This is a great app. As for gay is a sin. If your going to run your mouth get your facts right. People do not pass on aids people pass on HIV. It is just as easy for a man & woman to pass HIV on as it is for two men & two women. God created love not sex if you read you bible you'd know that. Yes sex is to reproduce that is what you breeders are for ! Just remember you straight people are the ones who raise us gay people !

This is a great app. Although it's missing a few things like: faster startup and login, view more guys at a time (no limit), upload more then one photo, better response rate, and search would be nice as well. We have ALL been asking for the features for months and still nothing. I'm hoping they get added very soon. Btw, not allowing adult photos doesn't work. People do it anyway. I mean with OS 3.0 there will be parental controls. If your that worried about a kid seeing a few pornographical photos, just put a lock on it. After the 3.0 release I think they should just allow it.

So I'm not going to get into all the obvious flaws with this app cuz I think we all have the same basic problems.. I will say turning off your 3G helps a little bit with these problems (at least in my case) That's all I can suggest.. Of course you get no help from support which is mediocre at best. I think anyone who gives money to these lazy developers should be shot for being an idiot. I'll pay any price for an app that works the way it's suppose to.. Maybe it will grindr.. Doubt it. Funny thing is there are plenty of social networking apps out there that are free and don't ask u to donate.. Too bad none are glbt related. Bottom line.. Wonderful concept.. Terrible app.

This is one of the best apps for the iPhone I've used by far.. It has many great features and is very smooth and bug free.. It puts users in a one on one private environment with simple easy communication with each other It sorts users on the main display by distance so you can find whoever is closest to you without a problem.. You can add users to your favorites so that they appear first on your list regardless of distance You can block users that you don't like or are bothering you. You can send other users pictures You can send other users your location

I think this is an awesome application. I have been talking with adorable guys all day. At some point the app couldn't connect to the internet. I reinstalled the application but to no avail. All of my other applications are connecting perfectly. I cant figure it out. Can anyone help? Once this problem is solved it will be one of my FAVORITE applications. Please post another review if you know how to fix this. Thanks

I love this. It is so simple and just does what it is meant to. Yeah, for sure, it's early days and there are some teething problems but nothing major or that can't easily be fixed.
If you already have this, I suggest you rate it 5 stars regardless of what you think (email Grindr directly as I did with any suggestions). Lets face it, the higher rating it gets, the more publicity and promotion it will get meaning more guys downloading it and more guys to play with. Simples!

How long exactly does it take to log on?

I've read 5 min and 20 min to log on, but there have been times when it doesn't even log on at all. Sorry, no I had not timed it, and no I'm not going to wait 20 min to log on anyway. Also. Sometimes I've noticed when it DOES log on, it doesn't seem to show the same people. They're profiles will be there next time I log in though. :-/ what's up with that? Sadly though it's still the best app of it's kind to date.

This was a great app! Bloody great! I download it at the begin of may, it had a load of problems that other users had reported I found it ok still. I still loved it I could log on chat to guys it was easy to use and fast ish! Now in the last week and a half the app crashes, guys don't get message off me, it takes ages to log on and pics don't load.I feel it is because the app isn't coping with all the new guys it got after it's 'Outing' on Top Gear, this is a dam shame because this app could be one of the best apps on iTunes.Come guys updates please, give us a stronger app! Thanks all the same!

great social app for gay guys :) I feel like a lot of the previously mentioned problems (ie, crashing & freezing) have been fixed. however, a few improvements would really improve the experience, such as: - push notification - ability to hide/show a viewed profile's information as it veils most of a user's image - ability to customize or sort the profiles (ie, by online status, distance, etc...) if you're thinking about it, I would highly encourage you to download :D

Here are some suggestions:
1. Have all chats on ONE screen (maybe using different color bubbles or profile pic inside bubble). It is annoying to have to go back to all profiles listed to switch from one chat to the other.
2. As it has been suggested already, users should be listed by distance.
3. Landscape mode.
4. Please KEEP pictures unsaveable: I love the security of showing my pics without worries.
5. DO ALLOW multiple pictures per user
6. Private pictures to unlock to selected users.

I absolutely LOVE this App!!
However, There are still some Issues that need to be addressed.
1.) It freezes
2.) It laggs while trying to scroll down or up.
3.) Signing ON should be effortless, but chances are you'll have some problems doing so.
I noticed that during certain Hours (mostly evening hours) you either sign on for a few minutes before it boots you off... OR you simply cannot sign on at all!
Number 3 is my major concern. I mean honestly, the point of the App is to Sign on and start communicating... What's the point if you can't even sign on?
Other than the few "issues", this App is a must have for the gay community.
Hopefully, these bugs will be fixed... and soon!!

Massive login problems

Is anyone else having trouble logging in? Sometimes it will just load forever with no sucess (even after reloading several times) And then other times it will say there is no Internet connect when there clearly is... Grindr was perfect until only a few weeks ago Other than the login problems, it's great But it's annoying cause ice only been able to login probably 10% of the time. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!!

Honestly I love this app. It's got a great concept and does what it should, however, with the new update it now WONT load ANY more guys. I've restarted the app and my phone and waited a day but still nothing. FIX IT PLEASE!!!  also, having more then one photo on your profile at a time would be great and having different sections like "profile photos, info, and chat" would be a nice addition so that your not limited to a certain amount of what you can write on info, and so that you have specified places to look for photos and info. PLEASE ADD THIS SOON!

Fantastic idea, poorly executed. Even on strongest wifi signal (on iPhone) it more often than not won't log me in, even though it connects enough to show other guys. It will rarely download another guy's profile pic or pic he has sent me if connected on 3G or lower - I have to wait until I'm back on wifi, and even then... (see above). Who would want to pay for the upgraded version I have no idea when Grindr can't event sort out the basic one. Come on guys, get this really rocking and loads of people would consider paying I'm sure.

Love Grindr. Hate Grindr.

Grindr is like a drama queen. Fabulous one minute and working your last nerve the next. When it loads and logs in, and there are guys nearby, it's great (and yes, I've hooked up using Grindr). But Grindr is tempramental. Sometimes it won't log in, the app freezes, and even if I start and restart and reboot my phone, it still won't work. It's free, and a great use of iPhone technology, but if the app stability isn't improved, we'll have to start cruising parks and going to bars!

I live in a small town so all social networking apps seem to bring up the same people (each) every time. Might be different in a big city. Only two quarrels with this one: The thumbnails are tiny: could we see 3 people across instead of 4, please? Also, when you bring up a profile, the white text for distance, age, etc., seems to be against a light background more often than not, so is unreadable; maybe reposition it and put its own background behind it? Or use yellow text or something unlikely to be in the background?

Starting using Grindr 4 months ago & already have connected with many guys. Although most claim they are on Grindr for friends, their naked chest pic suggests otherwise. Love the ability to chat & upload photos. Don't like that you can't zoom in or out in a photo or be able to save it in your phone like you do with Twitpic. Grindr can be buggy & freezes many times, particularly in big cities with a large volume of guys online.

This app is really nice however it won't reach full potential until push notifications come out. Until then you are stuck checking this app at regular intervals or keeping it open. Grindr still feels like its in early development even though it's been out what two months as of the writing of this review. It freezes frequently, it takes varrying amounts of time to update the cascade regardless of wether you are on edge, 3G, or WiFi. The distance problem is improving but still very iffy, a friend of mine and I constantly check our distance on Grindr when we are hanging out just to see how close it gets its only been right about 3 out of 1000 times it was checked but considering it is usually within 300ft I would say its doing a pretty damn good job. To sum it up love the app but it needs push notifications and lag/freeze fixes.
