This latest update makes it perfect for this traveler. Doesn't do a lot, which in this case is great, because what it does do, it does perfectly and beautifully. Looks great on my iPad and one of the first apps I love to show friends. And seeing our Earth without political boundaries, set against a vast sea of blackness, can only remind us how fragile it... and we.... really are. Spend a buck, you'll be happy you did!

I simply <3 this app!It is so beautiful and has great detail from the Earth to the time and weather. It is a real show piece for a time display and clock on your dock for iPhone & iPad (THANK YOU FOR MAKING IT UNIVERSAL and not having to buy separate for each device!) I wish you could add an auto rotate of the Earth with spin speed option. I know it defeats the purpose of real-time display, but the static Earch and slow rotation can get sort of boring. Like maybe make it auto rotate after a few seconds and an option to set the rotation speed. NOT a deal breaker but a nice option to have for display purpose.THIS IS NOW MY DEFAULT CLOCK APP

I've had 'Weather Planet' for a couple months which aims to do the same as this. Living Earth HD is much crisper looking, has a nice integration of the blue rim of the atmosphere, includes the lit up population centers in the night sky, and has a smoother UI and so; has a much stronger 'Wow' factor. There are 2 areas where Weather Planet is more to the point of showing the weather the clouds are not diffused like with Living Earth so weather systems are more defined at the expense of covering up the geography below. Secondly; Weather Planet has an option to brighten the dark side of earth to see those weather systems even when your region is at dusk or dawn. I expect to use Living Earth more just for the wow factor. But if your strictly interested in the live weather patterns and don't care for the pretty marble effect; you may just prefer Weather Planet.

1) Please add a quick way to switch between cities without having to scroll through them all. Something like a menu with the cities as in the apple's world clock. I use it to check the time at many cities I have to call at to see if their offices are open before calling so my list is pretty large. I also use it to check their weather when I go visit them. 2) Please add a button to turn off the night shadow momentarily to see the location of the city in the continent.

I bought this app a couple of days ago and it really is a beauty. The quality of the image is stunning and the ability to see the entire earth as if from space, current cloud patterns and all, makes it a fascinating and spectacular app. The thought that the cloud data is coming from satellites is pretty amazing. To get details on current weather conditions and forecasts makes it all the more useful. It sure does what it says it will do. I've never written a review of an app before - but then again, I've never appreciated one this much. I hope the developer keeps on creating superior products like this one!

For the price of this app you get an amazing World Clock app for both iPhone and iPad. This is probably one of the best values in the store right now. The visuals are amazing and it's truly humbling to feel like you're holding our precious planet in your hand. This is must get especially on an iphone4! Sure the weather features are basic, but it's more of a nightstand, desktop clock app than a serious meteorological tool. Enjoy it for what it is! Props to the developer.

Update: I sent the developer an email and he replied promptly answering all of my questions and thanking me for my suggestions. This was really aprpeciated as many app-developers don't reply. He gave logical and factual reasons as to why the zoom is limited in quality but also said he was working on finding various solutions.Five stars for both the app and the dev. Brilliant work.- - - To begin with I must reiterate that this app is a beauty. I live in England so the weather is very temperamental; yesterday I woke up and it was beautiful sunshine with clear skies and today at 08:30am I wake up and it's pouring it down. Yesterday I open this app and see England. Now I open it up and see cloud formations covering it. It's really quite interesting and you do keep re-opening the app to check what the world looks like.Now, with that said I just want to address the problem of the zoom. This isn't Google Earth and never claimed to be. People who rate it down or not being able to zoom in far are being rather unfair on the developer, he never claimed that you would be able to and it seemed obvious to me that it wouldn't be a feature, nor a possible future update.I am happy with the current zoom. It's just right and blows things up to a size I like. However, the quality isn't up to scratch. It's a digital zoom of the normal size and is pixelated. As I said, I'm not expecting Google Earth, just a larger resolution render of the zoom you offer. It's possible and hope it will be rectified in a future update.That really is the only fault I have, if you like the look of what's offered and see the appeal in having it, then buy it. 59p for this app left me with no regrets. Had I paid the full price and seen the lack of quality for the zoom that was offered, I may have been more miffed. If that gets sorted though there's no reason to complain, it tells you what it is before you buy.Although the Google Earth app features zooming in to your hearts content and is thoroughly interesting, it never leaves me with the feeling of holding the world in my hands. This app does. It's rendering of the nighttime/daytime and cloud positions really make you feel as though you're rotating the very planet we call home, thats why I consider it beautiful.- - - - - -Possible future developments:It would be a lot of work but if you could incorporate it into the app I'm sure everyone would love it and it would probably drive sales through the roof.People who purchase this app are people who like the idea of seeing the Earth in all it's glory in their hands, myself included. I would _love_ to see an option for slow moving, randomly generated, cloud movement and formation. It's obviously not going to be accurate (as I said, it would be an option) but it really would boost the feeling of having a living world in your hands.The key point would be the speed. You really wouldn't want it to be fast (that would just lose all realism), just nice slow moving clouds swirling over time and dying out as new ones form. Something you could just stare at for a good few minutes.That really would be my dream addition.

