First and foremost I want to thanks the people who developed this app. This app has empowered me to know the crazy and sick people out there that lives close to me. With this knowledge I am more cautious than ever and have really taken steps to make sure no one in my family becomes a victim. Knowledge is power and you have given us the tool to protect ourselves and our family. I can't say thank you enough. I have recommended this app to all my friend and they downloaded this app and are glad they did. I know cops out there that also uses this tool. Don't be discourage by the negative review because there are plenty of people that are thankful for this app and maybe have saved people. Great job!!!!

As the title states, seriously? Guys this is rediculos. Everywhere I am seeing this 1 start rating and the "I've wastes my .99cents!" stuff. It is 99 cents! I bet you can find that much inbetween you couch and if not it is seriously not the end of the world like some are making it out to be. And as far as the "I want to protect myself and or children stuff" if you are seriously telling me that you trust this app enough with your familys security instead of a gov. Approved website completly devoted to this kibd if stuff then all I have to say is wow! Maybe I should give you a one star rating on common sense then? Sounds fair to me. And as others have said it is free! So you don't have to waste your money

Gave me a shock when I saw who they were. Also how near my area. My teens loved looking up their friends addresses with their friends. I was shocked again, when they said they have seen some of them before! Glad my kids & there friends said now we have an idea of who to stay away from! Which lead them into talking about how to be more safe. This is a must get app for parents! Well worth the money when it comes to the safety of kids!

I have to do some firing on Monday morning .I found 8 of my empl all over Chicago on this list and I was shocked .This most of hapened after they got hired(2-3years ) But they know they should have reported it/resigned after the charges were filled. I wil make sure to have HR do the dirty job .I do not want any complications -being a female.My company is sooo big they sure will apreciate this app to do a nationwide search.I tried the web myself but never got so many results and so accurate with mugshots .Thx a lot

Went to Michigan for the weekend, found this app, bought it, went to another neighborhood to check out a house my friend was going to live in, then I ran the app if there were going to be more child offenders near his new house, found over 50, I found one from the house just a half mile away so we all wanted to check out the offender's house for ourselves, we drove on the same street the offender lived on, but as we were almost there, the ACTUAL PERSON was walking on the side of the road!!!! It was the same person on the creepy picture I saw!!! I was like HOLY S**T!!! Don't listen to the 1 star commentors, they don't know what they're talking about. Oh and by the way I searched my area and found an offender picture that had my town's name hidden behind the guy's back....oh yeah this works alright. You have been warned... The photos work fine. I got all my junk still working, either you guys need new iPhones or you're retarded. Quit crying California users it's called reading the reviews first, it's not Apple's fault you're retarded, it's a dollar app & you own a itouch/iPhone. Give them back if you can't handle getting ripped off, you should have seen it coming after Californians have been crying bout it for weeks please please please get a life.

AWESOME APP OVERALL - This app, especially after the most recent update is quick (even on edge), functional & easy to use, slick design and geolocates you with ease. The app will locate the nearest offenders to either an address that you manually search or you can choose the option 'use your current location.' I enjoy the 'current location' option; however, I select this option mostly for curiosity and entertainment purposes.The only issue I have - the app will not allow you to select a 'range' from a desired address or current loation.If I am in an area outside the city, the app will locate offendors several miles and towns away. However, when in the city, the app only reaches approx. 0.6 miles from my 'current location.'A feature to select a 10, 15, 30..etc mile range would be a nice function to have - especially for individuals living in highly populated areas.

Great app for parents. Scary to find this many registered offenders so close to home. Even worse one of my children's former sports coach was listed as a local offender. Always had qualms about him as he was too insistant about giving her rides home from practice so that I would not have to stay. Also too many pats on the girls backs and those "shoulder hugs" Needless to say, but I always declined trusting my parental vibes. Sgt. Davis is right on target about offenders NOT registering. This man is listed as not only violent, BUT he did not register himself as an offender!!! My child was 13 when he coached her. Kids have instincts too. She thought he was too "weird" and touchy. She too, wisely disclined his offer of rides home. Point being listen to your parental vibes and listen to your kids when they talk!!!! You never know that they may be correct!!!!

Public notifications are only for tier 3 sex offenders, high threat.

Most people don't realize there are 3 different classifications for sex offenders. Tier 1, the guys who talked a judge into believing they're not a future threat, do not have their names or addresses listed even on the states official web site. Only with tier 3, high risk or high threat, will you get public notifications. Tiers 2 and 3 you will find listed. So there may be someone you know that is not listed because they are tier 1 and the state cannot release that info to the public.

Might think twice before u let ur kid out in your own neighborhood again. To the people bitching because of this app's existence: just because you're listed on here and don't feel like you deserve to be...too damn bad!! Complain as much as you want to! Please! It only proves the many reasons that applications such as this one are necessary and so extremely popular! If the sex offenders, who think thier crimes are not major enough to let others around them know of their guilt, were actually given that option, then there wouldn't be anyone registered!!! That's why BY LAW u gotta inform US, the 'non-sex-offenders,' of ur inhabitance and crime(s) so that we can take the essential precautions to safe-guard ourselves and our families. That's just the way it is! Cry to the NAACP, but don't spend money to D/L this app, find ur name, and then leave a bad review & 1 star, saying that anyone who buys this app will burn in hell for it. No, idiot, I think that'll be you!!

Is this app "Perfect"? NO - definitely not! I'm sure their database needs a bit of updating, but ... within just 2 minutes, I was able to locate 5 PERVERTS who live within 2 miles of my home. In my mind - this, alone - was worth the price of admission. I think that any parent not willing to spend such a small amount of money for an app that could offer so much "peace of mind" says volumes about their "parenting skills" and true concern for the well-being of their children. If you have children or just care about the general safety of children close to your heart - BUY THIS APP!

