Easily worth the $.99 price of admission.
Lets face it, tip calculators are a dime a dozen in the AppStore. They all attempt to do the same thing; however, where they differ is in their execution and ease of use. It is a tough fight to get the place on my home screen as the one tip calculator I need. Tip Calculator has proven to be “the one.” The design is appealing yet simple and it works without having to go through many different screens just to get a tip amount. All information is processed on the main page and this ultimately saves time. Lastly, the ability to adjust individual checks is a great feature when splitting the check.

Best tip calculator out there for sure!

It's all about the function to edit/adjust individual bill, in case someone had less expensive dish or vice versa!!!! No more of those dipsh*ts who always get extra food yet underpay with straight face and forcing others to pay extra. you can now shove it to their face.
Just one minor nitpick thing: in individual adjustment section, i wish to type in exact food price (before tax and tip) in addition to current scrolling or pressing plus or minus buttons, since scrolling/+/- function just rounds the individual bill.

Version 1.1.2 is perfect for me. It allows you to round the tip or round the total, and you can exclude tax for tip calculation purposes by entering the tax percentage. You get to the Preferences settings by clicking the info (i) button, where you can set these two features. You can split the bill, then change the split values for each of the splits. I suppose you could ask for the calculator to should you the tax amount rather than just the total, but that's not a value that you can control anyway.

This is without a doubt THE BEST app I have paid for!!!

I have looked for a tip calculator for awhile and for less than the price of some songs now I found more than I could've expected... I don't regret the $0.99 and would've paid 5 times that for this app... It is CLEAR, EASY TO USE, has a neat, fun looking presentation that is not cluttered; it is EASILY and WIDELY ADJUSTABLE to different situations - ie, multiple people splitting a bill, in the settings section of the phone you can subtract the tipping on tax or I just input the bill in the app 'pre-tax' , you can choose to split the bill however many ways you want (1,2,3,4... etc) you can choose the tip % on the amount you enter and change that (ie, input a bill of say $67 and input that you want to tip 18% and it will tell you... You can then split that bill further among multiple people if you'd like too.) For those who want something more, when the bills are not even splits, you can calculate the overall bill total with tip and split it however many ways then you will have an option to make adjustments- if you split the bill 4 ways, you can INDIVIDUALLY make adjustments over each seperate four parts of the bill, the app makes sure that the bill will still always total what it should so that you don't come up short or drastically overpay either. When independentally adjusting the bill it is also adjusting the % of the tip as well. So if someone ordered a bunch of drinks or a much more expensive meal you can take care of it... But for the majority of the time you can use a straight even splitting feature... I use this App all the time for things like tipping on my haircuts and other situations by adjusting up the % of tip for my hairstylist and down for other things you customarily tip less on... A TRULY INVALUABLE APP!!

This app is perfect when going out with your "cheap" friends. I've gone out with my buddies to eat & say I wasn't that hungry & I just ordered a  my other 2 buddies order a huge buffet, then when the bill comes they want me to  at least half Not anymore Now everyone pays exactly what they owe I use it all the time, no more guess work or trying to figure it out on my  As for the idiots who care about tax If ur that stupid not to know that all you need to do is type in the total price!! The app does the rest

The BEST Tip App in the Store for a LOGICAL Reason

Ok, so this is not the most aesthetically pleasing Tip app in the store. I much prefer the aesthetics of Tipulator, however, this App has one very logical and magical feature. It allows you to adjust individual contributions! That means that if you go out and order a bunch of drinks with some friends at a restaurant and you get the random cheap-a*s person who wont drink and then doesn't want to split the tip evenly because the don't want to pay for the booze, then this App allows you to do it! Genius! ALSO, it gives you the total PLUS tip, which is great for situations where some are paying with cards and others with cash. I tell you, GENIUS!

Great for girlfriend lunches!

Have been using Tip Calculator for a while now. LOVE the feature to split the check into different amounts for the dinners, that was the feature that sold me on the program! If you've ever been out with a bunch of gals, it is just a hoot sometimes to sit with my "Girlfriends" (we are all middle aged to elderly ladies) and watch everyone pick the bill apart and try to figure out who pays what! Especially when some of us "tipple" and some of us don't. And then there's the "I only had a salad and a glass of water" gal who scrutinizes the bill with a microscope! Tip Calculator let's me slide the amounts for each person and even shows me the breakdown for EACH PERSON of Total = food + tip .
Also, I sent a feature comment to the developer and received a prompt and thoughtful response, I really appreciate great customer service like that. Definitely well worth the very reasonable costs! I also bought Tipulator to compare the two programs, and it's basic and fine, this one works better for me when I'm out with friends. I'll be keeping Tip Calculator.

There are sliders to adjust the relative portion of each person. Just slide the button left or right to change the amount for that person. Great if some order liquor or fancy dessert and some not. It then calculates the exact amount for each person and their exact share of the tip (which you can adjust percentage-wise.) How often have you been hit with splitting a bill equally, when your share was way less in reality? Get this!

Great application. I have been using this tool to figure out the tip amount at different countries, cities. They recently moved the setting part to the application itself.
Previously, the setting of tax % etc were in the iPhone settings. With the move of the setting to the application itself, we can easily change the tax %, no rounding, round etc.
On the detail screen, click the > icon on the right bottom, it will take you to another page (slider/adjust screen). At the bottom left corner, you see the little "i" icon. Tap on it and will bring you to the settings for the application.

I like the seperate checks part and ease of use. Would be nice to pick your contacts or add names as an option to check numbers, would make larger check splits easier. Also a way to manage tax (include/exclude) would be helpful. Update: You can now +/- tax. Thanks. One more small issue an it would be a 5 star for me (this & the name thing above). When splitting different amounts you can only change by dollars, no change. Would like to enter EXACT amounts.

I purchased this app because I was interested on the adjustment function, but I found that difficult to use. You can't put in specific amounts, only rounded totals. Also, if you have only three people, the cup saucer "hides" the last digit of the tip for the third person. [update: This has been fixed. I added a star, because the author is obviously paying close attention]. Otherwise entry is fast and easy. My pet peeve for most of these apps, is that it should not be necessary to enter the decimal... The app should put that in automatically.
