gs, installed this app. SAME RESULT! GPS anywhere from 1 block to 1 mile off.Did a second restore to the replacement phone and did not install this app. Its been 2 days and the GPS is still spot on.Free app...Kudos to Instamapper!! But it crippled *my* GPS therefore rendering the app and all other GPS ability useless.
