Warning By: CathSim - 23-Jul-2009 Version: 1.0 ONLY US CITIZENS CAN PURCHASE EBOOKS FOR THIS SOFTWARE AT THIS TIME. ITUNES SHOULD REALLY REMOVE THIS FROM ALL NON US SITES
V1.1 app crashes By: Not happy reader - Jan 13, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 This application crashes constantly to the home screen after each opening of the book. It requires deleting the bookand ereader and redownloading it, re entering my cc each time I want to read. This is unacceptable when i spent 20+ dollors on books, that i cant even read. I am emailing apple they should pull the app. Till works on all versions of Iphone both 3g and 3gs phonesEdit: corrected stars
Still plenty of bugs By: ShadowBaby - 7-Dec-2009 Version: 1.1 Yes, it's frustrating not being able to buy from Canada. Or to have a free sample freeze your iPod again and again. Too bad.
The practical side leaves a lot to be desired. By: JezCaudle - 21-Jul-2009 Version: 1.0 One of the free eBooks you get with the app is Bram Stocker's "Dracula". The problem with this eBook is that the first pages are links. As you try and swipe to the first page of the story you will, unless you have very small and agile fingers, hit a link instead of swiping, and be on page 394 seeing a letter from Van Hesling. A quick tap of the page, scroll page to page one and try again. It took me 4 goes to get past a very packed link page. Another example of the lack of thought in this app is that you need to know how to use the app before you can read the "Getting Started" guide. As useful as a chocolate tea pot. They could market this as a game instead of an eBook reader.
Crashes While Loading By: senorita_cherie - Jan 13, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 This app worked OK initially. I downloaded a couple books and then had problems opening the app. I deleted the app and re-installed. Again, worked briefly then same results. Very disappointing. Also found many selections of the same book "The Taming of the Shrew" and an extended description differentiating them all would've been nice, too.
Not just for US By: Jonorr1 - 5-Dec-2009 Version: 1.0 I originally thought this was US only, but just put in any US address, it doesn't have to be associated with your credit card. Works great after that .
Great app but expensive books By: Dubz07 - 20-Jul-2009 Version: 1.0 The app works really well, I was surprised at how quickly I got into a book on it, I soon forgot the format and got involved in the story.
The auto scroll feature is also good but I prefer the slide to turn option.
However I was surprised and put off by the price of the ebooks. Approx $20 for a download of an old paperback seems steep to me, when you could buy the print version for considerably less.
I have rated the app 4 stars which is possibly generous given the price of the downloads.
The Best By: KiaraSW - Jan 13, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 I love this its the best thing to have if you are a serious reader and u dn't have to worry about carrying a book around!! Mine works really well!!
I don't get it? By: maluba - 21-Nov-2009 Version: 1.0 Useless and doesn't work?
Awesome By: Jmorg87 - Jan 13, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 Great app no problems at all
vintage jesus By: homiegq - 8-Nov-2009 Version: 1.0 was about to make a purchase but read it is not available in Canada ,thanks for wasting my time B&N. It would be helpful to know why.
Terrible software By: gordvan - Jan 12, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 I downloaded this new app because their pc version wasent working. Now I can't even open my book here.Wow if B&N have such idiots producing their software there is no way I'm getting a nook now! I'm getting a kindle instead.
NOT US ONLY By: MusicServer - 27-Sep-2009 Version: 1.0 JUST INPUT A US ADDRESS!!! Reading app reviews I despair for human intellegence. Love the highlighting, annotating feature My wife and I needed to read a book at the same time. She had the paper version so I bought the ebook, at less than half the price, AND had ability to search, make notes, highlight, etc. NB because of licensing agreements it APPEARS that some (many?) books are available in the US only, which is why in some cases it will ask for a US billing address. There is still a simple way to buy the book.Love the Meriam Webster dictionary integration. Just select a word and you can get the definition. Not sure if the dictionary was there from the beginning or only after I bought a book. In general this is similar to Stanza and other ereader apps: love the ability to search, bookmark, highlight and make notes. Would be nice if you could unhighlight something you had previously highlighted.
Drove me crazy By: GilbertFace - Jan 12, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 Like virtually everyone else here, I found this app to be among the worst i've ever downloaded. It worked well, until I bought a couple of books, then crashed every time. Eventually, after deleting and reinstalling after every purchase, it ran okay. Neither the kindle reader nor stanza have these issues. I bought a kindle yesterday, simply because this product was so horrible. WTG, B&N.

Seems to be working for me By: Cacophany - Jan 11, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 I was hesitant to try out this app, given all the problems discussed in the reviews. But I gave it a shot anyway and all seems to be working fine. I have purchased and downloaded a book, have opened and closed the book, closed the ereader, restarted it and reopened the book. I've had none of the problems that many of the other reviewers have had.I also have Stanza on my iPod Touch and while I think that Stanza is a more full-featured ereader, their books are far more expensive than B&N.

I have to what? By: LisaMK - Jan 10, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 Seriously, Stanza beats all other forms of ebooks. I have to go dig out my credit card just to read? Major unfriendly app.
Ridiculous By: Spadina - 27-Aug-2009 Version: 1.0 Don't bother. Use Ereader.
Failure on part of B&N By: Uncle Rino - Jan 10, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 This app worked well for a short period. By another book and it dies. I wish O had donated the cost of the second book to a charity. Barnes & Noble is on the verge of losing my future business for anything.
