Cat whistle!!!

I usually don't write reviews, but I was amazed when my cat responded to this whistle! I don't have a dog, but I decided to download it and try it out anyway. Immediately after downloading, I opened the app and touched the whistle. My cat looked at me and meowed. Just to be sure that it was the whistle, I tried it again, and the same thing happened! It seemed to annoy her, so I might not use it too often. But it works as described, and it's free! Five stars in my book!

If you know anything about dogs whistles, you know that there's no point to them until you train your dog to react to it. Just as another person said, there's no genetic, in-bred response to a whistle, you have to teach the dog "when I play this noise, you do this". Until you do that, no, most dogs will not respond to it. Just like how if you heard a whistle, you wouldn't think "I should do a flip!". You'd think "That noise is annoying. Whatever." People, before you give a poor review, please think first.

I thought this was a crock of bull at first. Eventually I figured out I was using this App wrong. When I tested it on my dog again he slowly walked from me giving me looks of anguish so I stopped. Then all of a sudden he started having involuntary convulisons and threw up all over the place. I feel bad now. Yes this app works to well thats a problem for me. I'm deleting it because it works to well.

You do have to scan the frequencies for the individual breed of dog and/or individual dog, nothing is foolproof and dogs are smarter than most of us. My three dogs all closing in on six years old and they are incorrigible. I used it on the most sensitive dog, he responded immediately, his brother flipped me off basically and kept chomping his treat. I live in a suburban area so of course there are other dogs around. This evening they started in with the barking with the hood dogs and I changed the level to where I couldn’t hear it, not 1 minute later they were calm and listening, even when the barking from the others started up again, I said hey now, do you want the whistle again? Apparently they were less interested in the barking than they were listening to me for once in their lives. They are all asleep as I type this and that was less than 20 minutes ago. I give it two thumbs up!!!

People, your dog is not going to do a magic trick just because you blow a dog whistle. You have to train him/her what the whistle sound means first, otherwise it's just a noise. Dogs don't have a genetic response to dog whistles, you have to teach them that it is a command. That being said, all speakers have a limit to their dynamic range and I doubt the iPhone speakers are optimal for high pitch frequncies beyond the normal hearing range. It's probably not nearly as loud to dogs as a real whistle.

Even though it only work on maybe 2 out of every 5 dogs I've tried it on, it's still fun to have cause I can't hear it. I just set it to a frequency that I know is super annoying to everybody (12000) and let it blast and laugh while they look around in confusion or cover their ears. By the way, the very highest frequency might not be working. Nothing responds to it. No dogs, no people. My brother says that it makes a Clicking sound when he holds it up to his ear.

Well... To tell the truth i've never had a dog, or plan to get one anytime soon. Therefore, i've never had a dog whistle of any kind and I wanted to try this app... So I turned up the volume all the way on my Ipod Touch 1rst Gen and let the whistle blow. IT IS AS ANNOYING AS CAN BE!!!!! The Perfect App for annoying your friends. Its great to bring into a small room and just let it blow while everyone covers their ears in confusion! 5 stars definantly!

Who ever wrote the review with the total loser, go and take a nice quite walk and plz think about ur life. I am in 10th grade and I'm not fat at all. Also u can not say who deserves a iPod or not .....jw how old are u because u sound like one of those "4th graders that don't deserve a iPod"........what harm is their in downloading this app, if u don't like it then u can delete it. It's free so it's a win win situation.

Hello person's who review title is 'Losers' when u give your 'advise' to a kid (me) not all of us are 4th graders and you should also teach us how to spell advice the correct way! I am very offended that you would say we don't deserve this itouch AND that you would say that just because we own 1 means that we are fat and lazy and that we don't have sports to do! And by the way... I have many sports to do and I am very fit for my age and anyway... I'M A SIXTH GRADER!!!

This app does work it worked on my dog he just got really irrateted from 18000-22000 Even if it dosent work on your dog, cat, fish or hamster try testing how good your hearing I tryed it and it's quite amazing how peoples hearing is accurate and rubbish Here's what I found • My dog didn't like it • I can hear up to 22000and I'm 18 it's sounds like the aftermath of some nonce hitting you in the ear • my dad could only hear up to 10000 and he's 47 • My sister could only hear up to 14000 and she's younger Fun app just test it out oh and see how many of your friends and friends pets you can annoy 5 stars

Do us all a favor and stop complaining and writing senseless reviews. People like me read these reviews and hope to get honest opinions about the performance of an app, even the free ones. Yes, free, you paid absolutely nothing for this app and you still complain. If you didn't like the app after downloading and trying it, then you realize you have the option of deleting it. Right? Let's be polite, just delete it if you don't like it and give it the amount of stars you think it's worth. Also, let's stop with the "WT*". You know what I mean. If you all can write better apps, then go and buy the SDK yourself, then we can all talk crap about your app.

