Ehhhh By: Izzieeeeees - Aug 25, 2009 Version: 3.0.2 Ok this app would be 5 stars if you could update your buddy info and be able to block screenames from it also, you should get a notification like you do with the e-mail app like a little number in the corner showing how many new\unread IMs you have, instead of having to always be on the app to see if someone IMed you because there is no txting for the itouch so we cabt get a SMS notification, but other than that its an OK app, really there isnt much difference between the free version. But if you made thise changes listed above ut would be worth the money and def a 5 star app, no dout
Refresh button By: Thatguy1614 - Oct 29, 2009 Version: 4.0.2 I've had the aim app ever since the app store first opened and I've watched the app mature into something truely fantastic. I've never had a complaint with it since the begining (even before there was a paid version). Although now I have found one small flaw in the design of this update that has actually begun to get annoying, and that is It desperately needs a refresh button, and I'm sure I don't need to explain why. So if you could incorperate one into the next update that'd be greatly appreciated.
By: Jen1129 - Jun 26, 2009 Version: 3.0.1 I started out using beejive IM, I love how it has tons of settings, you can change the color of the app, add wallpaper. But I noticed that it does not keep you logged in, which was the one thing I wanted the most out of a messenger app. I installed AIM app, and I love it. It actually keeps you logged in. The only thing that would be kind of nice is if they were to add personalization features, changing the colors & little stuff like that.
Great, but could be better. By: Music Diversity - Aug 8, 2009 Version: 3.0.2 The AIM app is pretty amazing in how it can send IMs and even SMS txt messages from an iphone/itouch. It's almost just like AIM on my computer. The app is great, but it could be better. Since the pro versoin is EXACTLY like the free version (minus annoying ads that aren't too bad) I think the pro version could use an upgrade that sets it distinct from the free version. AKA a landscape keyboard for typing would definitely make a LOT of people happy for the $2.99 they paid for when it's the same as the free version.
The most amazing app By: Nickdagrk - Jun 26, 2009 Version: 3.0.1 I used to think that people who wrote these reviews were made up. Well guess what this one is not.
All I have to say when I fist purchased this app I thought it was a waste of money. But when they updated the app it was amazing
First you can be off the aim app and still recieve im's just like the sidekick.
Second you can now use the landscape keyboard which is amazing. Because the free aim you can not. Well all I have to say is that the app does not coast a lot and if you can afford it then go for it I would deffinetly recommend this app to anyone who likes to im a lot.
Beyond Amazing By: Britneys NUM #1 - Jun 24, 2009 Version: 3.0.1 I love that AIM finally updated! It's landscape keyboard is wonderful to work with and with the push notifications it has made it so much easier to work with, I and I am sure a lot of other people have seen bugs on the updated version but that is normal considering AIM was updated majorly! if you want to know some bugs in case here are some, while turning into landscape mode or regular potrait mode the chat letter are like pushed o the side and the keyboard takes a little long to load.
I would like to point out though when I an sending a SMS to somebody and I have a nickname for them and say they are called "bob" and when I send an SMS to them and I leave the app and then go back and look at the chat the name is displayed as their number such as like "+19999999999" (just not to give out a real number but you get it) and it is a little bothering because when I leave the app and the wonderful push notifications come up It displays the nickname of the person and like I said since it changes it says like "+199999999999" instead of saying like bob an then the message. I hope you will take my review into cobsiderattion and to keep on updating AIM for the iPhone to make it better than all of the chatting apps! Thank you so much for the update!!
Nearly perfect!! By: or1j1nal - Jun 24, 2009 Version: 3.0.1 Push notifications + landscape keyboard = awesome aim app!!
It would be nice though if we could copy and paste messages that we receive but I think that's more of a iPhone OS limitation rather than a flaw of the app. However, if the developers of aim could make that possible on their own that would be even better!
Slight glitches here and there (like the status bar on top not rotating back at times) but nothing that exiting and re-opening the app can't fix.
It would be cool if in the future there would be plugins that allow aim to set your status message to the music you are listening to on your iPod/iPhone or even picture sharing! But I guess we'll just have to wait and see for that...

Great App By: Master F. - Jun 23, 2009 Version: 3.0.1 this app!!!!!!
Amazing app updated version is deffinitely worth the money. I give it
PROS:
1)landscape keyboard
2)push notifications
3)not sure if this is the same thing as push but even when you aren't in the app and someone sends you an IM no matter what other thing you are doing a little window pops up that shows what the im said and if you want to view it Now or later. Deffinitely extremely handy.
4)no more adds! Only in full version though same goes for landscape keyboard that is also only in the full version.
CONS:
1)so far the only con is that there is no way to customize the chat windows and fonts that you send and recieve but that's nothing important other than that very satisfied with the app.
If you are having a hard time choosing between the free version and the full deffinitely buy the full it's totally worth it and had way more than the free.
P.S. the little emoji icons you can get on the iTunes store they are only 99 cents and work everywhere aim notes anything. It's called like emoticons or something along those lines make sure you don't buy the one called Emoji it only works in notes. But this one works everywhere which is . Also it doesnt cost much . And there are over likr 450 of them.
Thank aim By: Failurebydesgn - Jun 23, 2009 Version: 3.0.1 I know we've all been waiting for this for a long time. And I'm pretty sure it's the first practical app to invoke the push system. We've waited long enough!!! LoL I'm going to give 5 star. But maybe you can possibly get the new cut copy paste option involved in here somehow or a feature that let's you send images to another aim client : ) I would even pay for it. Btw keep it simple. No need for what im+ or beejive have. Just sum minor tuning. Make it just like the desktop version.

