WHO ARE WE: This app is delivered fresh to your door, from three blokes in Adelaide. We do this in our spare time, and are committed to deliver the best features and support to all of you. We love hearing from you, and often implement ideas that we receive from you guys. SUPPORT & UPDATES: Email us at support@shiftyjelly.com with any queries you may have. All our updates are free to users who have paid for our app :) NOTE: While we have explicit permission from the BOM to use and repackage all of their data, this app is not published, or maintained by the BOM, so please send your queries, suggestions and problems to us, and not them.

Reviews:
Fantastic app By: AdamLRob - 08-Nov-2009 Version: 2.0 Great weather app with heaps of features!I've had this app for over a year and during that time its always worked flawlessly and the developers have constantly improved their app. This is a 5 star app however there's a few suggested improvements I'd like to see:- ability to add non Australian locations (like their world weather app)- drill down maps with national, state and regional forecasts like on the news.- a few small tweakes to make it even easier to use e.g. :- Add the day's low and high tides to the detailed forecast like you've done for sunrise and sunset.- make it quicker to get to the national radars from a location's forecast screen e.g. Add the three national radar options to a locations radar options (256k, 512k, national rain, national satelite etc.)- make it clearer which icons are buttons and which are just pictures. E.g. Make the radar icon look like a raised button.
SIMPLY AWESOME! By: Knobulous Vasculous - 07-Nov-2009 Version: 2.0 There are just a very few select apps out there, in any category, anywhere in the world, that have no pier. This is one of them! So why is it so good? First, it always works. Second, it's pretty accurate. Third, it provides plenty of info. Fourth, for $2.49 it's sensational value. If you require a weather app or just want to see how a really good app is put together, then get this one. BUT BE WARNED, this app will set the standard by which you will compare all your other apps against. This is one of the very few apps that deserves a five star rating!UPDATE 2.0 makes a good thing even better! It' easy to judge a good app, simply by how many times you use it, and I use this one several times a day.
Great Value By: iPodtouch game addict - 07-Nov-2009 Version: 2.0 There are lots of weather apps on the app store but this is by far the best one for Australian weather.Weather updates are sorced from the BOM and provides an accurate 7 day forecast from your nearest capital city or major town. Not to mention 4 skins to view weather in, radars and updates, tide times, sunrise/set times, UV info, weather warnings and much more!I LOVE IT 89/100 Perfect, accurate and brilliant. Best weather app on iPhone? Quite possibly.
Great!! (since latest update) By: rmau - 22-May-2009 Version: 1.4 With the new update - huge improvement. It's now by far the best for regional Australia. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Generally I love this app. In fact I tried both this and OzWeather and ended up sticking with Pocket Weather.Just one niggling issue for me, is regional "current" weather observations are not updated as often as they could be or indeed as of as the bureau releases them. If you're a capital city it's fine but even for Murray Bridge, only 80kms out of Adelaide it only picks up current weather obs once or twice a day when are available from the bureau every hour. Still this is the best for non-capital city users.
Awesome weather app By: Shano23 - 06-Nov-2009 Version: 2.0 Awesome weather app, very accurate and shows all the information you could need.A few suggestions for a future update: Update the icons to show moon at night time instead of a sun.Add more locations, I live in a major city but it would be nice to view the weather of regional places where my friends live like batlow for example.Add ocean details like sea and swell conditions.Keep up the good work :-)
From the dev By: rustyshelf - 15-Jun-2009 Version: 1.4.1 Great application that keeps getting better and better. We love to hear your feedback, so email us at the support link if you have any. It think you'd have to agree though, it's come a long way since 1.0. To answer some specific concerns: - Update took away features! The update hasn't removed features, the black skin still has all the features it had before, and more. The blue and green skins look different, and present information differently, but you can always stay with the black one if that's what you prefer :)
V2 is gold! By: cy_starkman - 06-Nov-2009 Version: 2.0 What was great is now gold.Push notifcations work straight up. Using the badge for current temp is genius. Haven't seen weather warnings yet, cause there hasn't been any.Bit faster, esp the radar which also is now even better presented, easier to locate and live.Ignore the comments about this and that town missing or innacuracy because all the info comes from the AU government weather network (bom.gov.au). Not all places have stations and not all stations are 24hr. In your hands is the same info weather forecasters use, only it's live. The built in app cheats by showing the closest station's readings but pretending it's your towns. It also gets the info via a US company that gets it delayed via the AU BOM. Forget it.Nuff said. Buy App. Get Weather.Complain to ur local member if you want more weather stations built. Then this app will also have that info. K?
The #1 AUS weather app By: BuffStuff - 06-Nov-2009 Version: 2.0 Developer is always improving this app and now with push alerts and temperatures plus heaps more information this make it a must have for all. I no longer have to enter the app if I only want to see current temp as it is badged on my home screen. It loads very quickly and you can see the current weather for all the places you have selected in one screen. Up to date radar and tides are very usefull with animated icons that make it stand out. I think this is the most visual and informed weather app for the iPhone. The new push for weather warnings from the BOM is a great feature. I can't speak highly enough about the developers who are always listening to users ideas and feedback. Fantastic, I use it every day.
