Did you know that the common fly can actually be used to deliver messages? Well you do now!
flyChat is an interactive tool for making new friends that encourages you to ‘network’, outside of your existing network. To spark a conversation, simply create a message and attach it to a fly. That fly will carry your message wherever you want: to a friend, a school, a city, a country, or to someone completely random anywhere in the world.
Using built in themes like sports, humor or news, you can ensure that your messages are being sent to the right audience. Customize your own flyChat experience by subscribing to the themes that interest you most so you know you’ll receive messages you actually care about from users in the flyChat community.
flyChat’s network system is how you specify where you want to send your messages. There are four main categories: World, Country, City, and Institutions (workplaces and schools). So you can send flies to flyChat members in a specific city, or choose to send message to random strangers anywhere in the world. Of course you can also send messages directly to friends you’ve made playing flyChat, and send invites to encourage your friends to join! Potential uses are virtually endless with this global, open-ended system. For example, you can make new connections in Australia prior to an upcoming trip, chat with the global community about electric cars, practice Portuguese with a new friend in Brazil, or find a soul mate.
To help you make new friends, every flyChat user has a personal profile that you can use to share information about yourself and to learn about others. You can add a profile picture, and everyone has a wall you can write on. Profiles also keep track of and reward you for the number of friends you’ve made on flyChat, so chat away, make those flies work for you!

This is an awesome little app. I've been using it for a couple of hours and have already given and/or recieved jokes, book suggestions, recipe ideas, and random conversations. Thus far most of the people on the app are quite friendly. The only thing keeping me from giving it five stars is the fact that they don't implement the autocomplete feature when typing messages. Grouping conversations in your inbox so all the messages from one convo are together would be nice too, but not as big of a deal. Definitely worth the $1.99. :)

Fun, but has it's dull points

This app is fun but has been a little dissapointing overall. The auto-spell correct doesn't work. When I ask a serious question that I really need an answer to I get no response, and most of the messages I've gotten are either silly & useless, guy's asking to hook up, or spam. Not sure if I'd ever meet anyone useful on here. Seems like they just need more people to join.

Loving the app but please, please, please can we have spell check/auto correction in the message window? Please?
Also be good to be able to switch to a profile from the message before you respond.
Rating will improve once these features are added.

I think the concept is cute but this sort of misses the mark. The output here is sort of an elaborate yahoo chat room except you are throwing out a line to a specific count of people.
Most folks don't respond back and there are no trending topics to add to. You are seemingly putting a note in a bottle and hoping some random stranger answers you back. Since there are no age brackets to separate into, most of the notes you receive tend to be those for younger people (leet speak anyone)?
Nice concept but I think it can be improved greatly.

Unless you are looking for a bunch of pervs wanting someone to talk to, this app is not for you. Neat concept and the fly interaction is entertaining. But the input interface really blows. Needs to tie into system spell check and interface. To give the app credit, it would be better if there were more users looking to chat up topics --- but right now it is just a bunch of guys looking for dates.
What a waste of time/money

The graphics are cool at first, but get annoying quickly. Very few messages arrived. At most there were 3 "flies" with messages in one session. And the messages are really dumb. E.g. "it's raining here. is it also raining where you are?"
Don't waste your time/money. Go with Twitter and one of the iPhone Twitter apps instead.
Nice idea - needs more work

1. The software is buggy. In numerous occasions menus/navbar disappears. I have to leave the program and come back in for the menus to be visible again. In other cases the app just freezes.
2. Why am I limited to sending an empty chat/fly to 10 people or audience? What is Audience anyway? Does this mean that when I send out a message only 10 random people can see it? If that's the case - why? Why can't I just send a fly message to unlimited number of people, or into FlyChat World, sorta like Twitter.
3. And the most annoying part is inability to add multiple location in my profile. I live in San Francisco Bay Area, which consist of dozens if not hundreds of little cities. Why am I limited to seleclting only one? Why can't I select multiple cities around me, or better yet - mile radius from my city or zip code?
