Great for vocabulary development By: UnPrincipiante - Feb 3, 2011 Version: 1.9 The best app I've found for learning spanish vocabulary. Easy to set options for controlling which words you learn, how fast you learn new words, which direction (spanish to english or vice versa) and skipping words you know. Way more vocabulary than most educational apps. Having the option to have words presented orally in spanish without the written word is great for learning to understand spoken spanish. The hangman game is a good learning tool as well.Am having trouble getting the app to let me decide how many words to review. I set it at 250 words, but if I come back in the minimum 15 hours, it sets the max at way, way less than than that (as little as 30 even) which is frustrating and slows progress.Would be nice to keep the 'new' words available for review along with the 'missed' words. One quick pass through is not enough to remember new words.Wish that the verbs included a short note (e.g. o-->ue) for stem changing verbs ... or at least a flag indicating they're irregular in the present tense.
Excellent! By: j7david - 18-Apr-2010 Version: 1.9 Works really well, loads of vocabulary included and spaced repitition like SuperMemo so you don't forget what you've memorized. Quick and responsive (on a 3GS).
The best vocabulary help By: Appatites - 01-May-2010 Version: 1.9 I downloaded this app a few weeks ago and have not regretted it. It's been a fantastic way to develop vocabulary. Nothing else I've seen comes close.
** NEW IDEA: Allow user to ENTER A HINT beside a word to learn By: Bruno (Laprairie) - 23-Jul-2010 Version: 1.9 I'm professional software developer and I was using a spaced repetition application I've developed myself for 2 years now (for Spanish). My own experimentation leads me to add, in my application, the possibility to enter a comment (typically a very personalized hint)beside a word to help recall some words (mental association process is a known good technique for achieving good memory performance). So, in the process of trying to recall a word, if at first one can’t recall the word, it click to display the personalized hint. Of course succeeding to recall a word with or without hint should be modulate accordingly when grading it (e.g., using hint = C- “Barely remembered”)This can be an interesting, low cost feature to add to MemorizeWords app. :-)I’m now beginning to use it intensively and I’ll most likely come out with other comments in the futureThanksBruno
Good but too expensive By: chantal et marco - 17-Aug-2009 Version: 1.5 For this insanenely high price you get a cool app that helps in studying. Voices are good.
Annoying... By: Empuk - 12 juin 2009 Version: 1.1 You can't even listen to your music while you're revising your vocabulary. And I'd also like more clarity in how the spaced reptition works. I've wasted a small fortune in vocabulary programs, there's not a single one that really is good at what it's supposed to do. I'm not passing final judgment on this software, but I have the impression the spaced repetion is far from what scientific principals about spaced repetition would suggest helps best. Normally, spaced repetition is supposed to repeat words until you mark them as learned, then repeat them in intervals that are further apart (lets say, first repetition after a day, if you still mark the word as learned, the next repetition is after a week, if you still mark it as learned after a month and so on, but if you ever marked a word as not learned it starts basically over with the day/week/month... anyway, that's about it in a nutshell, though I'm not saying this is it precisely). This is supposed to help you concentrate on the words you don't know instead of always revising the whole lot, if you know the words already or not, which is not only a waste of time, but also very frustrating and demotivating. So I'm not saying this software doesn't do it, but it sure doesn't tell me what it's doing and up to now, there's nothing that leads me to believe it follows any of these principles. So please dear programmer, tell me what algorithme you've chose for your spaced repetition. And to all the other programmers, if you write a vocabulary software that has a really good space repetition algorithme, I'm willing to pay a lot of money for it!

It works! By: MarkyMarkG - 12-Mar-2010 Version: 1.9 I've been attempting to learn Spanish but needed a quick way to build my vocbulary. The recall that is acheiveable using this app is much better than any other method I've used. The games are a nice touch too.
excellent By: d-spanish - 19-Mar-2010 Version: 1.7 ok I'm amending my review since you've now fixed the glitchesthis app is really, really good. clearly, a lot of thought has been put into the translations. the overall set-up is greatthe app is obviously geared towards someone who's very serious about learning the language. therefore, i would love it if even more words were added. I think 10,000 words would be idealALSO CAN YOU PLEASE RELEASE A FRENCH VERSION (can you update about this on your website?)
This will help beginner and intermediate spanish students. By: -BC- - 13-Mar-2010 Version: 1.9 The flashcards and immediate quiz help you quickly learn the words and the games help you remember. The games are also great time wasters if you have a few minutes to kill. I think it could be improved by allowing users to repeat the multiple choice quizzes at any time. I really like that I'm forced to limit my intake to a set amount of words per day. There is a method behind this app, and it works pretty well. Use it ever day and you will improve.

Very good app By: Ryn D - 18-Feb-2010 Version: 1.7 I am awaiting an update, in line with the Lite version. Full version is worth paying for. A company well worth supporting. Very responsive, friendly & helpful. Very happy customer. Excellent product indeed. Thank u
I love the interface! By: Entrée - 11-Feb-2010 Version: 1.7 I believe this is a fantastic app. I've tried out a number of Spanish-learning apps, but none of them are truly able to help you to remember the vocabulary (which, unknown to me, was my big problem). This app, though providing no knowledge of how words connect (not a bad thing, as it says this in the description!) really helps to memorize the words. I can now create Spanish sentences from the top of my head without thinking for what feels like ages before remembering words.Great job!The interface, too, makes it that much more interesting to keep going. (It's not dull or boring, thank goodness!)Keep up the great work.
This app knows when you're not doing your homework By: SecretsHQ - 05-May-2009 Version: 1.1 This is a well thought out application that is so much more than a simple language learning tool. The algorithm they use knows when you last used the app and gently encourages more frequent use while also making you review words covered previously so you can catch up. With regular use I believe this app will be a very effective way to build up a Spanish vocabulary. The icon and general design aesthetics could be improved but I consider this app great value.

Want to improve your vocabulary? By: Mr-Merlin - 21-Jan-2010 Version: 1.7 After finishing the lite version of this app and learning all 314 words in such a short time, I just had to get the full version. This app lives up to its claims of helping you to increase your vocabulary quickly and effortlessly with just a few minutes each day.Highly recommended. ¡Lo compre ahora!
Excellent App By: jimjiminyjim - 10-Dec-2009 Version: 1.7 Love this little app. For vocabulary training, this program is easy to use, has a wonderful and large selection of words - and unlike many apps I've seen, they're accurately translated. There's a light version you can try, though the icon is different with a big m on a notecard.

No crashes here! By: Beridan Air - 05-Nov-2009 Version: 1.6 I had bought Spanish! but the word list was small AND ridiculous AND had incorrect translations. I deleted it in disgust and took a gamble on this, Memorize words for Spanish. The app is very stable, the word list is excellent, useful and quite extensive at over 6000 words all with Spanish pronunciation and more importantly the translations are correct.I'd like the interval to be configurable and the ability to add my own words but despite that this is still the best Spanish vocabulary learning tool I've used. I haven't had a single crash as reported by the other user, if there was a problem in a previous version it's been fixed now.Recommended.
Pretty Good By: Theville - 20-Oct-2009 Version: 1.6 Seems to be an alright app. The largest flaw is the inability to cusomize the flash cards so you can remove words you already know.