Are you lot that mentally retarded you honestly post saying the app isnt a dog whistle?? Do you even know what a dog whistle is? Its a high pitched noise that we can hardly hear but dogs can. And if your dog cant hear it, your dogs either def or ignorant. Not only does this app produce high frequecies, it gives you the ability to choose from a very large variety of frequencies. This app is great. Stop putting this app down and lowering its score

For all those out there who call this a bad app b-cause your dog doesn't respond...Then your are mistaking a perfectly good app for your dog. The whole point of this app is to annoy your friends at different hz. Do you honestly think that someone would make an app on a device intended for humans, for dogs? B4 you critisize a app think cause you all sound like a bunch of retards. Imagine telling your friends to some cool music, put the earplugs in, and blast 17k hz in their ears. Endless possibilities none intended for dogs : /

It took a few minutes to figure out how to set the different whistles to different frequencys but I figured it out. Great app! My girl friends cats respond to it, I havnt tried it on the dog yet. If you hold down the whistle with one finger, and hit a pre-set frequency with another finger, you can move the frequency adjuster bar as you please while it still makes sound! It sounds like old DOS game sounds! I would pay for this app, it's amazing.

You have to train your dog to respond to the sound of the whistle! For those of you who gave this app a bad review, go buy a dog training book and erase the stereotypical cartoon image of the dog whistle from your mind. I've grown quite sick of the constant bad reviews written by morons without any idea of how to train their dogs for this. As a quick tip, pick a frequency and play it everytime you call your dog, ( it has to be the same frequency everytime!) if you do it all or at least most of the time your dog will associate that frequency with the command and they'll come to you when you play that frequency. Even when you don't say anything! It's basic animal behavior people!

This app is awesome! Beats out the sound grenade bar-none. The frequency adjustment is awesome, and allows you to tailor the sound to effect human ears at a relatively low frequency (great for harassing classmates), or at a frequency beyond human hearing for your canine companion. My Lhasa-apso followed me around for a good 10 minutes with this app alone before getting distracted and wandering off. 6/5!

Wow there are soo many STUPID people who think dogs are programmed like a televison and remote! You don't press the button and have the dog come! You use this to train your animal! Your dog is not a computer! You should stop leaving bad reviews, it is not the app's, your dog's, or the designers fault you are to stupid to reconignise a tool for what it is. Why don't you think about this next time you randomly leave negative comments on something you don't even have the inteligence to comprehend! Do you think you could write an entire program in javascript? I know that fully apreeciate the time and effort that goes into a program, only to have idiots ruining the app developers rep! Your dogs are probably smarter than you! I know that all of those who can truly love this app for what it really is are clearly more intelligent than those who leave such bad reviews for something free.

I read the reviews... which had me wondering If it was worth the time to download. But, I did it anyway. Once downloaded... I pressed the whistle and heard nothing. My lab just looked at me and shook her head. I thought, "what a joke"... but that's when my boy said, What's that noise?" I'm thinking "What noise?" so I pressed it again. Same thing... he heard it and I didn't. Then, when the rest of the family got home I did it again. This time my wife andkids were in the other part of the house and one was even down stairs. Everyone yelled, "What's that noise?" it blows me away that they all hear something and I can't... unless I turn the frequency way down. I'm glad I downloaded the app.. and it does work. I think they should call itva wife and kid whistle though.

As much as I hate voicing my opinion on morons, I feel the need. Some dogs don't respond to dog whistles. Go to a dog park and you'll see that it does work. I guess, don't use it too long or you might risk your speakers. I don't hold it down for minutes at a time, so my speakers are fine. It's also a great hearing test and there is a correlation between ones ability to hear high pitch noises and their overall hearing ability.

The unique thing about this app is that is based on age and species. The Extremely high frequency can only be heard by non-humans and children(3-17). For adults to hear this, it must be on a lower setting, most likely under 8000. Once i activated it, and only my sister, myself and my little cousin were able to hear it, leaving everybody else in the family over 25 baffled, since they couldn't hear it. Even somebody in my English class started to use it, and the teacher couldn't hear it, so even if we had told on him, the teacher wouldn't have been able to do anything, since they couldn't hear it!
