So simple with a professional look  rating of Postman
By: Lou Lou & Panda - 18-Jun-2009
Version: 1.0
A great application that is simple, quick and fun to use. Everyone I've sent a postcard to thinks they are just great. Looks like I've spent hours on them! A few suggestions to future upgrades (me being picky): • ability to change font size and text position on front cover eg message on top right/left corner. • ability to add a feature border eg if sending out bithday invitations have a border of ballons or hats or if sending out a postcard of newborn baby have a baby border. But I do admit could look rather tacky when used in appropriately. • smaller font size on back of card to be able to have more text. Thanks again for another great application, keep them coming.

Postcards of exactly where I am  rating of Postman
By: NikachuCA - 07-Aug-2009
Version: 2.0.1
I'd read some good things about this app, and it lived up to the hype. The postcard it creates is simple but effective and the effects you can add are lovely. The key feature for me is sending an email of a google map, showing exactly where you are (you can even add effects to the image of the map as well). The text options are superb, and the final product is very good quality when it turns up in your recipients inbox.
I've been trying out this and Postage, and both have pros and cons - Postman has more options, Postage has more varied templates. Out of the 2 I'm prefering Postman - the interface is perhaps a bit more cluttered than Postage, but the final product is better for me. As each cost about the same as a chocolate bar, I don't feel too bad having both apps on my iPhone.

getting better  rating of Postman

Good idea from Sheffield! As am I ! Please add more templates and fonts etc not been on it too long. Can I move and resize the title? If not this would be good. Please update Now my added review This is much improved keep it up, ability to resize photos and have a more funky hand written font would also make it better too. But 5 for a good app- trusting it will be continually updated. Love the themes 

Great little app  rating of Postman
By: Stukeyme - 01-Jul-2009
Version: 1.0
I was tempted by Postage but then I saw Postman and at only 59p it's a bargain. Very easy to use and does it exactly what I want. It has replaced SodaSnap on my iPhone and will be very handy for my next holiday! I did have a list of updates I'd like to see but it seems the developers have read my mind and they are all coming in version 1.1 to be released soon.... My only other requests are:
1. To be able to modify the 'stamp' (maybe select from a variety or designs)
2. To be able to include both a photo and a mini map on the postcard, maybe the map could be on the 'back' of the postcard or the front could be half photo / half map.
3. Ability to crop / resize photos

Awesome graphics and concept  rating of Postman
By: bluedoggiant - Aug 29, 2009

Just won this app after looking at it for some time, never thought it could do what it does so simply. Everything is easy to use and the graphics are beautiful. I never really write postcards since the Internet is available everywhere, but with this, I can't wait till my next vacation to really use this. Not an absolute need for everyone, but a fun necessity bringing postcards back in a unique way.

One of the best app experiences around.  rating of Postman
By: gongloo - Jul 23, 2009
Version: 2.0.1
Postman is truly a pleasure to use with it's slick user interface and slew of customizations available without overloading the user. I use this to send gorgeous postcards to my girlfriend and she loves them. Surely a winner! Definitely some room for improvement, too. Sure, there's that whole photo resizing and whatnot that could be implemented, but let's concentrate on even better, more profit-bound features. How about an in-app printing/mailing service (using iPhone OS 3.0 in-app purchases?) for sending physical cards via snail-mail? This is just the tip of the iceberg!

Great app but could use improvements!  rating of Postman
By: DigitalSL - Jul 22, 2009
Version: 2.0.1
I love this app however I had a problem with it on sending the post card! It somehow sent over 90 of the same post card to the same person! My friend was upset and thought I sent them on purpose until I explained to her I didn't! Anyways only other thing that would be cool to see is to have the chance or option to be able to have them sent to real postmail too! Some of my family doesn't have email and I would like to be able to share with them stuff too!

Postcard that don't need stamps!!!  rating of Postman
By: Happy to track it - Jul 18, 2009

This app is fun and allows you to send a quick postcard to someone. You could take a picture while on vacation and let your friends and family know how much fun you are having. I have also used it for 4th of July with a picture of fireworks to wish everyone a happy holiday. You can easily send it in your email. One side is the picture and caption, if you like...and back is for your message. It is easy and fun...try it!

Wicked!  rating of Postman
By: Chance K. Johnson - 9-Jul-2009
Version: 2.0
This App is the coolest new way for me to let people know what I'm up too. A couple suggestions to add: One or two handwritten fonts. The ability to chose font colours from the full spectrum, not just preloaded ones. The ability to change the Anime characters on the postage stamp to one of many preloaded images from famous stamps. The ability to change the location listed on the stamp manually. The ability to edit the text on the weather label on the back of the card.

Beautiful application & cards!  rating of Postman
By: catorce - Jul 13, 2009
Version: 2.0
This beats any other greeting cards application out there. It has one of the best, most Apple-esque interfaces of any application I've tried and creates cards that vould've been create by iPhoto or Apple Mail. Most importantly: it seems like the developer is actually doing some work and submits real updates - not a "fixed the bug here everything crashes" fix - but real updates with new features. The app, despite still being young, recently got a great overhaul of the interface and now is even more elegant. It also received integration of Apple's new email slide-ups, introduced in iPhone OS 3.0. Now you don't get dropped into the mail application when you send the card but it simply slides up a compose view and sends it right out of the postcard app. Beautiful - and one of the first apps to actually make use of this new 3.0 feature. Definitely worth its money. Friends love receiving custom-made things like these and now you can create them on-the-go. It's perfect.

