I have an older dog around 12 y/o...she couldn't hear it and she has good hearing. But my 7 y/o dog and 9 month old pup could hear it very very well. It works good to get their attention :)

Didn't do much for my dog, but it's great for getting rid of pesky teenagers! Set it at a high frequency (just above my hearing range) and wash those teenagers right out of your hair! Teens hanging around the house - Not any more. Noisy teens talking at a movie theatre - They couldn't leave fast enough. I bought a second iPhone just so I could leave one on at the house all the time. My 25 year old moocher son finally moved out.

This app is great! I live in a loft condo and for the past 2 and a half years I have had to put up with my neighbor that lives below me dog barking constantly from 7am to 8 pm while they were at work. They got one of those zapping dog collars but he has figured out that if he howls and whines he will not get zapped by it. When he starts his howling I just open the app and connect my iphone to my Harmon/Kardon speakers and crank the volume to the max. It shuts him up all day and I get to sleep in. LOVE IT!!
