This program does exactly what is says it does. Plays avi DivX videos. I haven't had any trouble viewing videos yet, luckily.The video controls are fine and the video quality is acceptable. It also remembers you last location. All in all it's a good little video app.As for the bad comments that there seems to be many of, there a few things people should bear in mind. Firstly the AVI video format is not a specific standard. It is more like a set of guidelines that allow for a great many and varied formats. It is unfortunate but that is the nature of AVI. As such not all your AVI files are going to work but the description of the app clearly states that.Secondly, the app is free. Come on, if you had to pay for this and you were unfortunate enough that the particular video files you wanted to watch would not work I can understand getting annoyed but this is a free app.As far as I know this is the only app that will play AVI direct. That has saved me hours of time having to convert my videos. If anyone can suggest another app that can play AVI direct that would be appreciated.If you have a substantial library of AVI files that you wish to watch on the iPad and do not wish to have to send many hours converting them then download and try this program. Hopefully it works for you.Many thanks to the programmers for bringing us this free app. It fixes a big mistake on Apples' part that it did not include AVI support within the iPad and iTunes directly.

I hated having to convert downloaded avi files into mp4 to play them on my iPad. I've looked at other apps that play non mp4 files natively like oplayer and yx player, but they're all choppy. The other software doesn't do the rendering as smoothly as your player, which is awesome. Some basic features that would make your player even better in future releases would be:- ability to create folders and better manage the media. It gets unwieldy with lots of files. - an audio booster to make the sound louder - a desktop sync app so you can sync without having to use itune

Superb AppFinally....after having my Ipad for over 2 months now, I'm finLly able to load on my music videos and episodes with no converting required.Playback is 10/10Sound Clarity is 10/10Usability is 10/10Intact u can upload music videos in under 15 seconds!So far 4 of my family and friends have also purchased this app on recommendation alone, lolThanks Guys for this amazing App!Keep up the good work, :)I'll be keeping track of ur future developments for sure

For those who complain it does not work probably does not deserve to use it. The description clearly states that it would only work with AVI (XVID) files. It DOES NOT support mkv , ac3 or any other format. I downloaded it last night, put on an avi file as a trial and it worked great. No lag, no jitters. After all, it is FREE so get over it if it does not suit your need. Read the description before you install.

Downloaded this app thinking it wouldn't be as easy to use as it claims, but it is. Thought it wouldn't play the files I wanted to transfer to my iPad, but it does! All for free!Only thing lacking at moment is video out support for apple component cable, however I e-mailed about this and got a same-day response (on a Saturday) saying it will be rectified in 2 updates time!!Would definitely recommend.

Thank you thank you thank you thank you.I have a TON of .avi files that I wanted to watch on my iPad and had to try multiple different conversion programs on my Mac. A few worked really well but each conversion took an hour and a half or more! Ridiculous! Not to mention experimenting with output settings such as FPS, resolution, target file size etc.. Sometimes ruining the quality immensely requiring a delete-and-start-over. Ugh very annoying. I got this app with the back of my mind thinking it wouldn't work all that well or whatever, but have been greatly surprised. The instructions for how to use ire very clear and the app itself just works very efficiently and is better than I could have hoped.I can for the first time watch all of my .avi videos on my iPad without trying to find some run off the mill converter. This app runs smoothly, I have found it very easy to use, the uploading of films to the app is very efficient, definitely thumbs up!

I had read the reviews before I installed this app, but even then I was pleasantly surprised by this app! The transfer process is quite easy and the delete feature is a piece of cake. I was skeptical about how then video would appear when played, but it was as good as watching it on the native iPad video player. I am really impressed! Some videos inspite of being avi will not play, but i guess that in time it would play those as well. Will wait till it plays mkvGiving it 5 stars for it's quality and ease of use!

Usually free apps are full of something, either ads or false promise but this is outstanding, I'd happily have paid for this! It does exactly what it says it does and it does it brilliantly. Well done to all who developed this brilliant iPad enhancing app.My only wish for it is if it could output to TV in the same way films logged through the apple videos app can. Fantastic keep up the development work and don't be afraid to charge for it!

