Great for on-the-go writing

I found this app to be a tremendously useful one, though I wouldn't say it's for long-form writing. As great as it is for short updates, writing for longer periods of time is rather tiring. I also loved the publishing options - in some cases the functionality of the mobile client's menus were much greater than those of the online version. And as soon as the HTML editing part of the app becomes a bit more sophisticated and copy n' paste appears in OS 3.0, it's going to become the ultimate mobile embedding machine. I highly recommend this app to any serious blogger. P. S.: photoblogging could use some work as well, but hey, that's better done on a computer anyways.

Have been using on my blog for the last four weeks with no issues. Found it easy to get up and running and very easy to create new posts. Use the upload photo function and this worked well although was a little slow but this maybe due to size of photos. Tags appeared fine on my blog but didn't really use categories, so cannot comment. Overall, highly recommended and glad to see a developer releasing something for free, I would have been happy to pay a couple of quid for it as well :)

There have been some well needed updates to this app but each time the new features always work well. The best thing id the ability to prrviee your posts, not only preview then but it displays how it would look / be layer out with your current Wordpress theme! I think the last few features that need to be added to make this app complete are: -The ability to remove posts and pages -Add links and sidebar widgets on the go ( Mainly the text widget ) -The ability with some admin features, but only for non-wordpress.com installs as wordpress.com blogs dontvhave full access to settings but it would be useful for own- install blogs. Overall, download it if you have a blog!

Though it was prematurely released, WordPress is out, and it the best forum/blog app yet. You can manage as many blogs as you want, and you can save articles ” pending review” right on the phone. Posting is almost immediate and seamless. It does have drawbacks though. For one, you can only post on pages made on the phone. Also, you can only delete posts on the computer. All in all, since it’s free, it really is worth at least taking a look at it. Verdict 7/1

Bug with local drafts

(this is just to inform other users, I will report this bug on the official blog ) This app seems to work for me except for local drafts... After I save one, it does not appears in the "local drafts" section. The number of saved drafts is updated though... For anyone who don't like this app because it seems buggy, don't forget that is open source, so it is always in developpement and it will stay free. I will simply wait for the next version where all these bugs will be (I hope) corrected.

Here is an app that is not fancy or shiny, but brilliant. It simply does what it says on the tin. Before I would have to do my blog updates with the laptop and this is no big inconvenience to me, but its just fantastic being able to shoot a photo, write your blog and post it while standing in a queue or out and about. If you have a Wordpress blog then this is a must for your iPhone. Job well done!

Wildly impressed with WordPress so far! I can't believe they included all the functions like tags a labels. I expect to write half my blogposts on my iPod. For version 1.21 this is an amazing effort. I would pay for this, but it's free! Can't wait to see what else they bring to the project! My very favorite feature is the offline mode: write your post, save it as a Local Draft, and upload the next time you am within wifi coverage. For a iPod Touch users, that's an essential feature.

I had thought about setting up an email posting service from my iphone, in the back of my brain I knew something like this would be published eventually. Just test drove a post, very happy indeed. I use a lot of different css styles within my post, I think I may well set some defaults up for iphone posts so the formating keeps inline - this is a great application and worth downloading for quick blog posts and photo updates. Suggestions and ideas for improvements: Publish location feature, Rotate landscape, Comments editing.

Better than the paid apps

I never thought this would be better than the two most highly-rated paid blogging apps - Blogpress and iBlogger - but I was so impressed by the speed, stability and features of this Wordpress app that I've given up using both of those paid apps. Blogpressis slow, crashes far too often, and has a finicky landscape mode. And iBlogger doesn't even have a landscape mode yet. Let's just say I'm not impressed after paying ten bucks for it. The only thing missing from this Wordpress app for me is an offline mode and some assurance of auto-save in case of incoming calls.

Thanks guys, all better. Works once again as advertised! Original review: Just spent hours tracking and trying to fix what I've discovered is a common error since the update. Nothing I've tried, from the mundane (switch themes) to the technical (adding a line to the functions.php file) has worked. A shame too since development on the mobileadmin wordpress plugin discontinued since 2.5+ sites break it. No mobile blogging for the time being. I'll add 3 stars if this gets fixed in the next update. Telling everyone to "contact your hosting provider" for an app that WAS working before YOU updated the app just doesn't cut it.

