About Time!!! By: Kensei Dave - 27-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0.8 I have been waiting for Skyscape to get their apps onto the iPhone for ages. FINALLY! Skyscape please ensure that both standard and subscription versions are available for iphone, please do not lock everyone into a yearly subscription model.
Excelente By: alangouvea - 05-Nov-2008 Version: 1.0.8 Excelente. Aplicativo ja tradicional no Palm OS. Interface muito bem adaptada ao iPhone.
Change my mind By: aladdin112 - 30-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0.8 I am changing my review. charging Iphone customers for a 1 year access fee is BS. it was so promising, sorry to see skyscape get so greedy, I was about to buy a bunch of their programs, but now I will just use isilo and download free pdb books. I suggest that everyone does the same until skyscape changes their mind about trying to stick it to iphoners
WTF? By: matty_ham - 13-Nov-2008 Version: 1.0.8 Brilliant application... would be very useful indeed BUT 1 year subscription then have to buy the same book again! WTF!?
Must have medical app for iPhone!! By: Ng Inn Shan - Nov 1, 2009 Version: 1.4.3 This is a good program! And it's free! It's constantly updated.
Awesome By: pwanda - 25-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0.8 Finally, the iPhone is beginning to realise its potentials of becoming a holistic clinical medical tool - both educationally and professionally.
ONLY allows 1 yr access By: OMFS - 23-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0.8 Please be aware that unlike other platforms, iPhone users are being given a particularly bad dead in that we have to buy a yearly subscription to this program for nearly the same price that other PDA users pay for lifetime access to the program. After 1 year this program will NOT BE AVAILABLE on your phone!I understand that it is important to update information, however we deserve the right to choose WHEN to update. I have used several Skyscape programs for years, but I won't be adding it to my iPhone until they start to treat us the same as the other PDA users.
1 year subscriptions.....!!! By: iNag - 08-Nov-2008 Version: 1.0.8 R u kidding..?? Only 1 star rating 2 compensate 4 my previous rating...!!

Shaft By: Great Indian - 01-Nov-2008 Version: 1.0.8 Correction to my previous review.just realized that it's only for 1 year and has to pay again next year not acceptable. Please make it clear on ur site. I won't recommend
It would be nice if it worked... By: Np kt - Oct 19, 2009 Version: 1.4.3 I have had problems with this app since downloading it 7 months ago and buying a few hundred dollars in software programs. The app goes through periods where it won't open at all and leaves you completely unable to use all the tools you paid so much for. Installation is a huge, many step process if you are buying other programs through skyscape too. All in all, I wouldn't spend the money again. Epocrates is up to date, reliable, and has great free versions. Think twice before buying this!!
EXCELLENT By: Old School Palm User - 22-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0.8 Have been waiting for this since iPhone was released. Slick, easy to use... a must download for all doctors.
Great product for Canadian & American medical professionals By: Studentdoctor - 18-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0.8 I thank Skype for creating such a wonderful product for Health care professionals.
Ludicrously By: anscs - 29-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0.8 Application is o.k., but you pay for a 1-year-subscription!! (in contrast to BlackBerry, Palm OS, Symbian and Windows Mobile users, they buy the same stuff for permanent use) Some of the items are quite out-of-date (3 to 7 years old).
Not worth the cost. By: Stormovik - Oct 16, 2009 Version: 1.4.3 As a med student, there are some apps I'm willing to pay for, but this is not one of them. Rarely will this app give me the answers I'm looking for, especially compared with epocrates.
paediatric doses By: Dudlimor - 22-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0.8 RxDrugs is OK but does not provide some important paediatric drug doses. This reduces its functionality. The interface is clear and download was smooth.
