Dreams do come true By: Gutsgonebad - Sep 25, 2009 Version: 1.0 This is the app that all true diehard sports fans have been waiting for. I live just a little to far outside of the Youngstown 1240am broadcast and the same with Pittsburghs to get decent reception, and since my xm radio was stolen I have been completely lost without my mike and mike, cowherd, and van pelt. Thanks to this app I have this problem no mo. It even works just fine when I only pick up the edge network. This is truely one of my top three favorite apps. Fantastic work!!!!
AWESOME!! By: BE9872 - Sep 24, 2009 Version: 1.0 ESPN has hit a home run here! If you like ESPN Radio, you've got to get this app. I'm going to be cancelling my XM Radio soon, don't need it anymore now that I can get ESPN Radio on my iPhone. Pay no attention to the critical reviews nearly all of them were people not giving 5 stars because ESPN didn't have their local station. Hopefully they realize this is for ESPN content mostly and not for you to be able to listen to every sport talk radio host in America... There have been a few times where I had a hard time connecting, but that's not the apps fault, at&t, the app works great! The price of $2.99 is more than fair...
Boo-Yaa!!! By: DJ C Note - Sep 25, 2009 Version: 1.0 This app could go all the way...!!! Where to start...lemme just say this app is awesome! Being in LA and being a HUGE Steelers fan it sure is great to hear about a team I'm interested in rather that listening to how great USC is. I love the ticker at the bottom of the screen. I love the podcenter that let's you listen to your favorite ESPN podcasts. My only thing with that is that I wish podcasts would be made available the same day they aired. THAT would beridiculous!! But c'mon, I'm being nit picky. I love that for most of the audio, you can stream it in the BG and still do other stuff on your iPhone. Wish more apps let you do that. ESPN + iPhone is like Big Ben to Santonio Holmes, corner of the end zone...TOUCHDOWN!!!
Best app for sports fans By: lge777 - Sep 28, 2009 Version: 1.0 This app works perfectly in 3g smooth and flawless, I hope they add more markets for the station you can listen to, But there is a generic Espn Radio station thats not locked into any Market you can play, if they don't have you city on the list. They play by play game was on a 3-5 min delay from live . The thing that TOP this off is the scrolling scores like watching ESPN. ESPN (ABC) took there time and thought this app out before release it and it show...GREAT JOB ESPN you get a perfect 10 on my scale, this is over all the best app ever made.
AMAZING! By: cardinalryan - Dec 11, 2009 Version: 2.1 Absolutely the NUMBER ONE app in the store! They could've charged $10 and this would have been worth it!It operates flawlessly and has a stunning interface...simply the most useable app in the store for a sports fan!UPDATE: For the people complaining that this should be free...YOU LOSERS! If you are claiming that other apps offer the same thing for free, then you are the idiot for buying this one! Fact is, other apps do not offer the same functionality for free...holy crap, $2.99 for an app as well written as this one is a bargain and anyone who says otherwise is just plumb cheap, a complete idiot, or a little bit of both!
What a blessing this app is!!! By: JD in Charlotte, NC - Dec 10, 2009 Version: 1.0 Since I never purchased Sirius/XM, I could only catch Espn shows in the morning or when local radio would give us 2 hours...All my favorites live and straight to my iPhone... unreal!! I've had no problems with connections at all. The 20 minute Sportcenter updates are great and so is the Bottom Line feature. Also, having the podcasts there is super convenient as well. This is absolutely worth the few dollars it cost!!!!! Thanks ESPN!!!!
Stupid posters By: Traveling Idiot - Oct 11, 2009 Version: 1.0 My god some of you people are so stupid, nowhere in the description does it say you get pro games. I wonder if some people even read the description before they post. The ap does what it says and does it well. As someone who listens to slot of spots talk it is great. The national espn stuff is about as bland and boreing as it gets (I've got xm for that) but the local shows are cool to listen to. Kornheiser, Galloway and Czaban their local shows just to name a few are great. On the down side if you travel and use this sometime you Drop the signal now and then, but that is more of an AT&T issue, not an apple/ap/espn issue.Bottom line, if you want to hear local eson shows from around the county it works as advertised. If you want games look elsewhere.
