Reviews:

By: curtis_mufc - 17-Aug-2009 Version: 1.0 Brilliant app! What makes it even more brilliant is it's free. Love the live pics feature. The vidi-printer and news ticker are also very good (like on SkySports News). The match statistics are well done and presented too, not to mention the player statistics. There are a few downsides tho, the line ups are flipped left to right and you can't veiw the fixtures for a league without going on the date. It just needs the ability to choose what league you want and then view the fixtures by a calander or something. Also, I don't think you can view a league table without first finding some matches for that league in 'fixtures'. Never the less, 5 because its good and free.
Just a brilliant and powerful app. A must have. By: tacklebag - 18-Aug-2009 Version: 1.0 I've read a pretty negative review of this app. Ignore this and any others In my opinion this is a terrific little app. Been watching Champions League tonight whilst keeping up to date with goings on on Scunthorpe, Sunderland and Nottingham. Very impressed with how the app works. Does just what it needs to. For those wanting it to be a little bit more then watch the games on TV. Extra touches like goal alert wouldn't go amiss. However, even without this feature it's a really good app. Highly recommended.
Thank you Sky Sports! By: AppBoy123 - 06-Nov-2009 Version: 1.1 What a great app this is. As an avid football fan I wanted this 2 be really good and im not disappointed especially considering this is free. I dont need to type out everything it has coz its exactly what it says on the tin, the only complaint I would have is its quite a while from when a goal is scored to when it comes up on the scores (about 5 - 10 minutes) but this doesn't matter coz as apps go this is a great one. P.S dont listen to the reviews that says it takes ages to load that all depends on the strenght of your connection.
At last the footie application I've been waiting for! By: mozzer1967 - 20-Aug-2009 Version: 1.0 This app is fantastic, it is slickly designed, fast and provides all of the info that you want to know about fixtures and live results, including team news and formation in diagram just like on Sky! I would willingly have paid for this so major bonus that it is free!! No more messing around on web pages trying to get footie results and fixture info it is all here and much faster than web browsing.
Absolutely essential By: Steve-savalas - 20-Aug-2009 Version: 1.0 What a brilliant app. Browse through the next weeks' worth of fixtures, add the ones you want to keep an eye on, watch the live commentary, view the stats, player profiles & photos, game stats, vidiprinter, tickertape banner scrolling along the bottom of the screen. It's just like having sky sports news on your iPhone - absolutely brilliant. View the photos from the games (in landscape too). The ONLY single gripe I have is that the whole thing should also be presented in landscape mode, just like it is on TV.
Great looking portable Skysports By: N1GHTFALL - 06-Aug-2009 Version: 1.0 As you'd expect from Sky this app looks great with some great features. Scrolling news bar is nice. It's going to miss the push facility but for free is great to use alongside. The definitive footy app and a more than worthwhile free addition to ifooty+. Will be firmly rooted to my frontpage of apps. All it needs now is push notifications for gave teams. Just witnessed the live vidiprinter and increased it to *****
Thanks, devs. By: MaverickUK2K - 04-Oct-2009 Version: 1.1 Excellent app. This application does as it says on the tin - it gives you live football scores and text commentary and also ha an excellent news feature (though in truth, the headlines from the Sky Sports website should be pulled into the app to make it truly up-to-date news). To those who are complaining of slow speed, I strongly suggest you get off your Edge connection and/or use a wireless connection that is stable. The in-game advertisements are none intrusive and are esentially harmless - they need to recoup costs of developing the app, so how else should they do it?We have many clever cloggs writing reviews at the app store, it's actually becoming rather sad.All-in-all it's a good app to keep track of Liverpools epic failure in Europe.

At last! By: Mister Frost - 08-Aug-2009 Version: 1.0 At last a decent app for footy scores and a format we're all familiar with. Videprinter is a nice feature. A facility to select 'My Clubs', which automatically searches and loads your team's scored, as with other apps, is what is really missing with this one - even better pop those scores on the home screen instead of a Sky selection of matches. Easier access to league tables would be nice too. Otherwise excellent!

