Description:
Thanks to a sponsor FREE for a limited time (usually $10). Plum Caddy is simply the best golf mapping and scoring software for your iPhone. Early reviews do not describe this version. It is a combination iPhone and Web application. You need to try it to see how it works and why pro and beginner golfers are raving about it. Plum Caddy/Clubhouse are as much a revolution for golf as the iPhone is for mobile phones. Power up your golf game, remember each stroke and get a birds eye (and GPS accurate) view of each hole on the course. Plum Caddy transcends the more limited abilities of dedicated hardware like Sky Caddy, Golflogix, iGolf, Bushnell Rangefinder, uPro, SureShot. Never wonder again how far it is to the green. Plum Caddy uses REAL GPS accurate maps, providing instantaneous sub-5-yard accuracy without the slowness and large margin of error of the iPhone GPS! Plum Caddy is very different then other golf applications because it does not work alone. Plum Caddy connects to our Plum Clubhouse to download any course. Plum Clubhouse has a golf course construction kit that allows anyone to draw any course and share it with others. To draw a course is simple. Once a course is finished it can be shared automatically with everyone else using Plum Caddy. Plum Caddy comes with many courses but the constuction kit allows even remote and less played course to be added easily. No more waiting for someone else to create your favorite course. Created courses look beautiful and provide instantaneous sub-5-yard range finder accuracy to Plum Caddy. Be the first to create your favorite local course using our Google map golf course mashup. Check out these two preliminary videos that demonstrate how Plum Caddy and Plum Clubhouse work here: http://www.plumamazing.com/Plum%20Caddy%202.0.mov http://www.plumamazing.com/Plum%20Clubhouse.mov Check out the manual here: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dxt3z6v_144gq5sjwdw Experience the difference Plum Caddy makes with better club selection, faster play and better statistical information per round. * Range Finder * Distance to the green from every shot. * Scoring and statistics for each game and historical rounds. * Golf map template creation using Google golf map mashup. * Review all previous holes with a swipe of your finger. * Use all the iPhone features. * Real GPS accurate maps of any course in the world. * Zoom in and pan around a course. * Have maps with all terrain features. Nothing compares to the ease of creation, accuracy and beauty of courses created in the Plum Clubhouse. Plum Caddy is by far the best mapping and scoring software for the iPod touch, iPhone, and iPhone 3G and its the only one that connects with a golf course construction template creator for adding any course in the world. The Plum Clubhouse is located here: http://www.plumclubhouse.com Feel free to add your favorite courses. The Plum Clubhouse is a community for creating/sharing golf maps. Once a course is created, it is shared with everyone in the clubhouse. Plum Caddy/Plum Clubhouse is your electronic caddy/clubhouse to help you with maps, knowing distances, scoring and recalling your games. Plum Caddy allows you to see info about a course when you need it. Use Plum Caddy to now exactly what strokes you took in a previous round when you don't remember. Track your score, view your history, and take your golf game to a new level with the combination Plum Caddy/Plum Clubhouse. And the really amazing thing is even more is coming!

