na  rating of iCall Free VoIP

Look the app is free in situations were I am at a friends house"this has already happen" and didn't get a cell signal I could make a quick 5 minute call. Im giving it 5 stars I use only the free version and by far it is one of the coolest apps I have downloaded yet. I can find WiFi spots all over my area and if I need to make a quick call to it someone know something I do. Sometimes its a little staticy but that depends on the WiFi connection I am on. But still its FREE!! If your using the free version and are bitching about anything dont use it. I love it. Keep the updates coming guys I just might pay for the full version when my home phone contract is up.

Great app n makes free calls in the US  rating of iCall Free VoIP

I heard about this app at CNET n I thought I would give it a try. Download this app less than a minute. There's a pay feature or the free version to make free phone calls. I picked the free version n I was able to make calls over wifi. The call quality is excellent. I would use this app during the day when I'm home so I don't use my daytime minutes from AT&T. I also read u only get 5 minutes per call, it's not bad like I said I will only use this during the day (weekdays). Or when I travel I can use it where ever wifi is available. I would recommend this app to everyone. Also stop complaining only 5 minutes per call who cares it's free so enjoy it. This app is on my first page home screen whenever I need it =]

It does work if...  rating of iCall Free VoIP

Most people say it doesn't work, but it works fine if you FIGURE IT OUT yourself. I'm useing the CAN and USA free calling on my iPod Touch and it works fine. What I did for the verification call on my iPod is use my home phone to call the number. Nobody picked up, so I kept calling the same number until a message popped up on my iPod saying that the verification was complete. So ya, it works fine, but nobody can call you on it, and it drops the call after 5:00. Pretty awesome for an iPod.

Great!!!!  rating of iCall Free VoIP

I live in Montreal and there is alot of free Wi-Fi in this city. I can make VoIP calls in almost every corner with my iPod Touch! Each call last 5 minutes only but you can call back. For those of you who have problems registering for free calls, during the registration proces there is a moment when the application ask you to call a US telephone no. do it with any other telephone. I made a mistake and called with my home land/line. I should have call with my cell phone because the number that the other part sees is the one from which you called. Now when people miss my calls they think I'm at home. Great application!

The quality's okay. & im using an iPodTouch2G with the earphones that come with the iPhone. My internet works great, but somtimes my friends can't here me(the apps fault, not my internet). Barley though, so that's good. Lets see. & SOMETIMES it comes a bit late. When i asked my friends. ''Can you go to the mall tomarow?'' Then im usually gonna have to wait like 3 to 4 seconds for them to recieve it. or for me to recieve what there saying.. Besides all that, THE APP IS THE BOMB! Wait are there limits? because i can keep talking, but out of no where it just hangs up & i have to call the person im talking back. i'de say every 3-5 min of talking?

Um...it does work 4 the iPod touch  rating of iCall Free VoIP

For the people complaining, leaving 1 star, and being totally subhuman (you know who u r!), you are probably poorly educated, alone and broke. But for those of us who actually follow the developers directions...this is the Godsend that touch and phone users were waiting 4! Fring DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE! And it only gives you 3 free calls. I called my boss from my touch as soon as I installed the app, and then he called me from his. I have a macally speaker mike from ebay and another el cheapo headset mic from eBay for like $4 from japan. Enjoy! Thanks icall!

Not so Skeptical  rating of iCall Free VoIP

***iCall added a feature allowing you to test without entering CC information or updating you to calling plan after 3 days...app works great***
I have to say I was looking forward to the app, but I am not a fan of the fact when you opt for the free service it indicates in three days that it will move you to the service that costs $9.95.
If I had been given the free option, then after the grace period the App disabled itself, I would be a little less skeptical about full trying the app.

It's good  rating of iCall Free VoIP

I have skype an fring they are good an free but on fring will cut u off after 2 minute an it take like a minute start an skype is faster then fring an the same as icall but u can talk longer on icall. But with the free call u need to put in a cell phone number to start ab after that It's good. If you have an iPod touch 2g like me it's good to have on there. Apps like this makes me won't to get the iPhone 3gs

Most usefull free app you can get!  rating of iCall Free VoIP
By: Jaycking - Oct 8, 2009

Unlike skype, you can call anyone, not just members for free. You don't have to purchase minutes to do that, like skype requires. It just plays a 15 second advertisement before it connects to the call. That's the ONLY catch here! But, THATS HOW they keep it FREE! way to go! I don't mind waiting a few seconds before a call. I now have the ability to use my itouch like a cell phone (hot spot needed) it's pretty easy to find free hot spots, especially if you have a free wifi finder app! BEST OF ALL YOUR NUMBER SHOWS UP ON THE OTHER ENDS CALLER ID! so they know who's calling, not some weird 1000100 number that no one ever answers. It took me about 2 minutes after downloading this to make my first iPod telephone call. Now people think my itouch is a new slimmer iPhone! Which it now is! Without ever getting a phone bill. If it wasn't for the time limit on the phone calls, I would totally discontinue use of my cell! STOP READING THIS AND DOWNLOAD BEFORE THEY REALIZE THEY NEED TO BE CHARGING FOR THIS!!!!! Ps , no I am not a developer nor do I know them! Just my honest opinion!