This is unbelievable! I'm a student and am very frugal when it comes to these App stuff! But, seriously! I thought that I lived in a peaceful neighborhood (East Side - the most affluent place in Providence) until I found out that there are 5 creepy sex offenders living less than a 0.5 mile away! And, boy, they look VERY creepy!! I'm sure these people have done more than sexual assault, so this is GREAT! I don't have kids, but i worry about myself! It's cheaper than a bar of Snickers, so PAY for it and you might be surprised; the sweet grandpa living down the street might have raped kids! So, it's a MUST-HAVE ! I wholeheartedly thank to the people who designed this app!

This is a great application for parents and for people like myself who just babysit small children often. It is great to know what houses to avoid, especially if you are in an area where you aren't familiar with your neighbors. Also, scotty whoever you are, sex offenders did not make a "small mistake". They are sick and I do not want them anywhere near my young family members. There is no worse crime than taking advantage of an innocent child.

One of the best apps available! The latest update (9/11/09) is exactly what this app needed. Thanks for listening to your customers! My previous review is below: "This is a great app! Easy to use. Although all the info and pictures can be found online for free (as it is all public information), it's really organized and has maps. My only complaint is that it doesn't use google maps. If the map were interactive vs just a snap shot I would give it 5 stars."

Not sure what everybody is complaining about but this app works just fine for me- I have tried it in Phoenix, AZ (where I live), Oregon, and the DC/Northern VA area and each time I have received in the inquiry a fairly long list of offenders along with their picture in most cases and a description (which will vary by state according to laws) of the act committed. Not once has the app crashed for me as so many others have. The only thing I couldn't say with certainty regarding this app is that while each list I built has many on it, I don't know if it missed some. All in all great app!

Many people keep saying that you can get this info for free online. But nobody ever does. Your not paying for the info. You're paying for the ease of getting the info. This is an amazing application that is truly beneficial to everybody. Your safety is primarily your own responsibility. This is such a great tool to facilitate with that. Thank you Thinair for such a cheap tool to insure the safety of myself and my family.

I can go ANYWHERE AND JUST type in the street name and the city and names would pop up.... And I know it's real people cause I remember looking at the site on my computer desktop and seen some of the same people!! It's crazy! But it's a great app to have, not to make fun of these people but it's for your safety... I've looked up my area and found that I new a few of them from school... It's really sad but yet GOOD to know... Thanks!

As a parent of a 7 yr old this was a no brainer. Very nice clean interface. Works perfect. Found an offender who lives in our subdivision and many others within a couple of miles, and we live in an upscale neighborhood. You just never know. Well now we do. Also check out their website where u can see their other products. The world needs to be a safer place and these guys are certainly doing their part. Kudos!

This is VERY INNOVATIVE, downloaded app today and within seconds I found ALL sex offenders within range of the homes we were looking at buying. This App is a GPS device that can give you actual details of the sex offenders at your current location, including offense and picture of offender. It could even be your next door neighbor... Very scary. My new home buying experience is a reality of what can be living around a corner. It is a comfort that made our decision very clear. I DEFINITELY recommend this to everyone whether you are just shopping for new home or own a home now. It protects your entire family,especially children to any dangers of sex offenders around you. You can feel safe about were you are at ANY given time.
A TWO THUMBS UP! It definitely gives you POS- Piece of Mind!
For the price of this app, it cannot be measured.

We downloaded the free app. only to find out our neighbor who lives no more than a few hundred feet of us is registered. We see him everyday and is always polite. I have no hard feelings against him, but at least now I know.
It is stated, " that anyone over the age of 18 years of age or older may request sexual offender information. The information will be provided to any person who is seeking protection of a CHILD under the age of 18 or for the protection of another person whom the requesting person has responsibility , care, or custody. "
This service is not for anyone to harass someone who is registered or endanger them. This service is to simply protect you and and your loved ones.
If there was a site where everyone who ever committed an illegal act has to register you would all jump for joy (admit it) because then when your car may get broken into, you know who to blame....so please stop looking at this tool as wrong or harassment. This is a service ONLY to help you protect your family and who to report if an unfortunate event such as m*********n, rape, or other lewd acts were to happen.
If you are sore about this because you or someone close to you is registered, they should have considered that before doing the crime. You can go online to multiple sites both paid, and free, and obtain the same information- billing name- crime as well as a local police department. So this App. is legal and if you would like to disagree, go ahead and file a complaint with the hundred's of other methods that are doing THE EXACT SAME THING.

Not sure why people are having problems with this app but it works fine for me and it's very accurate. I do have an issue with the map view though... there needs to be a way to zoom and pan across the map! Some areas have more hits but not all hits are viewable on the static map, even when you search by city instead of GPS location. It would also be a lot quicker if you used the internal map API instead of using the maps from Bing... this would also solve the lack of zoom/pan.  Overall a very decent app and I really wish people would stop complaining about .99 cent apps that provide "convenient" access to information that is generally free on the web. If it's free and you didn't want to spend .99 cents then why the hell did you download it in the first place???!!! Did you actually expect to receive 10 times the functionality of a .99 cent app that clearly stated what it does in the description?  Perhaps maybe to be surprised with live video feed inside the house of an offender? LOL seriously... grow up! Note: it's also not possible to receive "more" information on the crimes than what is publicly available online. You have to request a disposition at the court house where the trial was held by law. Sex offender laws are even more strict to prevent riots or vigilanti behavior :) only the location, type of crime, and the victim's age range are available (information that relates to the crime itself anyway).