Intuitive and uncluttered  rating of Postman
By: isaac1990 - Jul 12, 2009
Version: 2.0
Postman is Mac-like: it just works. It offers enough options (backgrounds, typefaces, etc.) to construct a variety of interesting cards, but makes a very attractive presentation with the photo alone on the front and the message on the back. Integrates well with Apple's Mail program. And it's so intuitive that you can take a photo and have it "in the mail" in less than two minutes. Excellent app. (A few suggestions: institute portrait layouts, and fix the cropped newspaper background.)

2.0? Beyond wicked  rating of Postman
By: fakehead - Jul 7, 2009
Version: 2.0
7/7 New version is amazing. Perfectly adressed the things that need to be fixed and then some. Next update I would like to see the resizing and rotating of images in themes. Other than my comments below, it's kind of hard to find fault with this app. It's damn near perfect. Update: 6/26 Postman also seems to over compress images. Can we get a quality setting? It would be nice if we could send a postcard directly to another postcard user on the iPhone.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.  rating of Postman

For two years now I've been waiting for a program that allows me to send a postcard to my family and friends without shopping for a postcard that someone else offers. I'm now able to use any of my photp's in the photo album or take a new picture to send to my family and/or friends. I truly looks like a real postcard being sent to the other person. It evan has a digital stamp which makes it look real. Very, Very Cool. I just hate taking time from my busy schedule and shopping for a postcard that will do from the rack and then find a stamp from all the stamps I've purchased in the last few years from the Post Office. Then I have to drive to the post office which uses gas and wait in line to make sure I'm using the right postage so I can mail it out snail mail. NOW, it doesn't matter and is very easy to do with this app. This is one of the few apps I use all the time now. If it's lengthy, I send an E-mail. If it's a few lines, I now use the Postman app.

Very nice  rating of Postman
By: AntUK - 13-Jul-2009

Comparing with Postage app...
Pro: Can use a Google map (Standard, Satelite and Hybrid) instead of a photo. This is my favourite feature. Although the first time I tried this, each time I double tapped to zoom in it kept bouncing back out to full zoom shortly after. Worked on second attempt though so probably an intermittent bug.
Pro: Better sharing options. In addition to emails it supports Twitter, Facebook, and Upload (presumably gives a URL to share). Though personally I'll probably only use e-mails.
Con: The UI isn't as slick as Postage. Postage has a beautiful Apple-esque design which wouldn't look out of place if supplied with the iPhone as standard. Postman on the other hand has an average UI, though still functional and not annoying to use.
Con: The themes don't compare to Postage. With Postage there's more choice and the designs are far superior.
Con: There are no options to reposition, scale and rotate photos. Postage implements this perfectly.
For general use I prefer Postage because of the professional themes. If I want to share a map though then Postman does the job nicely.

Great app!!  rating of Postman

Love this app. Some issues I see will be addressed in the next update but as others have already said: 1 It would be nice if stamps could be changed to the country you are sending the postcard from. 2 Being able to use portrait mode and resize or autofit would be a nice addition. 3 Being able to resize and move text to different position on the front of the card would be nice. Other than that, great fun!

Simple and easy to use  rating of Postman
By: Baronial Ascendency - Aug 6, 2009
Version: 2.0.1
This app is as simple to use as an Apple default app and the results are amazing. Only complaint: I wish the Twitter link would have the option to simply twit a tinyurl link instead of posting "Please Mr. Postman, here's my postcard.". It's cute but really irritating. For users complaining they can't clear their postcard and start over, all you have to do is shake the iPhone/iPod like an Etch-a-Sketch and a Clear All option pops up.

Cool - Needs Resizing  rating of Postman
By: Agent Squirrel - Jul 16, 2009
Version: 2.0
For 99cents, this is a pretty cool app. I like being able to use photos that are already in my library and create a postcard that I can email to someone, or even upload to Facebook. I'd give this five stars if it let you resize photos. Actually, I'd be happy if I could just move the photos around so that the part of the photo I want is centered in the template that I'm using. If they come out with an update that does this, it will be very deserving of five stars.

Needs better email result  rating of Postman
By: boblupo (CADCast) - Jul 11, 2009
Version: 2.0
The format of the image is fine, however MS Outlook email recipients get the email as a PNG attachment instead of a rich text or html formatted "postcard" like Postage app prepares. POSTMAN has more features for posting and formatting flexibility, especially what's coming in the new release, but needs a better email format to get 5 stars. It would be nice to have a map AND a photo (Photo on front, map as a faded background image on the back), ability to disable the weather graphic on back, and possibly have additional "stamps". The Facebook post doesn't add the image to the Facebook profile, just links to the Postmanapp site.

Beautifully designed and would be 5 stars if....  rating of Postman
By: LLHB - Jul 8, 2009

Props to Freeverse for a very slick app that's functional and fun to use, at a great price. The one thing that drives me nuts is that it doesn't accommodate photos in portrait format; the entire app is designed for horizontal/landscape formatted pics. (You can *use* a portrait-format pic, but it gets horribly cropped.) I'm desperately hoping they add portrait-format postcard abilities in the next version. And yes, as previsously mentioned, it would also be very helpful to be able to move/resize the photo once you've dropped it into the postcard.

Excellent job ... But  rating of Postman
By: Da "J" Man - Jul 8, 2009

Never written a review before but felt compelled as I really enjoy this app. Developer, I love the themes. I would love to see more in the future. My only disappointment and the reason I give this app 4 stars is the inability to rotate and resize photos. This functionality is imperative for creating the "perfect" postcard. I agree with other reviewers that the "weather" icon is pretty much useless. In short, thanks developer for this app. It allows me to send distant relatives and close friends a unique virtual postcard. I'll be on the lookout for an update. ;)