Very, Very Good By: iReviewer4U - Sep 20, 2009 Version: 1.0 ESPN's Scorecenter app left much to be desired, however, with this app ESPN hit a home run. The interface is amazing and the functionality is nice as well. The option to easily run a live stream in the background in safari with a touch of a button is brilliant. I don't believe Wunderradio or Ootunes has this capability. Also, live college football games is NICE! Bye bye Sirius / XM!! If ESPN could add their Sunday night baseball feed and as many live events as licensing will allow (NFL, NBA, College Basketball, MLB, etc.) to the live college football play by play feeds they already offer, this app would be off the charts. Well done, ESPN, well done. Now someone over there needs to totally redesign that Scorecenter app asap!
Props By: OKROC - Sep 19, 2009 Version: 1.0 Disappointed in Scorecenter (no push and not very deep). Disappointed in their FFL app ($4.99, should be free). But I have to hand it to espn here. This one was well thought out with slick interface and scores/headlines scrolling at the bottom. Click on a headline and read the story without leaving app, and get this...it streams in the background (through safari) while u play apps or use your phone however u want. That is big. And while I still wish it was free, $2.99 isn't bad. Especially when you consider the monthly cost of Sirius. For once, they got it right. Really right. Kudos to ESPN. You have a winner. Big time.
Finally... By: Duckfan Phil - Oct 12, 2009 Version: 1.0 This app is genius. I've essentially traded the hilarious joke that is oklahoma sports talk radio, for colin cowherd, scott van pelt, ryan russilo, and doug gottlieb. Thank you JESUS. Only complaint is that it stops as you move in and out of different networks (i.e. walking through campus), you pretty much have to put your phone on 3g unless you're staying put in one spot, but thats not a big deal anyway. Buy this app its worth 4x the price.

BETTER than you could imagine … By: WeArePnSt8 - Oct 9, 2009 Version: 1.0 WOW … Bought this for the nationally syndicated ESPN Radio shows, like Mike & Mike, The Herd, etc. Got a HUGE BONUS when I found that you are able to listen to local coverage from various affiliates & even non-ESPN nationally syndicated shows!! Jim Rome, Fox Sports Radio programming, etc. If it's on the particular ESPN Radio affiliate you select in the app (with the exception of most live play-by-play broadcasts), you can hear it through this app!I have my doubts, but hopefully they won't adjust this so it will only offer ESPN programming.BUY THIS NOW!*update* Might I suggest to the many of you complaining about the lack of live games, READ THE DESCRIPTION! It doesn't claim to offer what most of you are asking for. This app is primarily for ESPN Radio programming, which is sports talk, not play-by-play. As my original review noted, you DO get other programming, which is a great value for $3.
ESPN™ By: xHALFRICANx - Sep 19, 2009 Version: 1.0 Thank you ESPN!! Only now I wish my 45min. drive to work was doubled! The interface is was well thought out and implemented. The app is only available in a horizontal view but didn't bother me at all. Has all the podcast's you could possibly want, such as but not limited to; The Herd, PTI, Around the Horn and MiKe & MiKe. ESPN SCROLLING allows you to touch or drag the news to the full story which I thought was straight hot! The app also has the option to play ESPN radio in the background while you do what you want with your iPhone. However, it does not give that ability when you listen to one of the podcasts. Live streaming channels are just icing on the cake, as they come in crystal clear! I couldn't have been more happy with my 2.99 purchase! Before this, I would listen to ESPN posdcast on my mobile Safari. Now... I'm doing it in ESPN style with a plethora of options and stations! There isn't a single reason not to buy this app... It's flippin ESPN peoples!!