Jeff is a legend By: Pre72 - 09-Aug-2009 Version: 1.0 Ok this is amazing but you want to hear how to improve it yeah? Here's 3 things I can think of, if 2 of them happened I'd give this 5 stars.League tables are needed. I just looked now to see what the championship looks like after gameweek 1 but I can't find it.The ability to select a team and view that teams fixtures/results rather than by looking at fixtures by date as it's not as simple anymore as a Saturday 3pm kick off, games are played on all different days of the week and ittakes too long to find a specific game on the app.Live commentry from the studio would make this app 10 stars in my eyes. It's must be possible. Say when only on 3g or wifi, something like that. Please. Get it done.I also think you should pair up with 'fantasy.premierleague' so us 2million players on that fantasy football site know 'who got the assist' and how many points our player is on that day etcProbably never going to happen though but worth mentioning! In a nutshell, more amazingly thought out apps like this please!! They make weekends so much more fun.
excellent but ... By: Johnson94 - 13-Aug-2009 Version: 1.0 I love this app the only improvements I can think of for this app are:•To enable push notifacations for games that you have selected into your favourate thing (can't remember the section name)•To be able to add a team into your favourates so all of their games are there, so you don't have to pick out every single fixture.•Plus it would be great to add an offline feature.this app is already brilliant and with those updates could easly become my favourate app in the app store.
Good app but looks terrible By: stewartfinn - 14-Aug-2009 Version: 1.0 Function over design on this app. Will be essential app if it works as it should - all the info right at hand. Designer needs slapping tho - It is bad taste even by sky's standards - boxy and garish with horrible marbled backgrounds. As I say must have app but with so many people going to be looking at it they should work on the design! Tis a foreign concept for Sky but 'less is more'
Great, but.... By: kierant - 16-Aug-2009 Version: 1.0 This app does what it says it should and does it quite well, but there's definitely room for improvement.I haven't read any other reviews but I would imagine others have requested some of the same new features to be added. These would be:- being able to add and store favourite teams, rather than having to manually select their fixtures each time.- push notifications on favourite teams' goals, sendings off etc.- more detail on vidiprinter, such as goalscorer. This app will be one of my most used now the football season has begun, but I would definitely like to see it improved.
Good but not great By: Woody 10 - 28-Oct-2009 Version: 1.1 Good stuff for the price (free) but it could really do with some notifcations for goals or general events, cos I want to do other things while a match is on (like check emails) and while I'm away I have no idea what's going on and I cant be bothered to sit there for 90 mins watching it for events, even just a little ring would sufice so I know somethings happened and I can go look at it! But for the good points this provides the widest and best coverage in general of European football.
Great App. By: JaimieRamsay - 15-Sep-2009 Version: 1.0 This is a great App. Well worth downloading. The only thing missing is being able to select a team and all the matches automatically getting added to your games area, rather than having to go and add them all manually. I would like to select a few of my favourite teams, (Norwich, Hearts, England, USA) and not have to go searching for them. Other than that, it is well worth having this app, if you are even mildly into your football.
Nice free football app By: PrinceGaz - 22-Sep-2009 Version: 1.1 As I said, a nice free football app (why isn't the cricket one free too?), which does a good job of letting you monitor scores in matches currently being played. I do have a couple of suggestions which could improve it though: a) in the 'My Scores' screen, there seems to be a bug which causes it to switch to 'Edit' mode when it updates the scores if you leave it there to monitor several matches scores at a time (so you need to press the 'Done' button to come out of that mode to view details on individual matches) b) as well as being able to add fixtures individually, being able to select teams to add which would automatically add all fixtures for those teams until un-selected would be desirable Overall a very good app though, and even better that it is free (even if it is a blatant promo for Sky Sports News, which is a great channel in its own right, so no problem there).

Unbelievable Jeff!!! By: Hunnle - 12-Aug-2009 Version: 1.0 I only comment on apps that are truely great (this & ifitness) fantastic app, I don't understand how u can give anything but 5* it's free, has every match and is impressivley fast, does exactly what it says on the tin, to give this anything other than 5 stars is a disgrace to a great app! x