GREAT! MUCH BETTER THAN FRING!  rating of iCall Free VoIP

I do not know what you guys are talking about when I called my dad he talked back and I could hear him very well. I will be getting a 3.5 mm mic soon hopefully it works well. And I love the free calling I am using the free calling option and it works like a charm I don't care if people can't call your iPod back free but, I don't care this is a great app for calling. Also it is much better than Fring Fring drops every call I have ever tried with iCall Free voIP it never drops 1 call and it's free a must need for all iPod touch users!

iPod Touch  rating of iCall Free VoIP
By: theBRIAN. - Sep 26, 2009

This app is great! I have a iPod Touch and I purchased microphone headphones and this app works fantastically! Don't give this app a bad rating just because your iPod doesn't work with it, unless your ignorant go ahead. Otherwise just buy microphone headphones like me! I also like how it doesn't apply roaming charges to your phone company. I am giving this app a 4/5. (I gave a 5/5 to compesate for the losers that gave it a 1/5)

Active development is nice  rating of iCall Free VoIP
By: Flip Chatter - Apr 5, 2009

It's great to see active development of an app, many developers build an app and walk away never to be heard from again.
I personally can testify that features I requested only a week ago in the forum were added. The developers answer questions, listen, troubleshoot and work on bugs.
This is a 4 star app right now but I'm giving it 5 stars because of the effort the developers put in with communicating with me.
I can only assume the people who are complaining must have a bone to pick with iCall because I have had a very good experience with their product, plus it's FREE, what can you possibly complain about when somebody gives you a gift?

Great app, great quality, and it's truly free.  rating of iCall Free VoIP

Very nice improvement in service with this update. Audio quality is improved and the free calling is kind of hard to argue with.
Free calls, free beer, free rent.. can't really complain when you dont actually have to pay for anything :)
Somehow some people still complain though. I think it's more a testament to what a bunch of whining losers people can be, somebody gives you 100% free phone service and you give them 1 star because you don't like their facebook page?!?!?!??!
iCal, I have to wonder if Skype or Truphone are paying people to give you bad reviews because your app and your customer service have been great for me.

The call was so clear that I thought I was still ok a cell call. I turn my phone into "airplane" mode and then turned my WAP wifi back on. Launched icall and the call any thru with out a hitch. I'm looking forward using this when I travel to Canada. ATT rates kill me. The hotels I stay in all have free wifi. So I'm looking forward to tryi g this out and saving $$$$. Thanks guys and keep up the good work 

Well worth the wait and the extra coin.  rating of iCall Free VoIP

Been waiting for this app for almost a YEAR! Well worth the wait, the customer service is good, they respond to the help forums VERY quickly, I would highly recommend you use it if you need anything. The email responses are surprisingly fast too. And to think, they say an update is coming soon just makes this even more of a must have. I always had problems with my ATT connection at my office and my apt, but thanks to iCall I have crystal clear reception in both places. Well worth the money for the ability to make decent call on my cell phone (call me crazy). Extras that I would like to see: "spoof" my iCall number to show up as my att number in caller ids a visual voicemail solution would be gravy! That's about it, even without those "extras" this app still deserves 5 stars. Thanks iCall! Awesome app, well worth the wait.

iCall Finally Hits the Store!  rating of iCall Free VoIP

I have been waiting since September 08 for this app, checking each and every day for it to hit the Apple Store. Low and behold....it finally arrived. And I am so HAPPY too! It was very worth the wait too! Works GREAT, ha s few bugs they are working on but it is indeed wirth the wait. I cannot sign up for AT&T servie where I live and so I have been using my iPhone for everything BUT as a phone. Now I can use it as a phone too! The calls are slightly laggy (they are working on this now) but very good otherwise. THANK YOU Apple Store for finally getting it in!

Invaluable for international travelers  rating of iCall Free VoIP
By: defaultjosh - Aug 21, 2009
Version: 1.2.2
I travel overseas occasionally and use this application to stay in touch. Works perfectly, often with more clarity than a cellular call. The application is available for iPhone as well as your computer. The iPhone program associates outgoing calls with your existing cell number so reciepients will know who is calling. The iPhone program also limits you to a 5 minute call before you are automatically disconnected. The number of calls you make is not regulated, however, so it is simple enough to redial the number several times. If you do not have the patience for redialing every so often, you can purchase a $9.99/month subscription that enables unlimited call length, assigns your iPhone a unique cellular number for WiFi, and also includes voice mail. This application is wonderful and well worth the download whether you use the free or paid verion.

new fave app  rating of iCall Free VoIP

I just got this app. I have the free version and so far it's awesome. I called my phone, my sisters phone and my dads cell all fine. and I love how it says it's your phone calling people. I have an iPod touch, so of course I'm gonna need to invest in a microphone to use this, but I already love it. I gave it four stars because I've only had it for five minutes, so obviously I don't think I'm exactly qualified to give it five ;)

finally, the solution to all my problems  rating of iCall Free VoIP
By: jon.f - Mar 25, 2009

i've been waiting for this app ever since it was first demoed back in June 2008. the basic premise is it uses your WiFi signals to make/receive calls and can even switch current calls from the carrier to WiFi. I practically never have service where I live, so this is perfect. Currently, it says signups won't start until March 25, so we'll see soon if this works well. The app may be free, but if you want unlimited calls and a personal number for people to call you direct on, than there is a $10/month Total Access package as well as a pay-as-you-go model.

Touch user. I am pleased  rating of iCall Free VoIP

I was too concearned about the bad things said about the pay as you go so I did the free version. I'm very pleased the quality is very good considering this is free. Good for making quick calls as I understand it cuts off after 5 min. Using free version and I haven't seen these ads they are refering to. No complaints for a free app this functional, based on reveiws/compliants from pol who used pay option there are probobly better apps if you are going to play.
