Reviews:
Still 5 stars By: swemoney - Sep 9, 2009 Version: 1.0 UPDATE: The week 1 schedule weirdness seems to be resolved. I'm keeping the 5 stars and just hope that yahoo adds the few features that would make this a truely killer app this football season.
I'm going to give this 5 stars anyways even with the small schedule glitch that has players listed on a bye week when they aren't really. I'm sure this will be fixed. Works as expected!
I would also love to be able to view players on other teams, view the latest news and notes about players and post some smack talk on the matchup like on the website, but otherwise it's pretty great!
Great App but something's missing By: Cornfed POLCAT - Oct 31, 2009 Version: 1.1 Hard to complain about a great App that is free the update took this app to a whole other level of awsome it is better than all other FF Apps. Would love it if I could make trade offers (send, accept, decline) see stat projections for all players and teams, and the last item on my wish list wavier wire addition support that would make this app worth paying for hands down. Great App over all highly recommend!
It has arrived! By: Cyrus6000 - Oct 31, 2009 Version: 1.1 This update finally replaces the need to manage my team from my computer! Good job Yahoo. Only tweak it needs is to be able to switch players on one step. So instead ofhavibg to bench the qb then selecting from the available players, we should be able to just tap the player we want to bench then select theplayer we want to be used. It's just a simple change that would make the swapping a single step instead of two. Otherwise this app finally does everyting I need it to
Lacking in some features By: Zogman100 - Oct 30, 2009 Version: 1.1 Good start but hope an update is coming soon. Ability to see other teams in the league is much needed. Went to look at my matchup and final score this morning and had already switched to next weeks matchup with no way to look at my final results for this week. Overall a nice app to keep track of my score on gameday but more features are neededUpdate- new update makes this a 5 star app. Ability to see all the teams in your league and any weeks matchups makes this the best Yahoo Fantasy Football app!
Finally a REAL Fantasy Football App By: KyleM463 - Sep 8, 2009 Version: 1.0 After all those stupid Draft Kits and all those subpar apps that let you check the stats of a list of players but not actually check and manage your own team, finally a Fantasy Sports provider has stepped up and made a REAL Fantasy Football App that lets you edit your roster, add players, and view the week's matchup in real time... and it's free! Thank you Yahoo!. Now it's time for the other Fantasy Sports providers to step up (I'm looking at you ESPN).
Dude, it's FREE! By: BogartofElCajon - Sep 17, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 People who are whining a lot, should just shut up and make your own. You're worst than a GOAT! IT IS FREE and better than nothing.
Yeah, I understand it has no way to check previous week and other match ups in a league. But you can check your score almost in realtime. You can even substitute a player right in the app. It needs improvements and stuff, BUT ITS FREE!
A person posted that the web browser was better. Here's a little note to YOU, unlike you, some people doesn't leave in a foxhole all their life!
Four stars of hope! By: d_flat_minor - Sep 15, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Can only give four stars because it feels like the prelude of what's (hopefully) to come. As others have noted this version lacks live scoring, trades, smack, commish notes, watch list, etc. However, this app is beautifully designed, fast and has the basic lineup management functionality. There is obvious locations for the missing functionality (scrolling bottom nav). Also as noted, kudos for beating ESPN to market. Shocked they haven't released something. So, because it's free, very well done so far. Very much looking forward to a fully functioning app. If all functionality is included and executed as well as what's here, happy to pay a couple bucks.
Great and useful! By: jlondon81 - Sep 14, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 First off, this has to be better than what ESPN is offering. ESPN advertises a free online game but charges $4.99 for the iPhone app? Please!
I'm glad to see the free live scoring included in the app. I never paid for it before and was glad to hear they made it free this year. Never having had it before, I was a bit thrown off but the constant adding and subtracting of points, but I caught in quickly.
I would love to be able to see other matchups within the league as opposed to going to Safari. Other than that I cant see too much wrong with it. Seems like it'd be easy to integrate more from the site to the app. With all the competition from ESPN and the like and with these apps being so new, I would hope the geniuses at Yahoo! will get on suggested improvements quickly. Plus, let's remember that Week 1 was the first true run of this. I can only hope for an update by Week 2 or 3 with some of our suggestions.
Decent App... When It Was Working By: ericmthomas - Nov 3, 2009 Version: 1.1 When I first got this app, I liked it plenty. It's not incredibly full featured but it got the job done for a mobile app. I could check stats and move players around, which was fine. Plus, it's free. After the latest update though, I can't even login. AT ALL. It is incredibly frustrating. That makes the app completely and utterly useless. Every time I try to login, it says 'Login failed. Please contact customer support.' Seriously?!?! Unacceptable. They need to release another update QUICKLY. The season is under way.
Been waiting, was really hoping for this. Now I'm really ready for the FFB season. Thanks Yahoo! By: Flash2k - Sep 13, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Nice looking interface. Seems to work quickly even over 3G. Making moves and roster changes is easy. Wish the "home" page gave some more news for the day and you could get updates for your players. I like it, the app looks awesome; very nice UI and graphics. Agree with others you should be able to see your entire league and not just your team and match up. Some player news and scores from around the league would be sweet as well. Well before I never had a problem with the app but now I get messages saying it can't connect to the host or can't do this. It normally still seems to work as it loads after displaying the error message.