Hiya. Just to add my two penith on this app. It's simply the best world time app on iTunes. And believe me. I have a lot of time apps. From simple ones all the way to Emerald Chronometer. Living Earth beats them all, hands down. An easy interface and the most beautiful rendering of earth herself on any app. Just needs one or two tweaks though. It needs a screen dimmer. And to rotate the earth at a slow speed is a little tricky. But that's the geek in me. That's it really. And to those out there who say they can't zoom in to see their street.YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO! IT'S NOT GOOGLE EARTH!!!!!!!This app rocks! I'm adding an extra five stars to my rating. P.S. The simplicity of the app is what makes it soo special. Keep it up!One more thing. Can people out there stop asking for extra zoom features on this app. It, for the second time is NOT Google Earth. You are missing the point of the app. The earth is there to be appreciated in all it's beauty. If you want to see what the weather is like then look out your window! Have a good day!

This app has a beautiful and yet simplistic interface and delivers wonderful images and accurate weather information....including temperatures, wind speeds, humidity levels and forecasts for coming days and local times for each place!! People are correct when they say the zoom could be much closer but it's still a work in progress like any great app! Had I known how good this app was prior to downloading it, I'd have paid more for it!!! Great stuff and the creator welcomes feedback, as near perfect as I've seen on app store!

I love this app great graphics very cool looks good on retina display of iPod 4. One suggestion would you PLEASE add background music. Like relaxing music or something. And mayb also add more cities and also add soundeffects for like different weather. Rain and thunder for rainy days, birds singing on sunny days stuff like that. If u had that and background music this app would be so beast! Pls add. I usually don't right reviews unless the app is amazing but just needs a little something extra or it REALLY stinks. This one owns!! Get it now!!

I now use it on my home screen for weather info and I wish I could use it on my Lock Screen (but Apple won't allow that). I've been disappointed with all the other weather apps. Living Earth HD doesn't have that cartoonish look and poor performance other weather apps have and it performs perfectly. It's not cluttered with too much information but provides the weather info I need. It's nice to find an original well designed app. Highly recommended!

When I read a review that ridiculous and so far from being accurate it makes me laugh hysterically to the point of almost soiling myself. What kind of ignoramus dung pile trashes an app like this? You would seriously have to be lacking class. The developer probably should have added A fart or burp button to bring it down to their level. Can't please everyone. Open this app to someone you know and see the reaction on their face, it's priceless.

This app is really just beautiful. Great rotating Earth! Very nicely done graphics. Functional and very user friendly. Definitely recommend this app. You should have this if you want to show something really cool to your friends and of course if you want to know the weather. Tech support is also very responsive. I needed a couple of locations added and the developer responded immediately to add the locations. I would like to see more in this app, as far as more days of forecast and a weather map but I just like the look and feel and it is worth it right there. All I can say is get it you will not regret it. Great job, thanks for working on it! The price is also nice!

This is a beautiful app with accurate world weather and time. Today I used it to check the weather of my location, it says cloudy. One hour later, my friend telling me it started to rain a little bit, I checked this app immediately, and "wala", it says "Light Rain" on my location.It would be nice if it has some sound and music effect like Star Walk, nevertheless, this is pretty neat for just 99 cents.Edit: *One of the reviewer said it can't differentiate between weather from Santa Monica and Hollywood, that's BS! I don't know if that reviewer had edit the city list in the option menu yet, but I am currently checking Santa Monica, Hollywood, and Los Angeles, each has a unique temperature, and not the same!

I love this app, well worth the price! My niece and nephew went and picked out most of the major countries and their capitals. It was great to see them learning how the earth revolved and how that effected the time and daylight in the different countries all over the world. It was also good to see them memorizing what capitals went with which countries. Another benefit was for them to see the difference in population, and standards in different places all over the world by them observing how many lights were shining at night. However I would like to see the maps become more detailed so that individual cities could be seen clearly. So buy this app and help the developers out so they can spend a little more time and money working on this amazing app!

This is a great looking app with easy, intuitive interface. Apple should be embarrassed that THIS isn't their built-in weather app. This app just needs a few tweaks to make it insane. That way I could replace ALL my other weather apps.1) ability to add custom stations by zip code. I'd like my home town to stay on there. I can add it using My Location but lose it once I travel2) ability to change globe projection. I'd love to use Robinson projection so map appears as flattened strip with some wave of night and day areas3) ability to click on forecast day and get detailed forecast and radar, even if it just pops open website

I really like this on my iPhone 4 and am sure it looks superb on the iPad. The earth is displayed beautifully as it would look at the present moment.Although author states it is not a replacement of google earth, I would like it to zoom in just a little bit more. As living in the uk, even at maximum zoom the country appears quite small on my iPhone screen.One suggestion for improvement would be to see the cloud patterns change over time playing a sequence of the 3 hour shots together over the course if a day, for example.Keep up the good work. It's great value and I've been waiting for an app like this for some time. I look forward to future updates!

Just downloaded this on my 3GS. Took a fair while to install but it works well so far and looks fantastic! It basically gives the same info as the yahoo weather app that came with the phone, but in a much more awesome way. Think google earth with clouds and day/night cycles in real time. It'd be slightly better if it gave a more detailed forecast for today, and if you could zoom in more than a tiny amount, but I still love it despite its minor flaws. Why? Because it's very, very cool.

awesome interface though its not that accurate. its not live as it does take some time to update the earths movement. Im aware that it does take time to update the clouds but as for the progression of the day its not instant. takes about 30 minutes to update. apart from that love the date and time at the top and weather forecast at the bottom. able to zoom in and out which is awesome and can set favorite cities to view instantly. Overall Great App!!
