I've used the lite version to make sure it did work with my Linksys WVC54GCA ip camera and setting it up was very easy. Support was more than great with a fast response time. I have used other camera apps and this is the best one of all. Great job with this amazing app Barry. I would say 10 thumbs up but I only have two so two thumbs up. :-)
Your prompt response is really appreciated. Just now I have bought the full version of your app. I just want to make a suggestion for a future update. I know me and most users of your app will appreciate if the app could be setup to not just refresh manually but also to set it to refresh the camera images automatically; and various intervals like refresh camera images 4 times per second, once per second, once every 3 seconds and so on. It would also be great to be able to see thumbnail camera images of all your private cameras at one time and also be able to refresh them all every 5 seconds or so. May be even set the camera image refresh interval individual per camera to both the thumbnail and the full view. This will make your app perfect and untouched by any other.

This app works GREAT with our local webcams (Canon brand). I tried it with a few other Canon Webcams from http://webcams.gajda.cz/ and it also worked with those.
I'd love to see the app extended to Canon camera control like the Webview Livescope PC application: http://www.usa.canon.com/app/html/X-Zone/xzone/faq.html.
I tried the controls on some of the Axis cameras listed in the app, and the controls worked great. This would be a $10.00 app if it could mimic Webview Livescope and control Canon cameras!

This is a really cool app, I can't believe that I can control a camera that is halfway around the world, while sitting on my couch, using my iPhone! The streaming videos are good quality, although some cameras lag a little bit. One review stated that there are few cameras... I wonder if they knew to scroll over (in every category) because they would realize that there is a lot more. I've been able to zoom up on peoples' faces...I feel guilty about it...I just can't help myself.

The app does everything it says it will. The amount/variety of cameras was a pleasant surprise for me. What the people complaining need to realize is that some cameras are unavailable at time due to the sheer mass of people using the app at one time. Also, you can only control the camera when someone else isn't, and some cameras just might not have the capability to move... They could just be stationary cameras. Love it, extremely interesting & entertaining. Well worth the money.

Okay all of you noobs! Listen up! You guys know nothing of the products technology. Remote camera control is possible, and I have logged into a cam while someone was was controlling it. You can even add your own camera list to prove it! The app owner doesn't actually own these cameras. They are already available online. He just potted them to the iPhone. The server decides who gets to use the controls next. often it will make you wait in line, or kick the other guy off. This app is super cool!!!

The interface update is amazing, not to mention the added cameras. Thanks for the favorites option! After doing a little research, I was able to add a few cameras I had found on the Internet, giving more fun to this app. Many camera choices and ability to control them leads to tons of fun. A must have. To Barry: 1. I've noticed that in the help section, when you click on one of the topics, there is no back button, so you have to exit out of the help and go back in to click on a different link. Not a major problem, just thought I'd let you know. 2. I would love more aquarium webcams! They are by far my favorite! Great job and keep it up!

Great app! I'll gladly add the fifth star if that creepy icon is replaced.
A previous reviewer complained that some cameras are slow; that person obviously doesn't understand how the interwebs work. If a camera has a lower bandwidth connection then guess what? That's right, the camera will be slow. And there's nothing the maker of this app can do.
Update: Added the fifth star for the changing of the icon. Really great app.

I've been using this app for a pretty long time, and I'm very pleased with the latest version. I don't use the public camera list very much, but I use the private camera section very frequently. I have a pretty old IP camera that I've mounted in my kitchen that, when used in conjunction with this app, makes a great solution to keep an eye on what's going on in my house when I'm gone.
As for the negative reviews go, I guess people who don't understand how an app works will always give poor reviews. This app only points to a camera stream; if the owner of the stream is looping archived footage, the app can't responsible. Yes, the user can really control the pan-and-zoom of certain cameras when it's supported. When you click on the "Control" button, you get placed in the control queue. When it's your turn, you can move it around until your turn is over.
For quicky monitoring a private camera, I am completely satisfied.

This app is perfect for anyone who has their own ptz ip cameras. I use canon network cams (6 of them) and the setup for adding my cams was simple, with this app I can pan tilt or zoom any one of my cameras from wherever I am. My suggestion for improvement is one 'control of camera' is active be able to pan and tilt by touching the image and zoom using the iPhone touch screen zoom with index finger and thumb. Well worth the cost if you have ip cameras.

There not recordings! I am proof that it's live! I went to Huntington Beach the other day and while on the pier I opened up the app and I saw my self live!!! Awesome app. People that are complaining that it's slow, be real! Your not going to get 1080i at high speed or anything from a video camera on the other side of the world! Great app, keep up the good work. Work on adding some new cams and maybe some new features like sound maybe? Thanks!