Revolutionary radio app By: Infoshman - Sep 21, 2009 Version: 1.0 Want to listen to a radio station in the background while checking your email? You can with this application. It launches Safari and starts the radio stream, leaving the iPhone free to run another application. (No, I haven't tried running Madden '10 as a concurrent app.)The list of espn radio stations covers Washington, DC, several FL cities and Cleveland, so you can listen to a variety of local programming. In sum, the app works well, lets your iPhone do double duty, and looks good doing it. (ESPN, consider selling skins in team colors.) Worth the $3.

Great to have, but way too many commercials By: JRob80 - Oct 11, 2009 Version: 1.0 I like this app, i do. I've enjoyed listening to the different anaylists while on the go. Its great for work, travel, school everywhere. The problem is, WAY TOO MANY COMMERCIAL BREAKS! Obviously, when it comes to apps sometimes you pay more so that you don't have to deal with ads, pop-ups, etc. This one, while it isn't an expensive app, you'll get the feeling that you paid just to listen to Geiko commercials. I'm not talking about one commercial per break, they string together several minutes worth on every break. It helps that you have access to 10 or so ESPN stations so you can flip channels while one is on break, but they're all that way so don't be surprised if more than a few of them are on commercial at the same time. To sum it up, if you love sports, love ESPN enough that you gotta get your sports fix several times a day, regardless of products and sales being pounded down your throat; this is that app for you. BUT if your the type that can't stand commercials, ads, etc DO NOT get this app. Just get your sports news the old fashioned way, on the web.
Very good app By: Brads n3w name - Oct 15, 2009 Version: 1.0 It is a great app, and one i would recomend to anyone. Few problems are misslabeling of what's playing on a station, not playing things they said would be on ESPN Radio (I tried to listen to the Twins-Tigers game and it wasn't on anywhere), and most of all it DESTROYS the battery. ESPN needs to lighten the app so it doesn't drain 70% of the battery in two and half hours. But overall, it is a great app as long as you are close to a charger
Good, but several annoyances By: KJPod - Dec 2, 2009 Version: 1.0 Some nice features but several annoyances prevent me from giving a full *****. Most of the time I want to use this app to access the PodCenter, but the app appears to be hardwired to play an ESPN radio affiiliate on launch, and won't let me proceed until it's got that up and running. But more significantly, while the application allows the live ESPN radio stream to continue to play in the background in Safari, this ability does not extend to podcasts from the Pod Center. Thus, when directed to, say, go to PodcastAwards.com and vote for a podcast, I either have to wait for the end of the podcast (by which time I've usually forgotten to vote), or quit out of the app, go vote, then come back and try to pick up where I left off, a process involving several annoying steps even if I haven't forgotten to note the timestamp of where I left off. Worst of all is what happens if I get a phone call in mid-podcast. That immediately and irrevocably kills the podcast with no chance to note where I left off, forcing me to run through the podcast later to try to manually find my place. As a conduit to my local ESPN Radio affiliate it works well and given that this seems to be the app's primary function it's enough for a positive score. But the PodCenter portion of the app needs work in terms of robustness.

AWESOME App! By: BobEsco - Sep 23, 2009 Version: 1.0 This is simply an awesome app! Best app I've ever purchased for sure - and well worth the $3 - and one of the best apps I've ever downloaded. Great interface, love the way it works in the background if you want to use other apps, really all-encompassing. Only reason it didn't get full Five Star treatment from me is because it really wears on your battery life - wish they could find a way to address that.
Great app, only one tiny complaint. By: Coogan - Sep 24, 2009 Version: 1.0 I watch Mike & Mike in the morning and now I don't have to miss it when I go walking with just my iPhone, I can listen to it on the go. I love listening to the podcasts when I want. My one complaint is that I can hear a pre sound echo. I'll hear a second of the talking at a low volume and then hear it at normal volume. Sometimes I'll hear a tone in the background as well. If you don't know it's there you wouldn't even hear it but I can hear it. Get rid of that echo and noises and it's five stars.
