I think it's great if you want to save money and I do. Actually my dh didn't want any extra add ons since we already doubled our mo cell phone bill switching to the iPhone w a data plan from a basic tmobile plan we had w old razrs. So he had no txt and I picked the 200 msgs - well after 10 days I had knew I needed more min but that would mean an addl mo fee ～ luckily, I found this and I put it on my dh phone too and friends that have I phone I know I emailed , so I happy w it. I don't text too much but sure have found once people find out u have txt capabilities they lov to txt u . And yes for $.99 it may be the 1st app I buy

Great app. Works quickly and efficiently. My child lives in a different country and using SMS is very costly. The cost of the full app equals four texts messages. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple takes ownership of this app during the next software upgrade since ping takes advantage of Apple's push capabilities. This app deserves to be part of Apples repettoire. Like it so much that I emailed all my friends to join.

I just wish more sound tones could be used since the default can be sometimes either too loud or somewhat annoying.Also if for some reason you lose your phone you won't be able to use that nick again since it'll be attached to your lost phone. Also if you reset your phone, you risk losing your nick since anyone can grab it while you let go of it (unregister), eventhough you might be able to still find it available, IF you're quick enough.

After trying another free texting program that was not quite perfect, I downloaded ping lite. So far its been really good for me cuz it's free. It's a great way to text without the texting charges. The downside is that it's only to use between iphones/itouches. Not everyone I text has one so I still have to use the other app. I know my friend had better luck with the lite version over the paid ping version. She wasn't getting the messages I sent her but I was getting all of hers.The layout is nice, not hard to message or read. I would like to have sound options. It would also be nice to see a character countdown so I know my message isn't going to cutoff.

Fantastic app that really works! I regularly text friends and now I don't have to pay for any to other iPhone users. I can't recommend it enough. Works well and "does what it says on the tin"
