A great app. Does require the irtrans hardware module that isn't cheap, but overall the package is still better value than the harmony multi remote equivalent. Great to have a real picture of the remote on the iPod. Not aimed at the complete av beginner, but if you have some basic av and network knowledge then it is very good.

iRedtouch funktioniert zusammen mit Irtrans super. Bin total begeistert. Ich habe mir eigene Layouts für mit den wichtigsten Funktionen meiner Fernbedienungen erstellt und diese ins Iphone importiert. Die IR Programmierung geht wirklich schnell. Ich kann meine Anlage / TV jetzt aus dem ganzen Haus steuern. Weiter so.

The best thing about this is that you can create you're own remote and have the buttons you do use and get rid of the ones you don't want. You can have all the buttons for all your devices all on one page!Awesome!

Bitte beachten, dass (mindestens) ein IRTrans Modul fuer den Betrieb mit diesem Programm notwendig ist! Ich habe es im Betrieb mit einem IRTrans Ethernet-Modul und finde es GENIAL!!! Es ermoeglicht ohne Verwendung eines pc/Mac eine Steuerung aller Heimkinokomponenten ueber Infrarot, der Touch steuert somit nicht nur meinen Mac Mini, sondern auch den ganzen HiFi-Geraete-Fuhrpark. Eine Fernbedienung fuer alles!! Das Anlernen der Infrarotbefehle ist denkbar einfach und funktioniert zuverlaessig. Man kann die Optik seiner Fernbedienungsoberflaeche frei gestalten, z.B. die alten Fernbedienungen abfotographieren und bequem auf die einzelnen Tasten die Touch-Befehle legen oder auch andere Fotos oder Oberflaechen verwenden. Einfach genial. Der support ueber den Entwickler Robert Fischer ist auch erstklassig, auf meinen Wunsch wird in der Zukunft auch Funk (mit EZControl) unterstuetzt. Dann wird ein Traum wahr. Mit diesem Programm und der Hardware von IRTrans werden Ipod Touch/IPhone zur Fernbedienung nach Wunsch. Die ganze Investition ist nicht guenstig, aber ihren Preis wirklich WERT!!

The best APP if you are into creating the best all in one remote. It's worth buying an extra iPod touch to dedicate as a fully charged remote in your theatre. Hopefully screen jumps will come out for those that use this software to it's full capabilities. I like controlling my theatre with this native app. It's much better than using a www interface to my home control.

this is a scam, it does not work at all and if you read carefully u'll see that u need a IRTrans Ethernet Device which cost arround 145 euros to work this app,!!!!!! do itunes hand out refunds cause i want one!

Super Programm!Ich habe meine Fernbedienungen einfach eingescannt, auf das iPhone übertragen und mit Hilfe des Wizards angelernt.Und jetzt: Nie wieder Fernbedienungen suchen!P.S. Die Unterstützung von Funkfernsteuerungen wäre super! Bitte weiterentwickeln!

This is exacly what I was looking for in a wireless remote app. Very easy to use once you have the remotes setup. The setup could be easier, but it is not that bad. Would be nice to download remotes (possibly in the future). E-mail to support was quicky responded to. Does require hardware that seems like it could be cheaper. Maybe when more of you start buying the price will go down. Can't wait for updates.

Cost (money I wasted)1 irtrans poe device - $278This app- $30Total: $308Results 1) Did not work with any cable box I tried after many (many) tries to learn channel up/down and numbers (exhaustively iterated through all configuration options available in app trying to get this to work) 2) Tv control (no cable box) did work(volume up/down and other keys) 4) Did not work with any other ir devices (fireplace remote, toy cars etc) 5) App startup time+selecting remote time+random app crashes kill the convenience/appeal of this 6) Irtrans website and forum are useless

Researching competitors in this area, we have RedEye for $120 ($150 in sept/oct), a crestron or other custom build for massive cash, a dedicated universal remote for 100-200, and this. I went ahead and bought this app along with the IRTrans package which i think was about $160. Total cost just under $200, so in the higher end of the spectrum. Now what you get for your cash is a fully customizable layout in a package that will work anywhere within wifi range of your theater. A huge difference for me is this custom layout. You can use any picture (and design your own if you want to with photoshop or even graph paper) to layout exactly the buttons you want, and remove all the buttons you hate. This is head and shoulders above almost all solutions out there since they are stuck with a hardware system. The closest dedicated remote is a newly launched Philips that uses a touch screen for multi-function buttons and to get rid of the keypad. It retails for $200, is still large and bulky, and completely unnecessary thanks to this iRedTouch/IRTrans combination in a package (iPod Touch) that will blow away any remote out there.If it sounds like I work for the company, it's only because right now, nothing else comes close. There are still areas that can be worked on, for instance, swiping sideways to move between remotes, connecting to the IRTrans module in the background (after app launch) so you can access your remotes faster, enabling the wake on lan command built into the IRTrans module so you can wake sleeping macs on your network... but that would just be icing on the cake.

Eine geniale Software zu Infrarot-Steuerung

Im Zusammenspiel mit der Hardware von IRTrans ist iRedTouch eine großartige Möglichkeit alle bisherigen Infrarot-Fernbedienungen in einem einzigen iPhone/iPod Touch zu vereinigen.Dabei ist die Erstellung von Fernbedienungs-Skins kinderleicht zu bewerkstelligen.Ohne große Mühe kommt man so zu einer Universalfernbedienung mit professionellem Aussehen und Funktionsumfang.Diese Applikation ist jeden Cent ihres Preises wert.Ich möchte hier mal klarstellen, dass ich mit dem Autor des Programms überhaupt nichts zu tun habe, bis auf die Tatsache, dass ich iRedTouch gekauft habe!Dies nur, weil weiter unten so seltsame Vermutungen angestellt werden.Die dummen Anschuldigungen kommen wohl daher, dass die Schreiber gar nicht wissen, wofür das Programm gut ist und es offenbar auch nicht benutzt haben.Ich persönlich warte schon länger auf die Anbindung meines iPod Touch an die Geräte von IRTrans, die ich seit Jahren in meinem Haus verwende.Man sollte den Mund wirklich nicht so weit aufreissen, wenn man nicht mal versteht, wofür eine Sache gut ist.Und dass für ein gutes Programm auch Geld verlangt wird, halte ich für angemessen.Ich denke niemand kann von verschenkter Software leben und auch die Schreiberlinge werden wohl Geld für ihre Arbeit verlangen.
