I disagree with many of the suggestions made here. I didn’t buy this app because it was cheap—I bought it because it looked simpler than the other shopping-list options. I’ve been in touch with the developer and have made one suggestion. When I’m shopping, I put something in the basket, then write down on a notepad the item and its price. I then total the price when I’m done to make sure that I don’t overspend. I’ve asked him to add this and he’s amenable. I also suggested that he doesn’t add any more features. His differentiation from the others is the simplicity. Let the other developers add complexity. There are too many of these types of apps for all of them to do the same thing.
Apart from the simplicity of the app, I also thought it more visually appealing than the other options. If you don’t like Marker Felt (I don’t know why people dislike it), then your mileage may vary.
It is very cheap and I think if he keeps it simple, it will be priced well. Personally, if he solves my problem, I told him I’d be willing to pay more.

This app makes shopping so much easier. You always have your phone with you so it’s easy, convenient and enjoyable to add items to your shopping list.
You have no chance of leaving your shopping list at home, and if you leave your phone, you know you will go back for it.
Entering items could not be simpler and the more you enter the easier it becomes as it remembers your items.
The pictures you can add help to ensure you buy the “exact” item should the need arise.
It is easy to edit the items after they are input but I suggest you consider your wording as you add the items carefully to create the best database you can.

I love this app. I have several different kinds of lists in here other than just groceries. I have a separate list for my Costco stuff, a list of chores my kids have to do, and several others. I love how I can check something off and it moves down into a "completed items" category, where I can easily just click on it again and have it move back up to where it was in the list before I checked it off. I really wish there was a way to organize the "completed" items, though! Either alpabetically or in categories. Please??

I love this application. You type in whatever you need (or use the pre-made lists), then in the "Category" function you type in (once, then select from) the name of the store where you will go to purchase the item (like Trader Joe's or Whole Foods), and it will list the item under a heading for that store/category. Once you've purchased (and marked) the item, the item name fades to a lighter shade until the next time you need to mark it for purchase. You can also arrange the order of the items on the list. The "pad" cleverly resets itself each time you add or mark an item. If you like to be organized, you will love this application.

This app is super easy to use and so handy! You can choose from the items already listed, or you can add in your own items. It remembers the items you add- as well as the amounts you have associated with them- so that those things are waiting for you next time. You tick things off as you get them and it greys them out for easy viewing. The only opportunity I can see is that it doesn't save your added quantity labels to the entire list- it just attaches them to the item you added it with. It would be nice if it would, so you wouldn't have to keep adding "box" or "carton", etc., that initial time- minor issue. All in all, great app. Get it!

Can't shop without this app.

This app is great, really easy to use and is so much more convenient than pen & paper. I always forget things when I go shopping, or at least I used to, but this app means I remember the lot. So I'm fine now as long as I remember to put it on the list in the first place. App is very nicely laid out, looks good, is easy to use, moves items to the bottom of the list once you tick them off, and you can both add new items and delete those that you never buy. Also the app designers have listened to feedback and made the improvements requested, excellent. Don't understand some of the more negative reviews below as I find this app very good and it really doesn't cost much considering how handy it is. As for those complaints cos it doesn't contain every conceivable food item; I'm amazed they're so lazy that typing in a food is a problem for them, it must have taken more effort to post their review!? Thanks for such a useful app.

I use this all the time, since version 1 and it just keeps getting better. The recent update adds multi lists, nice touch. I also like the touch item to cross it off list. The email list is another great idea esp' for things like planning a party etc. It is a little more sluggish than it was but it is a great little app and for the money excellent value. Thankyou Werner you listened to what we wanted. Next can we have a sort alphabetically please :)

This is an excellent programme that does exactly what it is supposed to do and is extremely easy to use. I use it all the time. It comes with a database of foods but it is very easy to add your own food or anything else you need to buy for that matter. The list can be organised very easily into walking order which makes it a touch easier when in a supermarket.
I cannot fault it and have used it everyday since purchasing it. I would have to say 59p for this program is an absolute bargain.
Just downloaded the new update for this, can you reintroduce the tick the box when you have put the item into your shopping basket then rearrange the list with the to buy item at the top and the bought items at the bottom. I loved this when it was introduced but it seems to have vanished in the latest update.

Love a list? Go for this one!

