Being an ardent follower of SkyScape apps...I have been eagerly awaiting their iPhone programs and this one doesn't let you down. But I am still waiting for the more popular apps from Skyscape like 5 min Clinical Consult and RxDrugs, etc, hope they will bring that out sooner!

Why subscription for iPhone users

The app and free resources are OK. But I don't see why I should have to pay an annual subscription for books/resources on the iPhone platform. I don't on my other handhelds. Total rip-off and unfair to iPhone users. Avoid

This app shines when coupled with the PAID version of many of the texts and references available on some of the screenshots. By itself, it is a good but not great complilation of tools and references. For most folks this will make a good one two punch coupled with either the free ePocrates or paid ePocrates. I've got free ePocrates and the full Skyscape (for Family Med) and I LOVE IT! My only concern is that I may still buy the ePocrates as I miss the OTC meds and some of the stuff in the paid version.

Very nice database for on the go, since it is a native application and ni internet is required. I haven't checked out their paid products, yet, but there seems to be a problem with licensing (read other reviews).

Awesome, just what I've been waiting for. Easy to navigate. Fast. The free stuff is fairly comprehensive. Just waiting now to see which other titles will become available.

Skyscape's resources are fantastic and the free application is great. HOWEVER, all iPhone compatible titles are "subscription"-based. In other words: you spend £50 on a book, can use it for 12 months and then can pay the same amount again! No thanks... Also, their website says that all web-based access of iPhone products "will no longer be abailable after 31 December 2008". What's the frakking point then?

CDC Spotlights

I downloaded this onto my iPod touch and I tried to get the upgrades and it seemed to freeze. So I cancelled and figured that I would upgrade later. This caused my CDC spotlights to cx. I have been unsuccessful in getting this back. Everything else is great!

Excellent for healthcare professionals - Skyscape is a very well respected brand. However, almost all the Skyscape titles currently seem to require a live connection to the Internet rather than being run directly from the iPhone, which limits its usefulness in a lot of point-of-care situations. Hopefully more titles will be native to the iPhone in the future.

I have had Skyscape for 6 years but no more. They Would only move 1 program from my Treo to the iPhone. Wanted me to pay AGAIN for 4 others that I had already paid for. I'll look for another vendor. Interesting that a bunch of favorable ratings immediately appear after an unfavorable evaluation...