Awesome app! For all the things you are able to do and it being free makes it great. Recommendation: + media library - able to view our media library that has already been uploaded to wordpress server & able to add to media other posts. + text formatting - add options like bold, paragraph, header 1 & 2, text alignment and so on. + page layout - be able to place pictures top/bottom aligned, left/right aligned, or center top/bottom

I'm not the first to say it, but this app is the app I have been waiting for. While I have only had this app for 2 hours, I am pleased with its performance so far. For some reason the app created a blank post to my self installed blog, upon adding it to the app. However, I simply used that blank post for my test post and all went very well. Finally, I will be able to blog wherever and whenever I want meaning more frequent posts. Thank you Automatic, Inc!!!

Good at what it does

Much like WordPress as a whole, this app gets the job done. Unlike WordPress as a whole, the interface is free of clutter and simple to use; if I could hook a keyboard to my iPhone I'd never use the web admin interface again!
I particularly appreciate the decision to support personally hosted blogs, something I'd worried might not be the case. At no point using this app have I felt that that I have any less functionality than for a blog hosted on wordpress.com.

I like to consider myself a "professional" wordpress user. I am a theme developer, plugin developer, and use it as a CMS for myself and my clients. When I heard that Automattic was releasing an iPhone app I was EXTREMELY excited, and this app doesn't disappoint. I have found myself in the middle of traffic and wondering to myself, how I could use this time so much more productively. WIth the WordPress iPhone app all I have to do is start posting away with no trouble at all and my time is now not wasted but productive!

I love this app. What a perfect use of the iPhone platform. Not only does it make editing my multiple blogs much easier, it impresses clients to see me make changes on the spot.
I'd like support for editing pages in a future version. As far as I can tell, this is currently not possible.
I haven't had it crash on me like other reviewers state. I did have trouble syncing once, but I think this was a function of being on the Edge connection, because as soon as I got on WiFi the issue resolved itself.
Thanks to all the developers of this app, as well as WordPress itself. This app is a fantastic accessory to an incredible product!

Bug found

I use wordpress on my iPhone all the time, I have to blogs and after the update I can't use the app. What happens is that one of the blogs has a problem in the script with connection. With the new update I noticed that the app stablish connection to all blogs and my guess is that since one doesn't allow connection the app crashes immediatly. Please fix this by allowing us to edit connections somewher before it loads or by other means. BTW, yes ir do have WP 1.7 installed on both blogs. I will give it 5 stars when this issue gets fixed.

This is a great application, its also free.
It also has one bug, that seems to be fixed in this version, I say seems because it is so fearsome that I wait, wondering when and if it will strike.
Test if your local drafts folder is working before you write war and peace because it has a habit of eating the post. The local draft folder will show how many files there are say (3) for 3 posts saved, BUT you go in the folder and there is nothing there.
I just deleted the app, losing 7 drafts I have been waiting in hope would be recovered by loading 1.21, but nothing. The folder now works, but I am loathe to trust it.

ALMOST perfect blogging tool

Simple to setup, more or less hassle-free blogging. There appears to be an issue with future-dating posts, as the time and date you set seems to coincide with the app's own internally-set date and time, as opposed to the timezone information you have set through your WordPress server.
There are a couple of other glaring omissions such as the inability to take a picture in landscape mode from within the app, and also the lack of an option to place images throughout a post (attached images only appear at the end of a post). Other than that, very well crafted and a very simple, straightforward, useful app.

I have this running on a first gen iPhone and it's fine. No crashes, it just works. It supports multiple Wordpress blogs and gives access to your blog categories as well, so posting into the right place is no problem. Draft posts are saved on the iPhone, so you don't have to finish your post and upload until you are completely happy with your words. There is a bug in the current version that inverts photos taken in portrait mode, but it's being fixed. The updated version 1.2.1 is in review with Apple as of this date. Fix that and this is a 5 star app.

Good for posting to Wordpress on the go but needs some tweaks

This is a great app for posting to your Wordpress blog. I've used it to good effect so far with posting both text and photos. There are a couple of niggles I've noticed, however. For instance only some of my categories were listed to choose from when writing a new post with the one I wanted missing. Also when I went to edit a post I created previously it would only show the text as far as the 'read more' line. I believe a 1.2 version is on its way with enhanced support for WP 2.7 so we'll see what that offers.
