I have tried a number of Texting Apps on the market, and many have some cumbersome interface that makes texting impractical. There are no ads to contend with to limit the real estate of the screen. The interface is set up like the integrating texting mechanism on the iPhone and from the user's perspective, operations are seemless.
For the price, this app serves as having the best value since there is a ONE TIME fee of $4.99, unlike others who charge an annual fee.
Conversations are kept appropriately in the user's profile on the app. Additionally, there are included backgrounds and ringtones that allow for customization. There is the in-App purchase option to get additional backgrounds and ringtones allowing the user to identify based upon the rington who is texting you. AND unlike other apps that are available on the App Store, the developer has a website that gives ongoing customer support which is updated with regularity.
As of now, the app does not support MMS. I hope it does in the future (however, it is not my main mode of communication). Don't let me speak for this app, for myself. I was just as skeptical before purchasing this. I read the reviews on the App store and read the thread on the MacRumors website. Research this for yourself and decide. I made my decision and I am glad I did.
The attention to detail and ease of use makes this app a MUST BUY.

Saves me 20 bucks a month!

I have been beta testing this for a couple months before its release. It has always been the best and most reliable. I have textfree and this totally kills it. There is no comparison. The UI is much faster and cleaner. Don't hesitate people, this is the best without a doubt. The start up time is at least 3 times faster than Pinger and messages arrive much faster. With Pinger, messages get losts very often and Textnow is very reliable. Textnow even supports Google Voice integration. Text people from your Google Voice number. This app is amazing and people should know that it is the best that is available.

This is a really cool app. The background for the texting is really cool. It would be cool if we could add or own picture to the background where the texting page is. It's a really fun texting app. The other thing is that we could add our music as our ringtone. It would also be cool to send picture messages on this app. Really cool app! 

I love this app, I got my testing taken away. But now I can text again, it's the same thing as the messages app the only thing is u can't send pictures that's the one thing i'd like this to haveBut still this app is amazing U should get it It's worth the $$$I rate this app 

This is a great app, and I see that the developer responds to the reviews which is great!!! (well, the other reviews say so, i haven't owned it long enough to know yet)
This app is pretty smooth and crafted, with just a few things that I'd love to improve. And most of it is just cosmetic junk.
1) I would appreciate if there was a character count, because there seems to be a point where it stops sending words (that's what my friends have said) and leaves out stuff.
2) A few crashes (even after restarting it) with the rotating keyboard I would like to be fixed.
3) For some reason it has time issues (like it takes forever or doesn't even come or go) sometimes when texting a mobile phone. (no bad internet connections and its connected perfectly all the time too) And then sometimes its so ridiculously fast and perfect that I sit there in awe! So please fix reliability. (maybe it's just me or something...)
4) Display of the time when you recieved or sent the message (like under the bubble)
5) Make the font on where you type bigger. Its kind of small and it would be nicer if the font and the bubble were bigger
6) Make the app just a little more prettier, a little more 3D looking almost like it pops up out of the screen almost. It's not a big thing, but when the app looks crisp, clean, and professional looking (like your app icon does!), it just adds to the greatness of the app and makes the customers happy that they have such a cool app.
Thanks for your time and consideration, I understand how much time and effort it takes to put something like this together. It really is a great texting app, superior to many on the app store, and I'm glad I spent five bucks on it.

A new app needs to come out

K I use to think it was good. But now I realize it's a piece of junk. I type ling messages and they don't send. They just sit in the "waiting to send" stage. The. I have to select all. Copy. Exit out. Reopen the app and paste. VERY time consuming. Also when I switch keyboards to landscape sometimes the portrait keyboard stays up. Vice versa. ALSO making me copy exit and paste. Seriously. This is the most high tech phine out. And texting is the simplest principle. Were wasting money for s**t like this?? Ha give me a break. Seriously make an app that can do basic functions, or u just gunna keel losing customers.

