Crashes  By: shyeri - Jan 8, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 I have an iPhone and the ereader just crashes. If bn wants us to buy the nook just say so and dump this app. Thank goodness I didn't spend money on books for this reader.

Try reinstalling the app  By: kimmer08 - Jan 8, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 I installed the e-reader back in sept or oct and had no problems until the day after Christmas. I read others reviews and someone suggested removing the app from my phone and reinstalling...it worked! You do not lose your books when you uninstall so give it a shot you might be surprised. B&N App doesn't work  By: Wretched Reader - Jan 8, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 Fun while it did, but won't launch again if you leave the app while reading. I've got a bunch of books I can't get to. Phooey.Tried the fix suggested, and it barely worked once, then went back to crashing. Very sad that B&N won't be more candid and available - customer service definitely not helpful.
Crashes  By: kimptos - Jan 8, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 Used to work well, now like so many other people it spins and spins and then crashes out. Tried the fix of deleting it and fully shutting down the iPhone and it worked, the first time, now is back to crashing. Typical b&n.
Version 1.0 : Fine. Version 1.1.1 : Crap.  By: ac72 - Jan 8, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 If you've got a first-gen iPhone, I'd advise against upgrading (or downloading this at all). I installed ver 1.0, bought two books from B&N, read the first, started to read the second...and got a message saying that this particular book required the upgraded version to read. Which, stupid, but whatever. Installed the upgrade, and now it won't launch at all. Startup screen, spin spin spin, crashes out back to my main iPhone screen. Ever so glad I spent ten bucks on a book I can't read. This doesn't give me much confidence in your Nook, B&N.
B&N Should Be Ashamed  By: MissyGT - Jan 8, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 The people at B&N should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this app to remain available and for allowing people to spend money on books they cannot read. Online customer service is either dense or pretending not to understand the problem. I waited 45 minutes to talk to a customer service rep before I gave up. B&N, why allow something like this to tarnish your otherwise fine reputation.

I read the other reviews and was afraid until i saw 2 that actually said it worked so i gave it a try and BAM!! So as to why it didn't work for the other majority here's my best guess:They didn't have an iPod TOUCH or and iPHONEIf you had either one of those it shouldn't be a problem cuz mine works just fine! I haven't put any books on it yet so i'll keep praying it doesn't crash.

I have bought a few e-books before knowing the crash problem and would love to read them!! What is odd it works great on my SO's iPhone 3GS. What's up B&N? The app e-reader works fine and so do a few other reader apps. Are you doing something? How about the e-books I have bought, give me my MONEY back? E-readers BEWARE!!!
POS  By: enema jones - Jan 6, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 This thing is horrible. Did the authors decide one day it might be fun to write an apple app and just make it up as they went along? Because IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. I have a good mind to not honor the bn charges for a couple of ebooks I bought from barnes and noble, if this is the kind of crap they dish out.UPDATE -- it works now -- it threw up all over a couple of books I loaded but I kept starting it up and now it works. I don't know if this will help the developers any or not. It seems to die a horrible death when newly installed, and if the developers have their reader beyond this point it would be difficult for them to replicate the issue. My reader has been solid for several days now and I have bought a couple more books. No crashes, and it used to just spit me out to the screen with all the app icons, gleefully. Don't know of any reason for this. I have a second generation ipod touch updated to the latest firmware.

No Customer Service; Crash king  By: BarryOToole - Jan 6, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 I bought 2 books to read with this app. Worked for a week and then, with the new update (1.1.1), fails to open. I wrote to B&N and Apple, and there has been no response from either. Save your money - don't buy this app. Kindle has not crashed on me yet; I got this app because I could share my books with 4 others. Now even I can't read myself!

Thanks for the fix!  By: michaelNYC - Jan 6, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 Thanks to the user that posted a fix to the constant crashes. If the app is always crashing, delete it and then completely shut down your iPhone. Turn the phone back on and then reinstall the app. That cured my constant crashes and I've been able to read two books ove the last few days with the app working as advertised. I like the B&N GUI much better than the Kindle app.The key is to shut off the phone after the delete... then reinstall.
Disappointed  By: DrBrad - Jan 6, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 I really would like this to work. Have had the application since its release and has worked up until now. Now it tries to load and just crashes. I want to support Barnes and Noble but they should release an update very quickly to fix problems we are having or they will lose our support.
Crashes  By: Team AB - Jan 6, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 I want to give this ap more stars, but it keeps crashing on me! I like that I can have a book anywhere I go. I also like that I can quickly get a new book when I'm finished. But, I have had to uninstall and reinstall this ap twice now because it crashes. I can't find anything regarding this problem on the BN website. So for now, only 3 stars. It's great - when it works!
Version 1.1.2  By: capt.br - Jan 5, 2010 Version: 1.1.1 Downloaded 1.1.2 as an upgrade from version 1.1.1. It keeps crashing on books that I downloaded after the upgrade. However, 1.1.2 does work with books that were downloaded before the upgrade. What a mess.I called B&N and their support contact told me that this is a known issue and is being worked on. No dates provided.