Good app (finally). Horrible video content By: the7trumpets - Sep 9, 2009 Version: 1.0 They should have come out with this a LONG time ago. But I'm glad it's finally here.
The app is well done, looks good. Ads are a bit intrusive, but that's par for the course on Yahoo!.
The video content is however, severely lacking in audio quality. It's worse than AM radio, you can't really understand what they are saying as there is no high freequency information at all.
Very good app though, they just need better quality video content if they want to feature it on the main page.
Good first version, but could use more features By: rburtonwv - Sep 8, 2009 Version: 1.0 I think this is great for a first version, it certainly could use more features to make it as useful as the full web site. But it does live scoring and setting line ups, which to me are the most important for that one horrible Sunday that I'm not at my TV and MacBookPro. The schedule is definitely wrong though. In looking at it, it looks like the app is starting at Week 5 instead of Week 1. Yahoo needs to fix this asap. Go to Yahoo's feedback site to let them know the app is wrong, I did. Otherwise I have been lucky enough to not have a crash or other big problems.
Not yet, yahoo! By: iRoCk21DER - Oct 30, 2009 Version: 1.1 App is in need of DESPERATE UPDATE!Connection times out constantly. Have to log out n log in for it to work properly. Need more info on injuries. Need to be able to see other teams' roster stats.Need to be able to see league matchups. This app needs tons of tweaks. But for now it gets me by, I can add n drop players week to week. Hope yahoo! gets it together and puts more time into updating this.--------------------------------Update: Version 1.1Almost every issue has been adressed. The app works wonderful now, HOWEVER!I'd still like to see more info on injuries, I'd like to know how many weeks my players will be out. Other than that, 4 stars.
Good but... By: the dude 25 - Sep 13, 2009 Version: 1.0 The interface is better than the other yahoo fantasy football app. It loads faster however it doesn't have the projected points like the other one. Why don't you make it able to accept all sport like the other app. Also I will like to be able to get into the pick'em, survival, and the salary cap games. If you make the app for fantasy why not include the other games so it improves the chances of having them try the other game just because it is easy to get to. But with all of that said the app does what it says well. Great app.
Amazing By: JikeSpingleton - Sep 23, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Amazing UI, near perfect interaction design, this app is a pleasure to use. I've been waiting so long for a yahoo fantasy football app to come out that didnt make me want to vomit all over myself just looking at it. Yahoo has really stepped their iphone UI design game up. This app is gorgeous. My only request is to change the way players are started/subbed. I LOVE HOW THEYRE GROUPED, but eliminate a tap or two by just making them drag and drop. A simple edit button in the top bar and the ability to drag/drop and click done to set the roster would be much more efficient and eliminate a lot of work for me to quickly set my roster on the go. Thank u so much yahoo. This app was worth the wait. Give my love to your fabulous designers. Thanks, Craig Keller
Good, but could be better... By: yo_paisan - Sep 22, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 The app only has some real core features and not a lot of extras. I guess that's why it's free? That or they were in a hurry to develop it in time for the 2009 season and that's just what we got, I am sure next year will ROCK! Definitely worth downloading and using though! Although if you want more features you can always use the FULL SITE version using your iPhone's Safari browser, I'd say 98% of that works on the iPhone Safari browser.
Great app but needs a little work By: Cmorganbrown - Sep 8, 2009 Version: 1.0 Live scoring plus ability to sit/start players is must have and seems like it works. One bug mentioned by others is that it's currently showing week 5 schedules for my players instead of week 1. In future updates, player news and notes would be great additions, and possibly yahoo's predicted points for the week. Additionally, "smack talk" functionality and push notification of players scoring would be great adds. A good start though!
GOOD APP! MUCH BETTER THAN ESPN'S APP'S By: CAPT_D_BAG - Sep 18, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Overall I think this is a great app! I gave it a 4 star rating only becuase is does not allow you to see players projected stats in the match up screen and it does not allow you to view all the weekly match ups in your league. Very useful tool for making quick roster changes, player adds, and player drops. Also comes in handy for getting live scoring updates so you know how your team is doing! Great app and I'm looking forward to future updates and improvements!!
Very nice & IT'S FREE!!! By: Yamapower - Sep 17, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Been using it all week and then first football Sunday gave no problems. Switching guys in and out no problem and stats were up to date all day. Easier then using my web browser to check on yahoo!! Would be five stars if you could check other matches in your league and be able to see current news about each player like the little sticky yellow notes in the yahoo fantasy site !!!! Highly recommend this to all!
Ton of potential By: Bigdonkey - Sep 10, 2009 Version: 1.0 The app looks great and is def handy. Could use a few things
1. When u select a player on your team there should be info reguarding status ( injuries, yahoo recomendation sit/start, news)
2. Would like to be able to view other teams in my leauge even if I'm not matched up against that team this week.
3. Needs list of recent transactions (why waste time searching for a player that just got picked up by someone else in your leauge)
4. Leauge notes/trading block
None if it is major and I will use this app with or without the changes good work yahoo
