Your Speedtest app is the best tool for evaluating network speed. It evolved from a simple interface to a nice and user friendly design. Congratulations.
I have one request though. Please add the name of the network being tested. If there are more network to be tested at the same location that would be handy for the history table. ONcde this is in the Pro version I will buy it.

I find this app to be very handy, replacing some online flash-based sites I've used. Good job, as long as the servers remain able to handle the capacity. Re: FIOS speeds, unless you've found a way to make an Ethernet connection to your iPhone, the WIFI speeds will cap at the speed of the access point or the iPhone (which is 801.11b/g - with a max burst of 5.4 mbs). FIOS won't make your iPhone faster than it is, but you could connect 10 of them full-tilt and not experience a data bottleneck.

From some of the reviews, I felt doubtful that this application would be any good, but I downloaded it anyway, since it is free. All the following refers to WiFi: The variance between the first test and the second test (within seconds of each other) was over 1000 kb for download and 200 kb for upload. I immediately retested and the range narrowed by half. For the third and fourth tests, the variance was about 40 kb for download and 10 kb for upload. This variance has remained consistent. Thus, you have to "calibrate" the iPhone/ iPod Touch and the source for any meaningful results. The same will be true for EDGE and 3G.

Really Cool App

I always wanted an app like this. The interface is very simple and easy to use. The only thing I wish they added was not only to know the location of where I'm testing but I also add the name of the town / zipcode and state because altitude and lat. Isn't very useful. Also to name the location your self. It would of been a five with that feature. Also it's not good to use this too often because what it does is send ad recieve a file to test the connection so your connection is being used and that that takes battery power. Other wise , a great app.

I use this app alot if I connect to a wifi that is not mine, especially if the signal is low. Many times I have found that the wifi speed is less than 3g and I'm wasting my time with that wifi. Sure wifi may be better for my battery, but I want my speed!! This app only has gotten better with each release. If you travel alot or use different unknown wifi, then u can't go wrong.

It's a lag switch that's when you start the app while playing any game I mostly use it on call of duty world at war it'll ask you to use current location say no and start the test while you play if it doesn't lag your probly the host but it works great!

I HATE it when I've got 4 Wi-fi networks to choose from. So I love this when I'm downloading stuff-some networks are 2X as fast!