Reading the reviews I thought the program might have been a game. I WILL TELL YOU, IT IS NOT! This program is exactly what it says it is. It allows you to view web cams from all over the world and if you wanted from your own home. Best program I ever payed for! I found local web cams and typed their address into the program, now I can check what the weather is like any time I am on vacation! You can even connect your cam-corder or camera to your computer install a program and watch your home, pet, etc... while you are away. Sooo many possibilities for this program!

Update 2: Wow, what an update! PTZ now works flawlessly over WiFi, the user interface is much more intuitive, navigation is effortless, cameras load and refresh smoothly and several other changes make Live Cams the (damn near perfect) best camera viewing app available in the App Store - I can tell you from experience with other popular cam apps that just pale in comparison. Seriously, amazing work Mr. Egerter. This app's value is well worth more than a mere $0.99. Can't wait to see what's next ----------------------------------------------- Update: I added another star because at least the developer TRIES to fix the bugs in his app, unlike other developers. The TrendNet IP400 still does not support PTZ and still drops the connection when viewing through WiFi. For instance, when viewing thumbnails through WiFi, screen shows up fine - until you tap it to go fullscreen and are then presented with a "connection lost" error. So much potential in this app, but it just doesn't work properly ------------------------------------------------Old review:I purchased this app solely because it said it supports PTZ. I have a TrendNet IP400 and even though during the camera setup it says it supports it, it clearly does not. What a waste. It's no better than Mobiscope and their PTZ claims. ALSO, what's even worse is that when you are in thumbnail view you can clearly see the camera, once I touch it to open it full view, it says "lost connection." Meanwhile I'll switch to Mobiscope and I can view my camera fine, so clearly it's LiveCams app that is faulty. Very dissatisfied. Wish I could get a refund. Yes, cams around the world work, but mine does not under Live Cams, even though it runs fine on Mobiscope 

This is a great PTZ camera app. I can watch my camera live straming from anywhere and I can control it too! I bought a cheaper Trendnet camera, and at first it was only viewable, but with the more recent updates I can now control the PTZ functions. This shows that the developer is still working on updates and adding new cameras and features, so this app is a must for anyone who has PTZ cameras. Also, it has a ton of public cameras that you can watch and control as well, which is a great time-killer. Don't listen to negative reviews, this app does everything it says... 3GS

This is a seriously useful utility and lots of fun too - a great app! Thanks for the upgrade - I was eagerly awaiting it because I have a Panasonic IP camera. The upgrade allows me to control my camera and monitor my home from anywhere. I have had a couple "crashes" since upgrading but they are only a minor annoyance. This app is IMHO nothing short of amazing! Please keep up the good work. Thanks.

Get update!!! Love the new cameras!!! Only problem that I see is that with my panasonic cameras tend to act alittle weird witht the PTZ function. For example, slow moving (sometimes no moving at all), slow frame rate, and sometimes the presets are avalible and sometimes they are not... On wifi and 3g. Once some of the bugs are fix this app will be perfect! This app deserves a much higher rating than what people are giving it.

해외여행을 자유롭게 못다니니까 아름다운 여러 나라의 풍경, 유적지, 예쁜 프랑스 마을의 길거리, 카페, 공원 등등의 모습을 실시간 동영상으로 볼 수 있는 어플이 나오면 얼마나 좋을까 꿈 꿨었는데 이런 어플이 정말 나오다니 꿈만 같네요^^ 아직 개선의 여지가 있지만 cctv의 화질이라고 해도 특히 바닷가 같은거 보고 있으면 넘 좋네요^^ 단순히 사진이나 이미 찍어둔 영상을 보는 것과는 차원이 다른 느낌이에요. 왜냐하면 실시간 바로 이 시간의 모습을 보여주니까요^^ 방에 가만히 앉아서 현재 이 시간의 다른 나라 모습들을 보니까 신기하기도 하고 너무 좋습니다 ㅠㅠ 에펠탑의 야경도 넘 이쁘네요^^ 화질도 cctv화질이고, 소리도 안들리지만.. 그저 실시간으로 에펠탑을 볼 수 있다는 것만으로도 행복합니다.

I use this to watch the webcams at my home and my beach house in the TCI, and it works great! Network links from foreign countries can be slow, and 3G data crawls most of the time, but WiFi watching LAN cameras is plenty fast. Not sure what all the whining is about, a buck for an app that let's you see what's happening on the other side of the world, and that's actively being improved os a pretty good deal IMHO.

This app is lots of fun. The developer has already linked to many, many webcams all across the world. It's amazing to have so many options of live video sources all in one place. Additionally, you have the option to connect to specific webcams if you know the IP address and password. I was able to program in my two personal webcams with ease. This app works great on WiFi and 3G. It's well worth the full asking price.