I've been waiting since the iPad came out for a really good video player. I can't wait for them to expand it to even more video formats. Others are charging a premium for similar but lacking functionality. It is great to see a company providing great software for a great price. I would have been willing to pay 5 - 6 dollars for the program. Can't wait to see how they improve the program in the future. We are finally getting closer to a VLC player for the iPad.

So far this is the best Xvid player out there. Oplayer has better compatibility but playback and sound sync is rather good with this one. Initially there was a lot of movies it can't play but they seemed to have sorted out a lot of the kinks, I can't comment on price though because I got this when it was free so I'm quite happy. They should have a free lite version if they haven't already. Apple knows Xvid, Avi and Mkv are important files to be able to play on the iPad and iPhone, the Mac plays all those fine. So I think this app will continue to survive, in any case all the best to the developers. For the record I haven't tried VLC yet.

It's able to play all of the TV episodes I've loaded on it and runs like a charm. The interface is very simple to use and gets out of your way so you can watch things full screen. It isn't a battery hog at all, and I can take my shows with me and watch them anywhere. If you buy one video app, it should be this one!If I could ask for one feature it would be to support the stock Apple earbuds that have the pause/play buttons on them. I press those buttons out of habit sometimes and all of a sudden my iPod music starts playing instead of pausing my video. Volume buttons on the earbuds work perfectly though. Get this app!

***Home Screen Worthy***Luvin' this app peeps, it's workin' every time I slip a title in there, no lag, good sound all around...not certain why some peeps are having problems, but I guess that's one of the useful reasons for reviews, to provide the devs w/an accurate step/step chain of events, so that they can address & resolve the issues (not to post things like "do not buy"...that generic post has become extremely annoying to read)...anyhoo...for myself, this is a solid performing app & quite a little gem, it's the first & only app to make it onto my home screen next to Apple apps...

This app helps me get over the one big handicap with Apple products... playing avi files. I still can't believe I can natively play avi files on my iPad now. Awesome!Although I should have given only 4 stars since it did not play the first couple of files i loaded, It did play the next 3 i loaded from my avi movies collection. This is a great start, hope to see support for more formats. Some kudos to Apple for atleast allowing this app in the store!

Having the choice of type for the iPad is great idea as everyone has their favourite. I like the way the front page has the listing of the movies stored which is easier to view than the iPad standard viewer.Like most that have written a review, i am surprised that the app is free and would of been happy to pay for it.It's simple to use and doesn't need to have extras placed on it as play, pause, rewind and last played is all a player needs.

I'm just going to come out and say it. This is THE killer app for the iPad (to me). I've been using Air Video Server (another excellent app) to stream files at home, but have yearned for the ability to take my (avi) media with me. I tried out two other divx players, but found them lacking in stability, playback speed, synching, and general video quality. The CineXPlayer App, in contrast, has none of these issues. It plays perfectly and allows for smooth seeking.Suggestions:- folders- subtitle support- manual synch offset- custom skins- playlists- more zoom optionsOtherwise, it's perfect, exactly what I need. Thank you for an incredible App.

This is the best video player for iPad and iPhone. It saves time and space in converting avi files to iTunes format. With cinexplayer I do not have to add the video file to iTunes and then remembering to delete it from my itunes after watching it on iPad. This is important to me as I have limited disk space on my Mac air. Please add wireless transfer of file for those occasions where one forgets to bring along the USB cable.

FAO DEVAD and other having issues with AVI

AVI is simply a wrapper that brings the video (could be mp4 or xvid) and the audio (MP3 or AAC) together. The app may not be able to play every format of video. Unfortunately I haven't got my ipad yet (waiting on delivery) So I am not reviewing the app. Not that anyone is but if you are having problems playing certain files, check the encode format it is in.Until properly received a 5 star review for finally allowing AVI's on an i portable device.

In limited testing, playback was smooth and playback quality was quite nice. The mention of known lack of support for AC3 and .mkv is promising as it suggests it will be supported in future updates. Developer in video is insanely cute. Music playing while in the title menu is maybe a bit distracting. Looking forward to updates, and truly hope that Apple will continue authorizing a program that can offer such cross-compatibility.