I will start with design. Althought it needs some more touches on the UI, it looks pretty good. colors do match eachother. This apps is also fast, I hope this guys keep upgrading their servers to keep up with the load. Thirdly with the new configuration to work with your GV # this has become incredible amazing. I have converted this app into my most used app in a daily basis. Overall today this app is by fart the best on its category. For all of those who were complaining not having one dedicated number, get this baby configured with a GV # and you will simply love it. Thank you for your creativity Enflick Team!!!

Works just as it should. This app is about one update from being king of free SMS. The SMS go through and replies come back fast. I have the other free text app and it works too but is kind of buggy and is long over due for an update. U SMS has a really nice interface. Once they implement a dedicated SMS @ address this will be the champ. Nice job on the new version.*update u guys made all the adjustment s that users wee asking for. This app is really nice now. Perfect text format , more themes/sounds, dedicated address. All that and it's faster then textfree. Good job! And I know there's more updates coming too. This is the best free text now!

This app owns textfree by a long shot! Loads faster, sends faster, my only complaint is that they need a new alert sound! As of right now it's the same sound as if your getting an email, which is very faint and I can barely hear it! Other then that this app has big potential, oh and it needs a set # but NOT like textfree's stupid "email address" that crap never works, even ppl on the iPhone can't add a # that has a "@" symbol stupid pinger.

This application is almost there. I'm very glad that I previously purchases this application before, because my high hopes that I had for the update were met with only a few exceptions. Push notifications would be such a nice feature to add. Also, I've always been a huge fan of the Apple Messaging application UI, so I love any interface changes that make it look like that. Otherwise, amazing application. Works so well.

Great App but It Needs Push

I just purchased this app and sent a text message to my friend to test it because we're trying to find the best texting app. He's sticking with textfree but Ill probaly go with this. Unfortunatly it does not have push notifications which I was looking forward to especially since one of it's free competitors textplus provides support for push. However this app does have a cleaner and smoother interface as compared to textplus. Hopefully this app will receive push very soon and when it does I will add the fifth star on my review. I'll also be recommending this app to any of my friends looking for cheap unlimited texting. I have not used textfree much but apparetly reading some of the reviews here people are saying it has multiple ringtones. The ability to change it on here would make this app a whole lot more interesting. So my final request is push at least but changing the ringtones would be truely unique

Ok. You gave the app a five star review. Now you are think "wait. How did they do this?" Same goes for textfree (yes. Lite too) Now. If you spent five dollars on a texting app, Im guessing you have at least gotten a lite version of an app that sends through your email. Yep? And what did you rate it? ? ? That is what this app does! What? It creates you an email account and then sends texts through the email! Yep. That's how you send texts. As for textplus? Wow: google voice intergration is amazing. People send a number to my bogle number and I get it on here. When I reply, they see my google number, not the email. Amazing. Plus, google voice keeps a record of all texts. Just open google voice online and your set!Cosmetically flawed. Once it's polished and looking good, you can even charge 7.00 for it. 1. There is no "clear text" function. Meaning you can't hit x to delete the typed text. 2. Text box overlaps previous texts. 3. A number without the 1 (ex 555-555-5555 vs 1-555-555-5555) does not allow that persons names to show up on alerts or on the app. 4. Sometimes the text will get "stuck" and the app has to be restarted. 5. Text gives two sound alerts for incoming texts.6. No refresh button on individual text contact page. 7. Buttons look hideous.8. The main page is gorgeous, but the text page is ugly. 9. The actual font (ex: the font used for typing a Text) is weird and not consistent with the rest of the iPhone10. Needs a time stamp for every text. I can't remember who sent what when.11. It would be great if it could count how many texts you've sent and to whom. Please fix these. Thanks :-)

they coming new version 3.3. if they add copy and paste and add big word in application, when we write or read word and more speed.because i think textfree same speed with textnow.when you sent text need more speed. but its good
