Really works!  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps
By: GreenArchitect - Jan 25, 2009
Version: 1.1305
I love this app so much that I moved it into the front page on my iPhone. Before this one came out I purchased another app who promised state of the art technology and it never worked for me. Not once. I got this app out of desperation and it worked the very first time and just about every time since then. Everyone says Apple should have included this app in the original apps. My past phones were Motorolas and they had voice dialing features. Out of the last 4 Moto phones, only one worked well enough that I used the feature and it was not that last two versions. It actually got worse not better over the years. If Apple did not feel like they had an app that worked up to their standards its much better to let 3rd party apps give it a try. If they are going to adopt someone's technology I'd vote for these guys!
Get this app!!! It works, you can't beat the price and it will only get better!

Great Job Thank You  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps

Works great, you should work for Apple. Being an Engineer I would like to sugest two things: 1) Allow (if possible) selection of address book. It is using all. I like to pick work or home or favorites, etc. This would speed up search. 2)Find a way (if possible) to speed up startup. I would use it even if you can no make the above sugestions. I moved to my bottom tray so I can turn it on faster. Thank you again, Paul

Outstanding Product! Does Exactly as Advertised  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps

As a former Blackberry and Smartphone user, I was desperate to find an effective voice-dialing program for my iPhone 3G. I read the reviews in the App. Store and watched YouTube reviews of voice-dialing programs. After a lot of research, I installed this program. I am glad I did.
This is an excellent application for voice dialing. I have used it in the car, outside, and in the office. It is extremely accurate. The limitations of this program are primarily due to the hardware limitations placed on the iPhone, e.g., the iPhone does not permit BB headsets to dial with the push of the headset activation button. This requires you to handle the iPhone. Again, this is not the fault of the developer--this is a limitation of the iPhone setup.
This is an excellent product. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs reliable voice dialing. The price is right too! :-)

Finally an accurate voice dialer  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps

Fills a major iphone gap nicely. Easy to use and highly accurate. I'd pay for this but it's free! I've tried several other voice dialers ( voice dialer, voice this, voice dial) None of them worked well. Gave up on them all. Without training this app works flawlessly - bringing back excellent matches on all sorts of difficult names. Blazing speed over wifi or 3g. A little slow over an EDGE network - but not any slower than the other apps I tried. Unmatched accuracy makes it worth the extra couple second wait. This is now my Goto app. Hopefully well see more killer voice apps from these guys soon.

Wow! - and free too!  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps
By: ltoutlook - Oct 29, 2008

THis is the 3rd voice dialer I've tried on the iPhone. The first was initially free (now paid) and is accurate but s-l-o-w and does not auto-dial. The second was free, also slow, and wildly erratic (sometimes spot-on but usually wildly off). The others are $10+ so will never get tried by me.
Say Who is the fastest of the 3 to be ready, finds the name accurately, and starts dialing the main number unless you correct it. It calls a home number before a cell # for example. But if I specify 'xxx xxx cell' - it dials the mobile #.
While no app is perfect - 5 stars for being the best, and for also being free. When they start charging it will be well worth it to pay a few bucks for the ability to voice auto-dial easily.
Great little app. It is in my dock next to my phone and mail-neded on all home pages.

Easy and useful app  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps

I, too, have used the other voice recognition contact list "dialer," but this one will automatically dial the number for you if you want, rather than requiring you to tap the screen to initiate the call. Removing that added step is a really nice feature. Before dialing, you can take peek and make sure it has selected the right number and cancel the call if it wasn't correct, or you change your mind (instead of a mobile number, you want to call an office or home). You can also disable the autocall feature if you want.

Wow, this actually works!  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps
By: nveerav - Oct 20, 2008

Like most iPhone converts, I sorely miss the great voice dialing features that my previous phone had built in. Having downloaded the often inaccurate and buggy 3rd-party voice dialing apps, I mostly lost hope but waited patiently for the highly anticipated Fonix app (newly released). When I saw that I had to shell out a whopping $15 for an app that most users weren't satisfied with, I was infuriated. I did one last search in the App Store for voice dial apps and saw that I had not tried out Say Who, which got about 90% positive reviews and was free - too good to be true, I thought, but worth a try. Upon trying it out, I was ecstatic - the app recognized all my prompts! I made sure to say a contact's name exactly as it is stored, followed by the exact label (eg, mobile, work). In the absence of built-in voice dialing, this app is the next next option in my opinion. Good stuff!

Works great  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps
By: doctravis - Oct 19, 2008
Version: 0.1001
I am not sure why people are dogging this app. It works great!!! As with all voice recognition products you may have to work with it, but the programers gave you the ability to do just that. For example, when I say my wife's name ""Gina" it would give me three or four choices. She would always be there but I would have to pick the name, which kinda defeats the purpose.... No big deal, I simply went into my contacts and added "wife" as her nickname. It finds wife everytime. I did the same thing with my girlfriend. Ha ha jk. Or you can go to contacts and add a phonetic tag to anyone which worked with my friend "Sechin" pronounced "say gin". Also, I found that if you add the words "mobile" or " home" after the contact, it will find it predictably. Come on people, no voice recognition works 100%. With me working with my main contacts, it is dialing directly over 95% of the time, at least!!! Good product guys

THIS IS A FREE APP? WHAAA??  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps

Believe it or not, yes this is a free app! This is an amazing program that pretty much blows Vocalia away which you have to pay! The program autodials and their phonetic system is very VERY good. Sounds too good to be true right? Well speak to their fabulous team of support techs and you'll believe everything. Great program backed by great people. What more can you ask for? Enough reading, just download it already!