This app let's you categorize your items using your own categories, for instance shops or aisles, yet it's still nice and easy to use.You can create many lists, and items can store a photo, quantity and units as well as category. The items can be reordered, and as you shop you can strike out items.For each list you create, when you add an item, Shopping List remembers a history of all entries used in that list, rather than just a global history, so you only see relevant choices. Smart! Also the category and quantity are retained in the history.I would love to see the ability to reorder categories just like you can with items. That way you can arrange the order of shops you want to visit, for instance. As is, categories are always listed alphabetically, which is a bit limiting...Great app, though. I use it a lot!

I bought this app at version 1. It was very good then, and it keeps getting better. The beauty of it is the master list. Once you've used it a few times, you will have almost all the stuff you regularly buy, and building a list is very fast. In the latest version you don't have to leave the master list to add items to your shopping list. The categories are great. The measurements are superbly customisable. This is one of the most useful bits of software on my phone.

Stop searching!!! This is all you need!!!

I looked through several list apps and picked this one and am so glad I did! You type in whatever product you want, and then you create a category for it. The program saves your catagories and you just keep entering in products and choosing or creating catagories and it creates a list that is set up alphabetically by catagory so everything is in it's place! You can add notes, specific amounts/measurements, and you can "scratch" an item off your list when you're done with it. A+ program!!! 

Let me start by stating that I don't like shopping, but it is something that I have to do. I like this app. It is simple and straight forward to use, it suits the way I shop and I use it all the time. I don't want to have to tap away in the supermarket ailes but with this app I can see easily what I have to buy and one tap clears the item to the bottom of the list. My phone is with me all the time and I can easily add items when they come to mind. I don't have any recommendations on how to improve this. It seems to me that it does what I want. Highly recomended if all you want is a simple list of editable items.

This would have to be one of the handiest apps online ... what a cliche but it is very simple and easy to use, easy to navigate and makes shopping much less of a brain strain.
Like most here I see oportunities for the developer to improve the product and my only suggestion would be to add badging to the icon to let you know that there are outstanding items in your shopping list.
Otherwise this product is great and deserves a high rating and happy to pay for a simple answer to the old pen and paper.

No more taking little pieces of paper with illegible writing, and making holes on the list while trying to tick what you bought...
This application looks nice, it's easy to use, you can type fast, doesn't crash and remembers the items you buy often.
Extremely recommended!
UPDATED!! Now you can edit your list and change the order of your items!! This app is so different to other lists because it's simple and you don't get messed up with multiple lists and colours. It's just as simple as list!

Just got the 1.0.1 update and it's optimised the speed of item entry by a huge ammount. being able to double tap the recently used items.
This is by far the most used app on my ipod - As soon as I remember that we are out of something, I pull out the ipod and note it down. This way I never forget to get something when I go to the shops.
My only complaint (and it is minor) is that I dont like the square pattern background. White would be fine and would increase legibility. Or at least lower the saturation of the current one.
Other than that this is a perfect app!

I love this app - I use it every week to do my groceries. Just two suggestions for improvement: - being able to reorder the list by hitting edit and dragging is great... However if you drag all the way to the top or bottom it keeps moving all the way to the very top or bottom of the list, not stopping when you release it. This seems like a bug - a "checkmark all" function to reset your list after shopping. Right now you have to go through every item and put a check mark on it so you can use it next time

I really appreciate this app. I'm not agree with other comments here, I rapidly found how to modify the suggested item list, add items, delete items. Those move aren't different than other iPhone interface manipulation. I made a completely new suggested item list (in french, since it's my mother-tongue) and the app kept the db intact.
Bien que ce logiciel soit en anglais, il est très facile de modifier la liste suggérée d'items. Il suffit d'ajouter un item en français et ensuite de supprimer de la liste de suggestion, l'item correspondant en anglais en glissant le doigt de gauche à droite dessus, le bouton rouge de suppression apparaîtra alors. Un logiciel agréable; recommandé.

Indispensible to me. Developer responded to user comments and made big improvements. My only complaint is (probably) with the App Store's review system... I typed a review on my iPhone and hit "submit" and got a message my nickname was already taken. All my painstaking typing effort was lost, as there doesn't seem to be a way to keep the original text when you change your nick, and no warning your nick is already in use.

If you are like me, and you just need a simple app to record what you need from the store when you think of it, and then check it off in the store, this is perfect. Lets you create different lists, so you can have one list for the market and another for the drug store. Remembers your products so they pop up next time. Interface is very clean. Has never crashed.
Also very cool, the creator has answered all of my emails, whether requests or complaints.
