Love it By: Futuregrace - Dec 27, 2010 Version: 5.0 Love the app, but wish they would fix a crash bug in the reading plan.
New update is awful By: Ironchef Hawaiian - Dec 27, 2010 Version: 5.0 Warning: Greek and Hebrew fonts are gone; lots of scrolling where it was unnecessary before. A huge step back. I will NOT update my ipad. I had to redownload all my resources. What I could do with 3 taps, now takes 5 taps and up to 5 swipes. How in the world is that "progress"?Grade: D-
Used to love it By: lovin' my apps - Dec 27, 2010 Version: 5.0 Hey! Please put the old book/chapter/verse chooser back on there! I hate the scrolling. I like seeing all the books at the same time; and, by the looks of others' comments, I'm not the only one! PLEASE change it back! Then I will fix my rating!
I like it By: AlmostThereForMe - Dec 27, 2010 Version: 5.0 I didn't have many highlights so the problem of them being deleted on upgrade doesn't bother me.I like the new setup. And unlike what some have complained about, one has the option of choosing scriptures the old way... Just needs to familiarize oneself with the program. There are some cool new features as well.Works perfect on my i4.UpdateWhen using a reading plan the app crashes all the time
Good but needs work By: Crudder eagle - Dec 27, 2010 Version: 5.0 All my notes and highlighting are gone as is Evernote backup and sync for them - it shows up but does not sync them back in I also am not able to customize, the highlighting colors unless they are created new This version, so far, has some real disappointments, but much promise if the fixes are forthcoming.
Good app, lacking international translations By: Report a Concern - Version: Upgrade was what I was looking for! Searching for key words is much easier now. I don't have to do an advanced search anymore! Also, searching by book helps me tremendously! Thanks!
Harder to find verses By: RightOnTarget1 - Dec 26, 2010 Version: 5.0 The new version makes it much harder to quickly locate passages. Please change back. This was my preferred reader. With the new interface, I will look for another.
A Little Disappointed By: Emanuel Elizondo - Dec 26, 2010 Version: 4.12.5 The update is not too bad. The interface for choosing the reference is definitely better thought. What really disappointed me is the lack of the full screen that this app used to have. It was wonderful. Now, it's ok, but there are other apps like it. Sometimes I like to have my English text and the Greek text in the split screen, but now it seems there isn't enough space for both. I really hope they at least add the option of having a real full screen in the near future, otherwise I might start looking around again.
Hate the new update! By: Myselfs - Dec 26, 2010 Version: 5.0 Made the mistake of updating. I've never seen an update that TAKES AWAY it's user-friendly features. I believe they need to release a roll-back update to the previous version. I fell cheated. Not to mention the search engine doesn't work at all now. I look up a word and it shows the same passage for each reference. Glitch. Give me the old version please!
GREAT UPDATE By: Fr. D+ - Dec 26, 2010 Version: 4.12.5 The latest version of this app is tremendous, making it the BEST, easiest to use Bible Reader app out there, in my humble opinion. As a parish priest, I now have all the tools I need on iPad for all my teaching, study, sermon preparation, and personal meditation. If I have to say anything to the contrary, it would simply be that some of the resources are pricey, but that is the case with any version of the Bible or resource that isn't in the public domain wherever you find it, other than the public library. This new update puts Olive Tree on par with any e-reader app, and it can do much more than a simple e-reader. Thank you, Olive Tree, and may God continue to bless you ministry.
New version By: sgtgrantham - Dec 26, 2010 Version: 5.0 I hate the new update. I do not like the swiping up and down to change books and verses. Bring back the old one.
Great Upgrade By: Brojoesc - Dec 26, 2010 Version: 5.0 A great upgrade. Thank you!
Still The Best By: rwscull - Dec 25, 2010 Version: 5.0 BR5 has a few minor bugs that need to be fixed. I'm sure the good folks at Olive Tree will be getting them done right. A lot of issues including the verse chooser are addressed in the Learning Videos. Watch them before complaining about something. No app is perfect or will please everyone. But IMHO BR5 is still the best Bible App out there. Loaded with bells and whistles. Only keeps getting better. Five stars when they fix the small bugs.
New Update By: femmster - Dec 25, 2010 Version: 5.0 the new updated version
Changing my review By: Streamhawk - Dec 25, 2010 Version: 5.0 Found that you can get the Verse Chooser Grid view back and all other improvements are great like the fact that now on iPhone we have Book/Chapter/Verse to get faster to a specific place. Thanks!!!
Blown away by version 5! By: macnut - Dec 25, 2010 Version: 5.0 Just upgraded to version 5 today and I'm blown away by how useful the despise guide is! As I read the bible, Olive Tree Bible Reader gathers all the useful information from every other book I have in my library and displays it to the right. As I turn the page, it updates the info! I can explore people, tags, places, references, etc., all by just clicking on the reference to the right. It is like this feature unlocks the info hidden in my library in books I seldom read. Love it!
OMG! I love it! By: m4lmx - Dec 25, 2010 Version: 5.0 I agree with Steven, this upgrade is awesome!!!! I can tell that much hard work, time and effort went into it also...Wow, you guys are just great. Keep up the good work and Merry Christmas! God bless and keep you :O)
Awesome Update! By: RearCog - Dec 25, 2010 Version: 5.0 Love the new update. The resource guide is amazing! Syncing notes between my iPhone and iPad is sweet. The features go so deep. Click on a word, look it up in dictionaries, find maps on it. WOW!
Wipes Out Highlights By: TheLeopard418 - Dec 24, 2010 Version: 5.0 DO NOT UPGRADE UNLESS YOU'RE WILLING TO LOSE ALL HIGHLIGHTS.There was NO warning that all of my highlights would be wiped out, so that's that. There are no instructions in the program or on the website for 5.0.I've been using this program every day since I got my iPad six months ago, and I really liked it. I hope there is a fix for this issue ...
Okay By: €hR!$ - Dec 24, 2010 Version: 5.0 I really like the new UI on the iPad, but its horrible on the iPhone. But why didn't you keep the old verse chooser? The animation for it was so neat. I don't like the new one at all. You guys should take some of the best features in the old app and incorporate them into the new one. Also, I'd really like the old icon back. It was plain and simple and blended in. The new one sticks out and just doesn't look right.
Scrolling problem on iPhone 4 now 6 months old By: Fledge31 - Dec 24, 2010 Version: 5.0 You still didn't fix this glaring problem. All the other "improvements" are not well executed. What happened to you guys? Aren't you listening to us anymore?