Great App!  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps
By: No1Chico - Oct 19, 2008

WOW!
The one problem I had was when I didn't speak the contact name exactly as entered. I did present some options but none matched the intended one. A quick refresh on how I entered it cleared that up.
But four for five (the one that missed see above explanation).
And this is the first app I've reviewed I am that impressed. And you cannot beat free.
The next test wil be in a vehicle but I don't think it will be a problem.

Works perfect!  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps
By: Shap08 - Oct 19, 2008
Version: 0.1001
This should have been standard on the iphone's phone feature! The thing I love the most is you DON'T have to go thru each contact and record a voice tag, it auto recognizes the text from their name, even if you say which phone to call like "Jim Smith Mobile" it will display their mobile number first. Awesome app, I don't understand how people say it doesn't work, unless you don't speak english well.

Wonderful!  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps
By: Deftdrummer - Oct 18, 2008

Voice dialing is what I consider to be one of the iPhones killer apps. Only problem is most companies are charging $15 or more! Not with say who. It's free, and is amazingly accurate. There is no learning involved, of just knows what you want, gives you a few seconds to make sure that is the contact you wanted to dial, and then dials it! Another great feature is that you can speak a full number (even without area code) and it accepts the entry, even if you speak quickly. This could even be used for inputting a number in contacts quickly. You would just have to go to recents and add it later. The one thing that could be improved is having to hold down the screen when speaking. I think it would be nice if the app just loaded and you could start speaking. But again, it's free!

New features in free version?  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps

When I updated this app yesterday, I discovered that it now has the Google Maps feature and the playback feature, both of which I thought only came in the paid version. Is this a mistake? I haven't tried the playback feature yet, but talking to Google Maps seems to work perfectly for me. I notice that after the update, the Say Who entry in Settings is now completely blank. Other than that, I love this app.

Almost as good as voice Recognition on other phones, but well worth the price!  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps
By: Sfarris - Nov 12, 2008

Voice recognition that works. Period. Say a name, it gives you the number, or a couple of close by names if it isn't sure. Controls are super simple. For me, it was spot on every time. This one is almost no lookie, and with autodial, once you trust it, is safer than dialing yourself. Compared to some other voice recog dialers (like the BBerry or Razr), which repeat the name back to you, this one is not as good. Other voice recog on phones I have tried match your voice to your intention about as well, but do repeat the name back . It is amazing to get an app this good for free!

This is great for those of us who can not and should not be dialing while driving. I spend alot of time in my car. I know you still have to press and hold the screen while you talk but you can maintain your eyes on the road and not on your phone while scrolling through your contacts! I have Say Who and Say Where and they work as described. I am very happy with these Apps! Did I mention it's free people!!!!

Cannot Recommend More Highly!!  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps
By: Phirm - Dec 15, 2008
Version: 1.1103
I LOVE this app. It is INVALUABLE, mainly for driving. I put it where I can open it without looking and boom—all my calls are made without taking my eyes off the road.
(Note: FOR THOSE WHO ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH IT RECOGNIZING YOUR CONTACTS' NAMES: list all your contacts under first and last name. Sounds obvious, but some (like me) may not realize it right away. It has no problem finding the "Jane Smith"s, but the "Mom"s and "Dan"s lead to misunderstandings. Hope that helps someone.)

5 Stars  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps
By: otorosushi - Oct 25, 2008
Version: 0.1020
Great app, much more accurate than voice recognition features I've had on previous cell phones. The only thing I can see that needs improvement is removing the splash screen. It adds unnecessary wait time to an app that is supposed to save you time. Hugely annoying and counterintuitive. If you want free advertising, you don't need a splash screen that locks you out for 2 seconds. You have free advertising from satisfied "Say Who" users like myself who will spread the word far and wide about how great this is.

Best Free App - Awesome!  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps
By: Rotisserie Chicken - Nov 11, 2008

This app should cost money! I have been waiting for voice-dialing since I bought my iPhone. I tested the functionality on the most difficult of names in my Contacts and it works like a charm. I LOVE the feature that allows you to direct the app to call a specific number by saying, "Mom at Home" or "Mom Mobile." Unlike my other devices with voice response, “Who” does NOT confuse "mom" with "bob", "tom", and "Rahm." The auto-dialer delay is also a very smart feature. "Who" displays the identified contact on your screen and lists alternative contacts below. The auto-dialer delay allows you to cancel a call if "Who" identified the wrong contact and then allows you to choose another contact option from the list. Based on my testing thus far, this app is very accurate and I have not had to use that feature. Great job, Excuse Me Services!!!

Great App  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps
By: Guppies - Nov 10, 2008
Version: 1.1103
Can't believe this is free. Having had voice dialing on other phones, I can say this app works better than the ones I have used. It takes the name you enter vocally and comes up with the closest matches. Loved that I did not have to have it recognize my voice or have to give my contacts special names. Great job guys - you hit it out of the park!!! This has to be one of the best free apps I have downloaded. After using it, I would probably say that it would be one of the greatest apps even if I had to pay for it.

Get the most from this app  rating of Say Who LITE Dialer & Maps
By: Uncle David - Dec 8, 2008

I love this app! I use it several times a day.
I accidentally discovered you can get the most out of this app by updating the contacts in your Address Book. If a contact has more than one phone number, specify the type. (mobile, home, etc) Then, when you voice dial, be specific as to which number you want to call. (‘Paula Coleman – mobile’ or, ‘Paula Coleman – home’) This enables you to dial the correct number without having to select from multiple numbers.
As to the negative reviews, I don't want to disparage anyone, but I've never had so much as a glitch with this app. I have to wonder if the problems others are having are due to operator error.
If possible, in a future version, could you add an option for changing the timing on the auto-dial feature?
Thanks for the free app. :)