Perfect By: darwiniandude - 26-Sep-2008 Version: 1.0 Whilst I strongly dislike paying for a weather app, I bought it because the built in one is useless, and I'm sick of navigating the Bom website manually. This is a really slick app, the overview screen simultaneously shows the main points for all your saved locations, and when you tap for details you get detail about wind direction and everything. Tapping (i) gives you the précis info. All in all a very well done app that I'm happy to pay for considering how good it is. I wish the best to the author and can't wait for more updates! To those having issues:1) Make certain your iPhone is running OS v2.1 (check for update in iTunes) prior versions are very buggy. 2) Reboot your phone: Hold power, then swipe to shutdown, then power it on again with the sleep/wake switch. 3) iPhone has a finite amount of ram and occasionally it seems to get fragmented so a reboot every couple of days may be needed if you run lots of apps. There is nothing wrong with this app, I wish people would stop leaving negative reviews for apps any time they crash whenthey haven't rebooted their phone first.
Awesome weather app By: Shano23 - 11-Jul-2009 Version: 1.5 Awesome weather app, very accurate and shows all the information you could need.A few suggestions for a future update: Update the icons to show moon at night time instead of a sun.Add more locations, I live in a major city but it would be nice to view the weather of regional places where my friends live like batlow for example.Add ocean details like sea and swell conditions.Keep up the good work :-)

The Best and developer is very helpful By: BuffStuff - 09-Jul-2009 Version: 1.5 Wow this just gets better and better. New update is snappier and I really like the animated icons. This is a great weather app with more detail than others and the interface looks great especially in landscape mode. It has tide information, rain, satellite and synoptic national chart and 6 day forecast including regional areas. The app includes a range of skins (displays) to suit everyones taste with detailed information about the current day etc... It loads very quickly and you can see the current weather for all the places you have selected in one screen. I think this is the most visual and informed weather app for the iPhone. I can't speak highly enough about the developers who are always listening to users ideas and feedback. Fantastic, I use it every day.
Brilliant weather app well worth the money By: Dr JJA - 06-Oct-2009 Version: 1.5 Excellent App provides all the quality observations from the bureau of Meterology Australia within two taps the front page shows all I need and if I want to view the radar it takes one click and is perfectly sized (if I was on the bureau of meterology page I have to jump from page to page to get all the info I get on the home page). Highly recommend it. I love the background and colours on my version dark background hope this stays available
SIMPLY AWESOME! By: Knobulous Vasculous - 10-Oct-2009 Version: 1.5 There are just a very few select apps out there, in any category, anywhere in the world, that have no pier. This is one of them! The best Australian weather app available!! By: Peteeni - 14-Oct-2009 Version: 1.5 The weather seems to be incredibly random at the moment, but Pocket Weather always keeps up with the changes so I rarely get caught out in the rain or wearing warm clothes when I should be dressing for the tropics! With multiple locations, radar, genuine continuing improvements and the well thought out presentation of all the data available, I'm using it all the time. This app is intuitive and simple to use - the way it should be. In my opinion Pocket Weather is the best weather app for OZ there is!!
Brilliant Weather App By: Geekygecko - 23-Oct-2009 Version: 1.5 I am addicted to the BOM weather site and now I am addicted to Pocket Weather. Thanks for creating a really useful application. The interface is excellent and I just love the animated icons. Easily the best weather application in the store. Not sure what the last reviewer was on, but I have always found the developers very helpful. If the BOM location temperature say 0 what should the application say? Just change to another sydney location, there are loads of them. If the BOM website has issues don't blame the application.
Very very nice application! By: Mark Hutch - Sep 29, 2008 Version: 1.0 This is a brilliant application for getting the latest BOM weather for Australia. I have used several other weather applications, some of which have terrible weather forecasts for Australia (ie Weather.com) and others (AeroWeather) have a lot of unwanted info or unfamiliar units. Pocket Weather does not have any of these such issues, based on the strength of the BOW forecast, it presents the current weather and forecast information in an easily viewable & navigatable manner. The additional feature of BOM radars also is very nice. Well worth the price!
Brilliant By: SlrCrumpet - Mar 19, 2009 Version: 1.3.4 An excellently designed and coded application, Pocket Weather AU pulls information directly from the Bureau of Meterology, providing the most accurate and recent information available in your location at the time. Recent updates, adding tides, radar and more have made Pocket Weather one of the most frequently used applications on my iPhone. Rating a product designed for an Australian market one star simply because it does not service international markets is foolish. Overall, Pocket Weather AU does exactly what it sets out to do, and it does so in a simple, easy to read and understand manner, while maintaining the advanced features that place it head and shoulders above the built in Weather.app and its competitors.
Should be on every iPhone in Australia By: Michael Stringer - 27-Oct-2008 Version: 1.1 This application makes the best use of every bit of information that the Bureau of Meteorology provides over the Internet. The list of locations updates quickly, and the display of weather information for a specific location is perfect. I particularly like how the display format changes when rotating the phone to landscape orientation. The display of the rain radar loops makes the application great when out and about. This application is the first thing that I look at when my feet hit the floor in the morning, and it is an excellent example of the benefits of a mobile computing platform with a high-quality user interface.
Best damn weather app for iPhone By: Sydneysider & Canberran - 24-Nov-2008 Version: 1.1 This is the best damn weather app I have tried on the iPhone. It's so nice to finally get an app that is super easy to use and displays the correct weather from the bureau rather than the international section of a yankee weather report. The extras such as wind, humidity, uv index, apparent temp and BOM's notes for the day are also extremely useful. I wasn't sure about paying for a weather app to start with, but well worth the small expense!
Best Australian Weather App By: Jeff A. - 11-Feb-2009 Version: 1.2.1 This is simply the best weather application for the iPhone to show Australian weather. I only wish there was a dashboard widget similar to this app which I could run on my Mac and take advantage of the more accurate BOM weather forecasts on my computer. Lately I've been reaching for my iPhone to check the weather even though I may be sitting right infront of the computer, one click away from my Dashboard button. Thats how good this app is!
