This is the first time I"ve written a review on something. Tonight I just purchased the app and started to play with it. I had issues setting up the custom feed, despite the nice demo on radio reference. So I sent an email to Police Radio with my concern. In less than 30 minutes I got a response, written by a human being who explained all I had to do to correct my problem AND - this is the best part - he/she actually gave me the information I needed...had to do with a feed URL thing. I'm impressed enough to write this tome. Thanks, now I can listen to my old firehouse in western MA

Not only is this app dirt cheap (at 99 cents), but it offers an extremely wide range of frequencies to listen in on right after installation. And the ability to add custom feeds is cool and easy to use for feeds you come across not already listed! I also want to say that I emailed Crushed Box Software about adding a feed, not really expecting any response at all. But within a couple hours I not only received a response, but they also assisted me in adding the feed I was looking for into the app! That kind of support is reason enough to give these guys your business! Keep up the great work Crushed Box, you've got one very happy customer here!

I love this application. I haven't stopped using it since I got it two days ago. I will agree that it dosen't get all the stations, and some say that they are unavailable. For the most part they are all available with no issues getting them even while driving and walking around town. For .99 you can't go wrong for simple entertainment. I love knowing what is going on around the highways near my work and in the area where I live. I can't stop praising this application, as a die hard fan of the TV show COPS this is way better!

Comparing Scanners Apps

I'm not quite sure why Scanner911 is in a better position than this one. I own both apps and keep finding this one more reliable and solid. I guess some people must like to record scanner chatter. Personally, I don't want my iPhone tied up recording something that's most often irrelevant.What's relevant to me is reliability and sound quality. I have better results with this app than the current leading app, that's all.Maybe it's just the channels I'm listening to, but that's all that matters to me!

Works exactly as described. I feel the three police radio applications here are all great, but this one, for less than a dollar, takes the top prize if only due to price. Every feed I have tried, at least so far, has worked. Could it be better? Of course. It still needs many more feeds. If the makers are reading this, please try to add more of the smaller cities in the Orlando area (Maitland PD, Casselberry PD, Winter Park PD, etc.). Add those, and a few others, and I would never turn it off. Seriously, for anyone wondering, it works just as described, and I have had no issues as of yet.

Was always a bit cautious of apps like these, bit like the CCTV/webcam apps out there. But this does indeed do a superb job at pulling in american police/fire department feeds. From what i heard from the huge list of locations (in the USA) it was crystal. To those who keep asking about a similar app for the UK, it just isn't possible. UK police, ambulance and soon fire are all using a digital comms system called TETRA. Which as you guessed can't be picked up by any radio scanner on the market. Americans still use the old analogue system that we've just moved over from onto digital. In all a superb app for American police and fire feeds. Don't ever expect UK locations to those thinking they'll be added with an update in the future. Blame technology and the British need for secrecy ;P

It works fine. Although it doesn't cover the area I live, it's prety interesting to hear what's happening in otherbaides of country. It works fine without lag at least for my iPhone. Please add Champaign Police Department in Illibois. It would be the best if you can add the Police Department of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I would like to hear what's happening around me. Thanks.

I have all five of the police scanner apps and trust me this one is hands down the very best it has great sound all the police codes easy to read police scanner is 2nd best and these others are trash so for 99 cents I would buy both beats spending a couple hundred for a real scanner the add your own feed Is the best part this is the only one that offers why wait for them go online and get the URL and listen away don't get caught breaking into a house without it lol

With this app, I have no need to persue my long time want of a scanner from radio shack. I Live in silver spring marlyand, so Montgomery county and DC feeds sound great. Better than the other police scanner I purchased. Only wish they had Prince George's county, and other public safety dept in my area. Even though last night I thought i heard gunfire and was embarrased later,(not going to get in depth with that) I called 911 and heard the police on their way to my apt complex from the time they were on their way till the final all clear, loud and clear on my iPhone.

Great app, works exactly as described in the ad. A breeze to install and listen to police radio. I am a newbie to this. So new that until this morning I didn't know this was even legal. Everyone saw it on Spiderman but I thought that was a special privilege to the friendly neighbourhood spidey. This is awesome. It feels like I'm experiencing something new, that I never imagined I could. Once you download the app go straight into the list of states Nf pick your county and fire/police. That's it, it takes a few seconds for the radio stream to load, and then you're suddenly listening to what all the cops an firemen in your neighbourhood or anywhere in the country are dealing with at that very moment!! Amazing...

I just bought the ipod touch and found this application. This is sweet!! I had found broadcasting awhile ago on a website called CB RADIO Live. You could transmit on a cb radio through a VOIP server and you could also listen to a scanner. This is by far much better as there are so many different states and cities you can listen to. I would appreciate if you could add my town Elk Grove Village, IL. That would be awesome! I recommend this application to anyone. This reminds me of the days when I used to have a scanner.
