Good app if you know how to use it

The bad reviews are correct in regards to just being a link to the web site. But it's a made for ipod size site so everything fits and is organized like other app pages. Once you get past the initial "Find hotels near me" then you click Home (upper right) which takes you to a page where you can search any city, check your reward points, check reservations, etc. So I'm very glad I wasn't turned away from the reviewers that didn't spend the time checking it out. Note to creator: the reviews will go up if you change the initial screen to do a Search for any city as opposed to being forced to search "hotels near me."

This is my first review, but after reading some negative reviews I felt I had to do this. The app works exactly like it says in the description. If you don't have access to a computer and you need a place to stay, this is it! I found a room using this app at the Sheraton in hauppage, nyc for 65 bucks less than the sheraton wanted, with the same service. Best of all, I paid on my iPhone, got the confirmation email on my iPhone, and booked it ONLY ONE DAY PRIOR! Try this app and you won't regret it. Did I mention it's free?

I saw the negative posts, but the app was free, so I gave it a try, and was pleasently surised. The app does exactly what you need it to. They already have a killer web site, but you have to take time to enter all your current location info. Well the app will use the phone's location awareness , and take that info and automatically feed it to the web app, making finding a close hotel literally a one click operation. I wasn't sure exactly where I was, but was able to books close hotel in seconds with this app. You can't honestly expect more!

Why don't all developers do their homework like Hotels.com? Smooth and classy. Does what is says, and does it flawlessly. It's reassuring to know that in this day and age, something about traveling is getting better. Kudos to Hotels.com. I'l go anywhere with you!

The ONE time I needed this, it didn't come through. Our power went out and there was no way we could sleep without air conditioning. I remembered I had this app, so I attempted to book a room for the night at several nearby hotels--every one of them required a 2 night minimum stay. Not good for an emergency. Giving average rating because I'm not commenting so much on the 'app', if you can call it that, as I am commenting on their service and its value.

Decent program.. not much wow.

I hope I installed this wrong, but from what I can tell this program just grabs your location via the GPS and launches a web page and tells you hotels nearby-- that’s it. If you the hotel web app installed previously, it will keep your user name and password and you can access the regular hotel.com web portal.
So I am not sure I would call it a program, more like a handy macro- it has 3 stars because if you have ever been trapped in a airport after a flight is cancelled, you only have a limited amount of time before 75 other people might be looking for a room also, it's happened to me a few times this year so for ease of use it gets bonus points.

My excitement turned to disappointment. Registration was very slow and the interface is clunky and needs work. Great idea poorly imlemented. Hope v2 will be better.
