It's the best bible app By: kupunapril - Sep 10, 2009 Version: 4.08 Well it's the best bible app I have tried so far you can take you notes right in the app which I have not found one like that and that's the reason i like the app the mostIt would be great if they had a feature where you could upload your notes to yourcomputer or your account so you wouldent loose them and or make it possible that you could send your notes to an email Also it would be great to have a scrole to find the book, chapter, then the verse would also be greatUntill then I give the app a 4 but if they do the 2 updates then they get a 5
Olive Tree Bible software By: Luvbird - Sep 7, 2009 Version: 4.08 The Olive Tree ap offers a number of amazing variety of Bible study tools and inspirational books. They selected many of the classic books I have been longing to read and are now at my fingertips with the touch of my iPhone. I thank the Lord for Olive Tree's generosity to bless me with hours of Bible study and inspiration and for Apple who created their multi-functional iPhone.
Good Bible Reader from Outstanding Company. Olivetree Just Keeps Improving. By: GTD Meister - Sep 7, 2009 Version: 4.08 I have used Olivetree Bible products for 9 years on the Palm platform, and now on a iPod Touch. The iPod Touch/iPhone reader is yet not as robust as that for the Palm, but rest assured that Olivetree will continue to add functionality to what is already a good Bible reader. This company has an outstanding selection, much of which has already been ported over to the iPod platform (and TONS of FREE Bible versions and material. The prices for copyrighted versions can't be beat, I mean, $4.99 for the NKJV?!??!! Great selection of academic resources, Greek, Hebrew, etc.Look no further, Olivetree has been a great partner in handheld Bible resources and I unhesitatingly recommend it and its products.
Very good, but... By: SteveinSC - Aug 27, 2009 Version: 4.001.0007 It really, really needs copy functionality, so we can paste text into other apps/docs.
I love the way Olive Tree keeps making it better! Split screen, bookmarks and notes features great. By: TurnoTrojan - Aug 22, 2009 Version: 4.08 New split screen is Awesome!!!
Great app By: revrod - Aug 22, 2009 Version: 4.08 I've been using Olive Tree's BibleReader on various platforms for the last 10 years. I was pleased when it came out for the iPhone and enjoyed the recent updates. All the Bibles I've purchased through the years are available to me and I use it often for study and sermon preparation. I'm not yet at the point where I will preach from it at the pulpit but I do teach Sunday School and run sword drills in AWANA with iPhone in hand. The only thing I'm waiting for now is support for Greek and Hebrew fonts so I can use my original language versions on the iPhone.
Personal Promise Bible By: GillKeith - Aug 21, 2009 Version: 4.08 I have used several of the iPhone Bible programs and this is clearly the best. Navigation is the big plus, far better than any other program.
Just what I was looking for! By: Blue Delicious - Aug 21, 2009 Version: 4.08 Here's what sold me on Olive Tree's BibleReader for the iPhone: 1. Main program and included bible is free. 2. Loads of other great Bibles and classic books downloadable for free! 3. HERE'S THE CLINCHER! ... The ability to purchase the entire John MacArthur NT Commentary set and have it on your iPhone! SWEET!! 4. Many other great Bibles and resources available for purchase to add to the BibleReader app! Made MY day!
BibleReader--Very Good By: Hector Mojica - Aug 19, 2009 Version: 4.08 I use BibleReader about 10 times a day. It is a pleasure to have the Scriptures and other biblically based literature on my iPhone. It is easy to use. A nice feature is the syncing between the bible verses and any commentary or other bible helps. It saves a lot of page flipping.I wish BibleReader would have a full screen mode. The iPhone has a small screen, so any little bit of text reading space would greatly help.
Wonderful BibleReader By: Camille Smith - Aug 18, 2009 Version: 4.08 This is wonderful program. Easy to use, movement through reader is very fluid, and searching scriptures are a breeze. Have access to so many other great books, such as, the Latin Vulgate, The Pilgrim's Progress, etc. This is my favorite biblereader. It is not the only one I have; but, definitely the one I use the most.
