Wonderful app - replaces Convertbot

Way easier to use than Convertbot - no unnecessary start up screen or useless gimmicks, the number pad resembles the iPhone caculator and is always present on the lower half of the screen.
Convert has a beautiful magnifying effect when turning the selection wheel, there is a calculator and C'n'P - very important!
Its UI is fast and intuitive, easily jump through favorite units by pressing the star button - unit description is too small though, please refine.
The Convert icon is one of the most beautiful icons I have seen on the iPhone! Many kudos!

Yo... You guys forgot a major currency... Guatemala Quetzals!!!!! please add this on the next update... Yo... it has alot of measurments but everytime i try to look for what i want i have to scroll threw ALOT...!!! Yeah... You know what would be a good idea? Letting us delete the currencys and measurments we dont need!!! Like in 9-Toolbox... If we want it back we just go look it up and download it again.... Yeah... And letting us download the measurements and currencys we do want...!!! Im sure if you added these ideas your app would be better then it already is!!!!

My review might not be all that helpful if you're looking for someone to elaborate on how efficient this application is. That crap would take to long to type on this I-touch. But I will say that this app. is freakin badass and will save anyone who needs anything that can be measured converted a lot of time. I just got it for simple crap like converting speed and weight, but once I finished the download was pleasently surprised to see all kind of different things to convert like cash, speed distance and all other kind of stuff, not to mention it has a caculator where you can caculate the stuff right in the middle of converting it. You can do anything in this app. from seeing how many pennies a cup of milk will cost you, to calculating how long it will take you to drive your mustang to the moon. This thing even converts light speed. And all for $0.99. I can't believe I typed all this :) must really be cool

A Useful App

This application has been a great tool for my chemistry class. Whenever I don't remember a conversion or I want to learn a conversion all I have to do is open this application. I also like that it has an added calculator as well, so I don't have to get out and go into the calculator app. I don't have to look or have two calculators out. The conversions are accurate. It is a good app to have if you need to convert something.

This really is such a beautiful app, makes it a pleasure to use.You can even perform calculations within the "converting entry field".Could do with mmHg, kPa and hPa in pressure converting and there are some minor glitches in tagging favourite categories, but these are minor & easily fixed in an update. Overall, it is so simple to navigate and totally intuitive...the way an iPhone app should be.Yea there are free converters out there which I have tried, but this is well worth the investment of a few $. The fact that you get large # buttons is very handy too.

You can easily go from category to category and get results.I recommend this for the nice mix of attractiveness and usefullness. If you do not find the units you want, then 15 tool(.99) and myConvert(free) have a lot of units to choose from. David.--------Update 10 16 09Consider implementing favorites - individual unit pairs, and having a "wheel" with favorites only.Truth is fact that I have to sift through maze of units everytime is not efficient.

These guys understand that we're the "Usability Generation", user interface is key for success from here on out, Apple and developers like this are proving that. This team should go work for Microsoft and they might be able to turn them around.
This is an amazing app, but I would suggest that they show all the conversion values in small text rather than just the conversions you have selected. For example, if you are converting from Meters to Feet, it would be nice if you can see the conversion values in the other fields too in small text in the background, like inches, miles, etc.

UI makes or breaks an iPhone app.

I've hated the UI for every single unit converter I've tried. All the rest are ugly, awkward, or require far too many taps just to do a single conversion. Convert is the delicious exception! Tap tap tap has shown that apps that perform even tasks as simple as unit conversion benefit enormously from careful consideration of their user interface. There is no better unit converter for iPhone than Convert. And $0.99 is a crazy fair price to pay!

How bout Warp Speed and Mock

Glad to see this app has even a conversion for AU's (astronomical units). Now if I forget the Earth is 93 million miles from the sun (average) I can type in 1AU and be reminded. Where is warp speed and mock? Zephram Cochran, the first man to ever travel faster than the speed of light, would be outraged that warp speed is not included. Whoever the first guy was to break the sound barrier would also be upset. Very good app with lots of possibilities but put warp speed on the next update.

The other reviewers are right. This is BY FAR the best converting app. I used to use ConvertBot, and could never figure out what button I was supposed to press next to make it work. This app is extremely intuitive. Furthermore, you don't need to remember what the category 'icons' mean, as when you go to swap categories, the unit/calculate area nicely fades out and give you the category names to choose from. When you have the desired category, just release, and the calculations screen nicely fades back in, ready to type in your numbers. The only thing missins is the ability to not show units you don't want, but it's so good anyway it still gets 5 stars.

I had Convertbot and thought it was the bees knees. But Convert is a level above that again. Its UI is what all the other converter apps fail to achieve - simplicity of choosing units and amount, good looks and totally functional. And speed in being able to move from one unit to the other. The only thing lacking is a way of hiding units that you're never going to use. I totally recommend this as the very best converter for the iPhone.

When I first saw the "spinning wheel" interface for units selection I thought I would NOT like it. After I began using it I fell in love with it! This is now my Calculator of choice! It resides on my page one homescreen. The basic calculator functions are vital to the way I use it. I have already recommended it to some friends and I know some have purchased it. One unit request for velocity. Please add meters per minute. Thanks for a great app. Keep up the good work.

Main reason for getting this app was to point out to previous reviewer, kApple12, that this apps data is correct. You entered your figures incorectly. 5.11 feet is not as long as 5 feet 11 inches. You should have typed 5.9 feet or entered 71 inches. 5.11 feet, or 61 inches, is 1.55 meters and 5.9 feet, or 71 inches, is the 1.8 meters you were expecting. Now that i had the chance to try out the app, i do like it and i think it will be my primary conversion app because it is very smooth and quick to load and opperate. Thanks.

Very convenient user interface makes it fast to find conversions. The ability to repeatedly key in numbers quickly makes it very useful for real world conversions. With Japan being the second largest economy in the world, and therefore having many non-Japanese doing business there, it would be great to have conversions from tsubo and jo to meters and feet. It would also be very useful to convert Japanese dates as most Japanese documents (such as bank books) use the Japanese system.

Developer of this app: I hate you! I hate you for coming up with what is the best GUI of all apps! Why is it the best? Because it is simply beautiful and user friendly. Just when I finished training my monkey to use some of the apps, you come up with this. Now, I have no need to train my monkey anymore, because he can use it without any knowledge! Thanks a lot! Developer, please do not come up with any better apps than this. I have high hopes that, I TOO, could aspire to only be as good as you; so don't shatter my dreams by making apps that are impossible to top!
