Skyscape has always been the number one resource for medical info on the PDA, and it is no different on the iPhone. I agree that the information should be offered on a subscription basis. Anyone working in the medical field will know that information is being updated so quickly that books tend to become out of date within a short space of time. This way we can be confident that the info we carry on our iPhones is current and relevant. And, of course, you can claim tax relief on these subscriptions as well. One of my home page apps!

About time skyscape brought it's titles to iPhone after many of us had become so reliant on our palm versions! Glad to not have to use the net to read Dahnert on this true iPhone version. Many, many specialties core texts are now downloadable in super slick format. Fast and reliable. Very happy customer - another win for iPhone!

Warning: if you sign up for this, Skyscape spams you unmercifully with tons of Skyscape spamvertising. Apps are not that great, most certainly not worth losing an e-mail address to their painfully frequent and totally useless PIA e-mails.

Beware when downlaoding this app. I was charged for a 1 year subscription when it shoud have been free. I purchased the hard back dictionary and there was a serial promotional number offering the dictionary app free on my mobile. I am now fighting to get my money back. I think the app itself is very useful but I doubt I will ever use skyscape for anything ever again and certainly not recommend this app to anyone.

Jetzt hat es Skyscape geschafft ihre Programme über die MySkyscape Schnittstelle freizuschalten uns alles läuft bestens. Für jeden Mediziner ein unverzichtbares Tool mit fast unbegrenztem Zugang zu dem (zugegeben nicht ganz billigen) jeweiligen "Kitteltaschenbuch" für jede erdenkliche Fachdisziplin. Alles nur auf Englisch aber meilenweit hinter dem entfernt was Thieme, Springer und Co. an Online Content bieten (von iphone Apps mal ganz zu schweigen!).Fazit:Für jeden Medicus mit iphone ein Muß !!!

I describe myself as an early technology adopter. I have used skyscape back on my Treo and have had it on my iPhone for over a year. The programs work well, although, some images and tables do not work on the Iphone and it's not always easy to find what you want to answer a clinical question given there is no real global search feature. When it comes down to it, it's just not worth the cost to have to keep renewing every year or so. I agree, medical information changes, however, the concept of electronic pocket book guides needs to evolve. If I purchase the 2008 pocket book guide to something I should have access to it for as long as I would to the equivalent hard copy. If I don't choose to update to the latest 2009 information my book shouldn't disappear. Cumulatively it's just not worth the cost. I can just google what I need.

Comparandola con otras apps esta unifica el concepto descriptivo de medicamentos, formulario médico (muy amplio), información médica en forma de artículos y por padecimientos muy interconectada con las otras funciones. En conclusión es una muy buena app para el grupo médico estudiantil, sin embargo no todo es gratis... Sigue habiendo ganchos para inducir compra de suplementos...

Have been waiting for a long time and was excited.but it didn't really meet expectations.one of the main points of clinical info on the iPhone is to get to it quicky.this is not very quick u have to load skyscape and find wat ur looking for then load that and find wat ur doing.also text books ect are all way to expensive $50 plus US and u only get a year subscription.not very good.also no trial versions to test things out.had great potential but is a bit if a flop.

I think it's unfair that people are complaining about yearly subscriptions, because most software that you would use (take the BNF) for example gets updated every 6 months, therefore a subscription is hardly a problem there. For other software that is not updated as regularly, it seems a little expensive. However the 3 programmes that you get for free (Archemides was not available for me) are excellent. Usefull on ward rounds and in clinics. OCM is particularly good, as it's evidence based and whilst not as thorough as other resources, it is usefull for an overview of a disease or presentation. I don't usually write reviews, however i felt this programme has got an unfair rating. Not only is the program quick to load, and easy to use. But it also comes with 3 very useful resources for free. You don't have to buy any further software for it if you don't want to. I have found it very useful as a medical student.

I was going to buy a $100.00 application from Skyscape but after making three attempts to have a technical question addressed have had no contact from Skyscape. If you think you'll be able to keep the program after the years up check the program size and if you find, as I did, that a full 540 illustration is fully contained in 216Kb, think again -you need an Internet/WiFi connection to their server to run the application. After the years up are they still going to let you access that server to get the images? Look for applications that run independently on your device -I'm an ER Doc and my hospital has no Internet connectivity as far as hand held devices goes! USE CAUTION WITH THEM!!! One.star out of generosity.