Excellent Reader and study tool By: Mark R. Lindsey - Aug 14, 2009 Version: 4.08 I've been using Olive Tree's reader since my Palm V, through several Treos, and now on my iPhone and iPod. It's a great tool, and they've been very generous to allow use of purchases I made long ago to still apply. I'd love to see J Vernon McGee commentaries available, and the works of Beth Moore. I'd also love to be able to sync my notes to a web site, and see other reaser's notes on passages.
AWESOME By: TENshekelBrutha - Aug 13, 2009 Version: 4.08 I totally love this app. Thanks so much for putting Calvins Institutes on there :)
Good app with buggy add-on modules By: jelmac99 - Aug 11, 2009 Version: 4.08 I enjoyed this app until I bought add-on commentaries (Grays and JFB). Neither work correctly. JFB just shows gibberish on the screen. Reloaded software and did restarts with no impact. Contacted Support who offered no remedy (They said, "I think I may have seen something similar to this in our Forums, but I will forward it to our developers for investigation!")
Where is the NKJV??? By: feelinhorsey - Aug 10, 2009 Version: 4.08 This is a really good app.and much faster than all the others that I have tried. The only problem is it does not have the NKJV. They offer something called MKJV...but for those of us we are use to the NKJ it is a sorely missed version!
Best Bible on iphone By: Ronnyh1967 - Aug 8, 2009 Version: 4.08 i have tried all the free bible in itune and was amazed when i download this one 2 days ago. WOW! it's fast and stable. only one thing that could be add, to highlight or underline passages.
Longtime user By: Lehooks - Aug 7, 2009 Version: 4.08 As a longtime user on the Palm, I think the iPhone version is superior and an an excellent tool for studying His Word
Dr. By: Joel Nishida - Aug 6, 2009 Version: 4.06 I love this app. It has to be the one app I use most. Most of all, it was free! I love this app, and I recommend it to all.
Excellent app with some technical challenges By: AStrand - Aug 4, 2009 Version: 4.08 LIKESThe app has several nice features:1) Split screen that allows you to show two resources at a time and scroll independently i.e. KJV and Young's Literal Translation.2) Olive Tree has a strong vision to tie new resources into the same viewer. This is an excellent idea.3) Clicking from one Bible to another maintains the same verse you are on.4) Finding a verse is extremely easy -- click a book; click a chapter; click a verse. It can't get much easier than that.5) Application is nicely priced based on the copyrighted content you receive.MINOR DISLIKES1) Changing reading size is done from an options panel instead of pinch/squeeze2) It would be nice to have the search panel closer to the main page instead of having to open the Catalog first (See technical below).3) I haven't found a Greek Lexicon with a link to an English translation but it may be there.TECHNICAL GOTCHAS1) Downloading new content that you thought was part of the software requires direct internet connection instead of being available via iTunes.2) BibleReader doesn't handle errors on the Internet well if at all. Selecting screens on the Olive Tree site may hang BibleReader possibly requiring application exit. There isn't a cancel button that takes you back to the previous screen. The result -- you need to click-through to the same page and try again. Sometimes I have seen XML errors or timeout messages that allow for recovery but not until you have waited for several minutes.3) BibleReader can simply crash and return to the main menu.Fortunately once you have your content you won't be interacting with the Olive Tree website.
Good App By: rkg4christ - Aug 3, 2009 Version: 4.07 I have used this on the Palm OS and Windows Mobile. It is still one of the best Bible readers available.
I love it. By: Sheffney - Aug 3, 2009 Version: 4.08 Easy to use. Straight to da book.
The only Bible software that have the Deuterocanonical Books (Douay Rheims Bible) By: Fr. Ignatius - Jul 30, 2009 Version: 4.08 Thank you. The Bible Reader is my avenue to reading the Whole Canon of Scripture. Thank you.The Douay Rheims is not my favourite translation, but at least I can read the whole Bible. I wish there was a good English translation of the Septuagint, but unfortunately in this country, it isn't going to happen that soon. You would think that after the Dead Sea Scrolls were found and they corroborated with the LXX more than with the Masoretic (especially since the Masoretic text was started in 100 AD), that more Protestants and Roman Catholics would want the more accurate text for their Bibles. Hopefully time will show this more and more.PS - I really like the new Note function and how it looks on the screen (it has class).
