Global.AQ Pro 2.0 is a text messaging (SMS) application which allows you to securely exchange messages from your iPodTouch or iPhone with mobile phones around the globle or another Global.AQ user. MESSAGES BETWEEN GLOBAL.AQ USERS ARE ALWAYS FREE.
Works on almost every networks around the world. If it doesn't on yours, let us know (support@global.aq) and we make sure it will.
You can receive any SMS from selected mobile operators to your global.AQ (+882347xx xx xx) number as well (if the sending operator supports Global Networks Antarctica as SMS destination. ASK THEM). Messages sent to a global.AQ number will appear in the application as push message.

This is definately one of the best apps available in the AppStore. It's been couple of days Im using it I didnt face any problem what so ever. I am not sure how many country it supports but I tested on few UK networks and it works perfectly. The only negative point I can think of is you have to type "+ 44(country code)" everytime you want to send a text. I hope they fix this on the next update. At least the "+" since it is needed for all countries.

This is the first time I'm text rating an app because I noticed so many people rating it on the basis of them not being able to make the app work.
May I ask them: have you put the "+ <country code>" prefix before your recipient's number? This is how I successfully SMS my friends using this app.
I wish in the next version though, there'll be a means for the recipient to reply to me-via email or SMS as well.
For the price, this had got to be one of the most useful apps out there.
I wonder though if the company is really based in Antarctica? The .aq suffix is supposed to indicate that. I hope they're not bogus tho!

Hi! I put 5 stars, cuz it's the best technically application for texting I've seen b4. It does all the work for you - no need to choose operator and worldwide operators support.
BUT! You have to work on design, that's the main problem. I can help you with it if you need. Or just look on the native iPhone SMS application.
The other thing is that it'd be good to add more features (groups, sender number and so on) to make it like native Messages.ipa

I was sick and tired of seeing all these other working "free sms" apps being only avaliable to god damn US numbers and i was so glad to finally find an app that provided these services to other more significant countries. At first the app looked dodgy and never worked for me so I immediately deleted it. After reading all the reviews that it's been working for most people I thought I'd give it another shot especially since they released an update. I sent an SMS to myself and recieved the message instantly. Since then every message I've sent has worked and I'm so glad I got this app when it was free. All it needs now is the ability to receive messages and push notifications to become the best free SMS app avaliable in the app store.

Just to confirm that this definitely works in Australia.
If you have any problems just email support and they will send you a small test to carry out to determine the best route. (fixed my issues)