Excellent Integration of Medical Data By: ER Physician - 18-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0.8 I have been a fan of many of Skyscape's medical software databases for almost 8 years, using them since the turn of this Century initially on Widescreen Hewlett-Packard PDAs and then subsequently PocketPCs (PPC). I have found the Blackberry (BB) versions cumbersome to use. Since moving to the Intel Mac, I have secretly hoped that Medical developers would adopt the Mac/iPhone/iTouch platform, not just the Palm/PPC/BB platform. Skyscape's pre-eminent feature is it's SmartLink capability that integrates all their databases of books, akin to hyper-links in Wikipedia. At present, I have access to all these books in their current editions and many others as a paid benefit of my Provincial Medical Association dues online behind a secure Internet connection. Despite this, it is always useful to have a portable device-resident database at Point of Care independent of a live Internet connection. Two thumbs up for this Developer with a well-established track record - they WILL revolutionize the ubiquity of the iPhone/iTouch utilization in Medical care. The Software is already very polished - I hope the developers will allow a selection of customizable newsfeeds by medical discipline.
Looking forward to improvements By: Kritz_O - 24-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0.8 I have my reservations about this app, despite the useful free texts and the undeniable advantages of having medical info readily to hand. (Using 3G iPhone with up-to-date firmware, & Mac OSX 4.10.11)Navigating to Skyscape's website (I already have an a/c there for a Palm handheld), I browsed through the texts available. Very few indeed (of the dozen or so that I examined) listed the iPhone among their compatible platforms, and none listed Mac OSX. Entering "iphone" in their site's search box yielded 75 hits. Yet at least some (unsure whether a few or most) of these had no iPhone version! For those that *did* have an iPhone version, it was not the "Standard" edition (as for the other mobile/OS platforms), but only a (1-year) "Subscription" edition. It wasn't clear, but I guess such texts become unusable after a year (whereas the free ones supplied with the AppStore download expire in 2018, it seems) and no doubt further payment is then required. If so, this seems discriminatory toward the iPhone platform and its users. However, the iPhone editions *are* cheaper than the standard editions. But not by much. While I was ordering the two texts of interest, I was - as an incentive - offered two free texts. But... neither was available for the iPhone platform (though this became apparent only *after* paying). The iPhone texts: you click on a download link on the Skyscape 'order receipt' page, and are taken to a page which asks you "what type of device do you have?", offering "Palm OS" and "iPhone/iPod Touch." Why??? It 'knows' I've just ordered the iPhone version! Choosing the latter option merely opens iTunes and takes you to this (Skyscape) page in the App Store. Rather pointless, really. You download the texts from (and to) the iPhone: wasn't clear how large the files were going to be, either. If I click on the *Palm* version on the aforementioned webpage, I can indeed download that version too: but when I install it on my Palm, will Skyscape *really* let me use this 2nd copy for free? I rather doubt it, somehow. The free (non-iPhone!) texts: clicking on the download link offered me a download for the *Palm* platform only - perhaps as the website knew I'd previously registered a Palm text (which was a real pain in the neck to install due to its ferocious DRM system - stopped me ever buying any more of Skyscape's Palm products). The zip file I downloaded just now contains 32 files for installation onto the Palm, with no installation instructions, and not even a text file warning the user what joys of DRM-related activation may - or may not - then be required.Opening my new texts on the iPhone: they look very nice, but (i) oddly they open at the Index, rather than at the Table of Contents, and (ii) images can't be resized with the finger-pinch technique (nor in any other way, I suspect).Skyscape's e-mail notifying users of the iPhone support mentioned how they'd been developing for Apple since the Newton. But are any of their products usable on the Mac OS 9/X desktop? (Presumably so - not that I found any - as you're asked whether you use such a desktop OS when you're 'downloading' your orders.)Overall, not too impressed and think Skyscape has room for improvement. Please correct me if any of the above is wrong - perhaps I missed the "small print" on some of the webpages, which were somewhat tricky to navigate with Firefox v2. I did try, though, to read all of that (award-winning for its length?) License Agreement that the app pops up on installation. - (Posted 24 Oct 08)