Needs improvements. By: Mr. Oofals - Mar 11, 2009 Version: 2.0.1 The app is good but I don't see the difference between the free edition and the $2.99 edition. I purchased the $2.99 edition and I'm supposed to receive a confirmation code so I can receive notifications of an IM through a text message. I still to this day (March 11th, I purchased this app the day it was released) have received this confirmation code. Also a landscape keyboard and the app would be good for me.
If you have an AIM screen name, you've got to use AIM. By: thegman1234 - Jun 23, 2009 Version: 3.0.1 AIM, though slightly under featured compared to IM+ and Beejive, really truly is the best IM client for the iPhone in my opinion. With the new induction of the landscape keyboard and push notifications I can honestly give this one 5 stars. It might be missing a couple things, but for $2.99, it's honestly more worth it than IM+ in my opinion (I've never used Beejive, but I really can't justify spending $15 on an IM client for a phone). IM+ is great, but AIM just seems to be much more stable, and like I said for the price it's definitely worth it. Don't hesitate, this is the all the IM client most people will ever need on their phone.
FINALLY!!!!!! By: Latinflame - Jun 22, 2009 Version: 3.0.1 Bout time AOL!! now I give this app a million .....stars...now it will be kewl if u added the chatroom features!
THNX!
It isn't worth 2.99 By: Isaidno. - Sep 11, 2009 Version: 4.0.1 Pros: it works. Lifestream.
Cons: Slow , still buggy , incorrect online/offline for buddys.
Overall , this app is horrible.
It needs the group chat feature , and "...is typing" effect.
@the developers , please figure out a way to speed the app up.
Do all of that ( or at least the most of them...) and I'll give you your 5 stars.
If nothing changes soon the AIM app will plummet. The new update was useless , except for lifestream.
Umm, maybe if you were a little patient... By: vbgett - Jun 18, 2009 Version: 2.0.1 Okay so AIM and apple are working closely, and soon AIM will be releasing the update (that was currently only beta and availible to paying developers) to the public. I am haoppy to report that it does include push notifications AND a landscape keyboard option. BTW the adds do get annoying, its worth the 3 bucks. K so just hold your horses, and if you cant, then switch to the g1 (: hahahaa like you would ever wanna go with google technology! So just wait on the update, it should b coming soon withing the next week. Have fun waiting.
AIM Makes The Mark By: MaxaMillionxx - Jul 6, 2009 Version: 2.0.1 AOL has by far built the most advanced and extensive IM network in the world, and it is called AIM. AIM is more than just another IM client. It is a platform. And AIM for the iPhone and iPod Touch is a wonderful implementation of AOL's vast spreading AIM network. AIM also supprots ICQ, which is a platform owned by AOL that uses the same technology as AIM, but has been around longer and has a smaller more unique audience. But moving on, the app features the ability to use a landscape keyboard, use emoticons, share your location with buddies, change picture icon and status, and recieve push notifications with the iPhone OS 3.0 update. All of these features work relatively well with little lag. One huge advantage over the free version of AIM is that their are no advertisements, well worth the cost of $2.99. While other apps let you use different IM platforms and have location aware status messages most are expensive (notably IM+ and BeeJive IM) and will run you $9.99. One Nicky implemented feature is the ability to have a favorite buddies list and AOL adds text messaging to the App. For any AIM or ICQ user this app if worth the money and to top it off, no adds run in the program. AOL has a hit with AIM and this will allow them to keep it's massiave crowd happy for years to come.
IDLE By: Quoia - Jul 2, 2009 Version: 3.0.1 UPDATE v3.0
I LOVE IT. ESPECIALLY SINCE THE PUSH NOTIDFICATION IS FINALLY ON. &Nd LANDSCAPE MODE IS ON TOO :). BUT WISH IT COULD LET US HAVE THE OPTION OF BECOMING IDLE AFTER A CERTAIN TIME. 5 STars.
I like the app but I was wondering if AOL could let us become idle after 10 mins like the sidekick, and it would be good if we could have landscape mode too, and it would be cool if it could make the ipod touch users become mobile also. Just a few requests, but AIM is a good app.
UPDATE PLEASE By: TheNate15 - May 11, 2009 Version: 2.0.1 This app is pretty useful if your out and about and still need to keep contact with your friends who are stationary and on desktops. BUT I would suggest that you guess make a few adjustments like making the app landscapable and also allow iPhone and iPod Touch users to join GROUP CHATS. I only got this app to conference with my partners. Please take your customer's suggestions into consideration. Great app just would like to see some touch ups
Great app! :) By: Your momma?!=P - Oct 25, 2009 Version: 4.0.2 I've had this app for about eight monthes, and it works great. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that there are no chatrooms, and when you go away and type something in it, your not technically away. For instance, if you look at your profile through aim (which I figured out how to do by accident, mind you!) it's the usual whitish grey thing, not the yellow thing for away. I like how in the older versions, you could type an actual away message and it would be yellow -not whitish grey. Other then that, I love this application a lot! :D
Could be better By: Burning_fury - Aug 9, 2009 Version: 3.0.2 When I sign in and I have a message that was sent to me while I was offline it takes forever to sign in. And when I'm talking to people it'll freeze when it's receving the message. And recently when I send something I'll go to the list of people who are online and hit the home button and go into a different app. And when I open AIM again the message didn't send. Fix those little bugs and it'll be awesome.