Reviews:
Best Golf App on the AppStore By: killroyboy - Nov 19, 2008 Version: 2.0 So I must admit that the first version (1.0) was not very good. But this latest version, with the introduction of the Clubhouse, really rocks. The Plum Clubhouse is by far the easiest way to create a course that I've seen. They've done a good job of leveraging Google Maps without relying on them (and thus the network connection). They've also eliminated the need for the GPS, so owners of a Touch can use it as well (although I think GPS would be a good option if you want it) . I've tried running through a full course that I've created in the Clubhouse and it really looks good (although I haven't been able to try it out on the course yet). This thing is a real caddy. It gives you distance of your last shot (and keeps it in the history for the next time you play the same course) and the distance to the center of the green for your next shot. I've been told that, in a future version, they will analyze each of your shots with the different clubs and recommend the best club for the next shot. The best part about the courses is I have complete control. If I can't find my course in their database, I can just create it. If I notice that a hole is messed up in their database, I can correct it. Overall a good App that is awesome already and has even more potential.
Take the time to map out a course, it's part of the experience By: Johnnyutahxx - Nov 11, 2008 Version: 2.0 Their customer support is great, quick and helpful. This is a great app but you do need to be ready and willing to map out a course. If everyone who gets this app would do their part and map out at least one course we would be flooded with playable courses. I feel like there are a lot of people who gave this app a ridiculously low rating because they wouldn't take the time to map out their course or familiarize themselves with the app. Because once you do that it will become an incredibly usefull tool. I like it, I use it, and get ready for continued improvements in the upcoming updates. Thanks Plum Caddy.
From frustration to anticipation By: SB Atlanta - Aug 11, 2008 Version: 1.0 I bought this on Friday Aug 8th and deleted it on Aug 9th. That being said, I have taken a 2nd look and attempted to get some answers from Plum Caddy to try and salvage my $9.99. I was very excited to use on our course in Atlanta but could not get anything to work. After I trashed it off my phone, I wrote a letter to the company and was shocked to get a response, on SUNDAY no less. They were very curious about my problems and asked detailed questions. Then...shocker...the phone rang and "Ben" from Plum Caddy was calling to help with the issues and also told me what was coming with additions and updates. Kudos to them for caring in this day of lame customer service. The reality seems to be that they might could have spent some more time testing but they went ahead and launched anyway. I guess it's tough to test a product like this without the masses getting it in their hands. Our feedback seems to matter. I'll be patient...these guys get it.
So close By: timothy m - 08-Apr-2009 Version: 2.0.1 I would be giving this application 5*, if they sorted out the course creation tool on the Internet. It is soooo anoying that when I try to make the course, it seems to crash and none of the tools I.e fairway, cart path or sand trap will work at all. I select them, and try to create a sand trap, but when I start trying to put the dots around the edge of the sand trap, nothing happens, I click, but it fails to register anything. Please sort this out as I think this app could be awesome!!!!
On the right track By: Jbitson - Aug 7, 2008 Version: 1.0 After pricing golf GPS devices with full color I chose to try this app. One great feature is the fact that you don’t have to shell out hundreds of dollars for a device and then spend more money downloading courses. You just choose each hole from a generic list then let the GSP determine the distance the ball was hit. The app tracks the club used and the number of strokes for each hole. This program works well, but there are some features that would make it more useful; It needs to have the ability to track more than one golfer. It should display the distance to the green from each shot. There needs to be more choices when choosing a hole template. It would be really great if you could create your own course layout and share it online then download it to your iPhone. There should also be a way to make notes for each hole for example: “Keep to the left to avoid the water hazard”.

Massive improvements on the way! By: ck- - 09-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0.2 I have been fortunate enough to have seen the way this app is developing. The developers are very receptive to new ideas and are developing the application / crushing bugs at a great pace.
Keep checking back here for the new release, and I think you'll find it well worth the money.
The golf course creation tool is fantastic - I created my home course in a couple of hours.
Worth the work cuz it's free By: motormouth / bones - Aug 27, 2009 Version: 2.0.1 You may have to map some courses but once you get that done it runs awesome.

Really cool addition to your golf bag By: DirtDawgGolfer - Nov 18, 2008 Version: 2.0 Started out a little rough but there are lots of improvements. I used it on a round with a friend who had another Golf GPS tool and Plum Caddy was way more fun and just as accurate. The ability to set up your favorite course from Google Maps satellite view was really cool. Keep it free or under $10 and it cannot be beat.

Muni course players take note By: krisshuka - Aug 4, 2008 Version: 1.0 It's time for municipal course players like you and me to step into the brave new world. I used Plum Caddy on my municipal course here in Hawaii and found it to be a great addition to my bag. Now that I can judge distance, I hope future versions of Plum caddy will correct my slice, find lost balls, and, maybe include a long range taser for that guy ten putting ahead of me.
